The nurses and patient care specialists at this birth care center are amazing!! They are the most dedicated, sincere, warm, caring and giving individuals. I've given birth here twice and they go above and beyond to care for you during and after delivery. They are patient, reassuring and make you feel like you are their number one priority whenever they come in the room whether It be afternoon or the early morning. I was cramping post birth and the nurses suggested heating pads which helped a lot. They are always looking for ways to make you as comfortable as possible! My experience with the food was also great. The meals are varied and nutritious. One early morning I got hungry early as I was breastfeeding non-stop and a patient care specialist brought me many different snacks so that I was well fed and comfortable before breakfast. I highly recommend this birthing center!

I brought my daughter to the ER because her ears were hurting and she had a cold I know nothing big to bring to the emergency room but she was crying my 5 year old. For all I know she could have an ear infection anyways , I got here at 8:15 and the lady in the front told me the wait could be very long. I didn't think it would be this long!! It's currently 3am and still have not seen any dr! Waited in 2 waiting rooms to be told that I'm 6th in line . Where is the quality of this hospital? Seems like only in certain departments is where the quality seems to be in. So many parents left because of the wait and had been here earlier than me. My urgent care was closed and didn't want to wait till morning seems like I was better off being at home then bringing her in and possibly not seeing a dr till 5-6am that is so ridiculous! Do they only have 1 dr on duty for pediatrics or what? Thats what it seems like. And the nurse in the pediatric room is no help by saying not sure how long you'll wait. And also depends on how severe your reason for your visit is. I've only seen 2 patients leave the pediatric room since I've come back here and that's been about 3 hours of waiting back here. Memorial step up your game!! 1 star

It's been 12 hours. They sent my 6 year old to the adult mri section. Only to be turned away. Not sure if she lost her turn for the children's mri. But it's unacceptable to have a 6 year old waiting in excruciating pain the whole day. No updates, no plan of action. I didn't anticipate camping overnight when we came at sunrise this morning. My child hasn't eaten the entire day, meanwhile the nurses and doctors are changing shifts. The receptionist that was on the phone had an attitude and ultimately no information or updates. No mri for 12 hours?

Horrible. I had to take my kid in for a MRI and forgot my Id and they wouldn't let me go back with my own kid. And my kid wouldn't go without me. So this important mri had to be rescheduled! Something that could be life saving if found sooner. There is a special place for these people. And it's hot!

Don't take your child here if they actually need to be seen by a dr. Took my 6 year old in because urgent care recommended an ultrasound to rule out appendicitis. We got back to waiting room relatively quickly and back to ultrasound within an hour. After that they left us in the kids' waiting room for 6 hours! My child was vomiting, crying about stomach pain, fever... we had no help and there was no end in sight. I should have brought my own pain medicine because they wouldn't give them anything for pain or nausea. I ended up leaving 6.5 hours later with no help and 2 days later, no ultrasound results. One of the medical techs told me in confidence I should take her home because we were likely to be there hours longer without being seen. Absolutely terrible for a childrens' hospital! Ended up taking my child in to another facility for help.

Wife waited for 8 hours, just to have others come in after her and be seen! They labeled my son urgent, but after 8 hours, my wife gave up! Hope to never visit again, even the VA has more compassion! The receptionist was on her phone, so conversing with her caused attitude! Should have just taken my son to To Torrance memorial, would have been seen much faster! Don't think this is really a good hospital, especially for children! Work on your workers, and get them off the freaking cell phone! Geez

The nurses and staff on the orthopedics floor are amazing. They were very attentive to my mom through her whole stay and helped make her recovery after surgery as smooth as possible. I am eternally thankful for all of their help and support.

My 5 year old son fell off the monkey bars on 8/5/2023 and broke his arm in 3 different places. He was taken to this hospital by ambulance. I have to say this is the best hospital I ever been to and everything was so clean. Everyone was so nice and caring. The doctors came to talk to me like every 5 minutes to keep me informed. My son ended up needing emergency surgery and Dr. Acosta and her team came in from home to do my son's surgery. They were so nice and kept me in the loop every step of the way. The security guard was also so nice, he kept checking the database to see if my son was out of surgery. The recovery room nurses and my son's nurses that night was awesome. My son stayed in the the hospital overnight. So the night staff made sure I had food as well. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone with children.

Only if I was dying would I want to deal with this hospital. I would give the doctors and nurses here 5 stars but the hospital itself, it's policies(which are solely diff then EVERY OTHER HOSPITAL) and the facility staff id give 0 stars. They are abhorrent.

We have been going here for my sons medical care for years. We see multiple different specialists. But this medical center has definitely gone down hill in the past few years. I of course have had some amazing and wonderful experiences with various staff members. But as of late....Everything is all about money! I understand they're are a business. But aren't they also supposed to be about patient care? Being caring, kind, empathetic to the patient and families, that part is seriously sliding. And in my view, there are also some things that are just common sense, but common sense seems to go out the window to save a few bucks. Examples: parking costs. Being a patient with chronic health care issues, you shouldn't have to pay money to park your car to see the doctor. If you are a parent to a child in the hospital, you shouldn't have to pay to come and see your child. Random visitors I understand. But you are charging families who are already going thru a traumatic event just to come see their children?? That is not caring! Navigation Center: OMG this has to be the lamest thing I have ever encountered. You thought computerized prompts were bad??? I'll take those anyday to this Navigation center thing! It's ridiculous!! So us personally we see 5 different medical offices within Millers/LB Memorial, So we are there quite a bit, and I am on the phone with any one office even more. Lots of phone calls back and forth, for all sort of things, appointments, medications, referral issues, procedure scheduling, medical equipment and supplies, etc. So when I call to make an appt to any of these 5 doctors, the call is automatically routed to this Navigation Center, they're called Patient Navigators. Once answered, they ask you your name, the patients name, DOB, some other verifying questions , what your call is about, and why are you calling. So after you give all that info, they say the office is busy with patients during office hours, but they will send a message to that office regarding your call. Ok, super annoying but whatever! Then let's say for example they call you back (which the office rarely ever gets a message), but you are unavailable, so then they leave a voicemail saying to call the office back, you call back and the whole process starts ALL over again!! And that's for ONE doctor, and for ONE appointment. So if you need to discuss anything else with that doctors office...question, concern, scheduling, prescriptions, etc you will need to call AGAIn and start the whole process over again with the Navigation Center, now imagining that happening with multiple different physician offices. They are constantly changing procedures, the equipment they use just to save money. Some of this is out of their control, but some is not. I just wish they was governing control in who is making these decisions because it certainly isn't patient care based. Thx for reading.

I got my surgery here. They treated me and my mom great. The doctors were so nice and they watched for my mom like they did with me. I don't have any bad things to say. I recommend this hospital. 10/10 for sure

This hospital treats fathers horrible my daughter is born a preemie the doctors never made dads feel comfortable my daughter was transferred here cause the other hospital couldn't do certain procedures on her when i arrived me and my wife were together they made eye contact with her when it comes to fathers speaking i felt ignored or not understood and it felt like I wasn't a father to my child cause of how they treated the mom with more privileges than fathers everyday when i had to visit my daughter i hated it cause of how they ostracize me as father being there for my child right now my daughter is still a patient and is in surgery for her g-j tube today as we speak i was told before they brung her in that they can have both parents in as i arrive with my wife we signed in for her to get notified from the doctor until they called her i was in the bathroom at the time my wife went inside i came out and ask the front desk if i could go in for my daughter they told me no cause it's only one parent i sat down calm till i saw two parents walk in and a couple more i asked the front desk why I can't go in for my daughter but they have let two parents in at once they said that the child needed special care cause they were autistic but one of the children is normal and was allowed in the next round while my wife was in there i asked again is there anyone i can speak to they told me no i gave up at the point of trying to be there to support my daughter and it's not just this hospital its multiple for everyone that is a father and who wants to be there for there child i feel your pain cause i am not the only one who feel like this as i was having a meeting with them and it needs to be fixed god forbid if mothers don't make it through pregnancy then they have a reason to talk to dad and it's not fair i hope that these doctors and nurses treats dad the same as moms later on in life.

The nurses took great care of my baby here (especially Vartha, Luiza, Kathryn and Katie). My 2 month year old was transferred here with RSV, and while it was a really scary experience, I truly felt she was well taken care of here. They were overly cautious with releasing her, which as an anxious mom was appreciated. I felt the doctors were warm, engaging and provided timely updates/info. Only downside is $6 parking- we had to tag team to also take care of my toddler so we had to pay to park several times a day sharing a car since once of us was transported via ambulance. Wish they would offer some type of in/out privilege for same day!

Been at the surgery center since 10:30 am and it's got to be 5pm and they kept on saying they're going to get us very bad communication not recommended Now I know why they were the only ones available to take my daughter She broke her nose and had to get it done and with the 10 days and this office was only available now I know why very service bad communication The doctor try to blame it on her staff the staff trying to blame it on the doctor I know everybody's stressed out and overwork, but when it comes to their health, just like they want us to be patient they need to be more patient and organize if you could please don't come here I work in medical and I have to make sure all the data is correct No excuses for the treatment I got here
