So I been excited for this gym to open, I go with my friend and we both sign up for the 7 day free pass, I get there then their Manager David Cortez asks me where did i drive from, I said Redondo beach he says oh sorry the pass is only for the long beach residents? I told him show me where it says that he grabs my phone and tries to find it on the website and he doesn’t find it so he goes and pull a card and says you see how it says restrictions apply ? then proceeds to say you can buy a day pass for 40$!. Very disappointed as I was excited to move from 24 to gold’s with a bunch of friends but now i’ll make sure nobody does.

Dirty, broken, and neglected. NOT built to be anything other than TEMPORARY. I tried so hard to give this place a chance, but they clearly don’t care about the quality of the space they provide. I get that construction sometimes takes longer than expected. But I joined this gym a year ago with the promise that the new location would be ready in 4-6 months. This location is NOT sustainable and not maintained. The staff turns off the back lights at 9:40 PM (sometimes 9:30), despite still having numerous guests on the treadmills - which is extremely rude and also very hazardous, I’m honestly surprised I haven’t rolled an ankle. There are much better ways to get guests out of a closing gym. The space is not ventilated for large groups of sweating people, there’s no ac or fresh air and the glass walls literally steam up. The machines have not been calibrated since they’ve been installed, a 5.0 pace on one treadmill is completely different on another. The weight machines are worn down and lacking weight indicators. The self-clean supplies are empty 9/10 times, and while I’ve seen employees wipe down equipment at the end of the night there’s really no way to wipe it down yourself. On top of that I’ve seen actual boogers on the glass walls and baby roaches on the machines. I honestly wish I was exaggerating, I really wanted to give this place a good review. The only good thing about this place was the staff member named Connery - he was friendly and seemed to really care about the gym. But since it’s been months since I’ve seen him around, I no longer have a reason to hesitate posting this review.

The gym is great but the staff is extremely rude, they give you attitude when you ask for help and are very condescending. Had to cancel my membership, luckily they gave me a refund at least.

New to this gym. I have been there a handful of times and have yet to see anyone wipe down the equipment when they are done using it. So disgusting! There are no showers, and it seems like the a/c is never on.

Currently, this is just a temporary spot for the gym until the new location is ready.Club manager David is hands-on and always keeps the facility running seamlessly

The staff was great... even though i am just a guest of my cousin. They greeted with a smile and welcomed me cheefully.Equipment was numerous and accomodated a lot of people. It was a nice and clean place to workout.

There’s actually NO sauna and/or steam room at this location, Bummed me out cause it’s my primary gym.

The temporary location sucks. No one seems to have a firm answer as to when the new location will open. It's already a year behind it's original opening date.I'm already dreading having to go to the PIKE everyday to work out. Traffic and parking at the Pike has always been a nightmare. ESPECIALLY ON WEEKENDS. I'm ready to switch to Metroflex

Great customer service. Love this place. It is a small gym but it's a great place to work out. It's in a good area. I am looking forward to the new location.

The gym wasn't too bad before the move to the new building but there are no amenities like before and still have to pay the same price. When you check in they leave your personal information on the open computers for anyone to walk up and read. When cancelling you have to make an account on a third party site. Plus the smell followed building and the machines are always busy because of the much smaller size. 2 Stars because the staff are mostly pleasant.

Long beach Golds Gym: A Dishonest DisappointmentRating: My experience at Golds was a complete letdown. The unhelpful staff and hidden fees left a sour taste in my mouth. The employees lacked any interest in assisting members and seemed more focused on collecting fees. On top of that, they conveniently forgot to mention the plethora of hidden charges buried in the contract. Trying to cancel my membership was a nightmare, and the facilities were poorly maintained. Save yourself the trouble and find a gym that values honesty and transparency. Gold gym is not worth your time or money. No matter what hidden fee they apply they have a strict no refund policy and they will not bend.
