I have dealt with the Long Beach Firemen's Credit Union for nearly 60 years. Yes, I'm old, but I certainly know quality services and operational excellence. The LBFCU has ALWAYS been a competitive financial institution offering the best in rates and lending practices. Unlike so many other financial institutions these days, including similar credit unions, several services are provided at no charge such as notary services. In addition, the LBFCU goes to extremes trying to always protect your monetary assets. For example, when I have requested wire transfers, a two step verification is done reaffirming the wire transfer's numbers to the receiving party. I will continue to use their services until told otherwise and would encourage those that are eligible to join or are members of LBFCU to do the same. I know I have been more than satisfied.

I had a phone interview with Sandra Crane for a job as a Member Service Representative here and I can honestly say it was the most unprofessional interview I've ever had in my life. She expressed that this company scouts for employees that are currently at bigger credit union that should have been the first red flag. I'm explaining to her what my day to day looks like and the experience I have which matches in this industry and she basically tells me that it sounded like I didn't want to do the work there when in fact I do way more at my current Job.She discriminated on the fact that I work remote which is out of my control. I informed her that I am in school for information Technology and she didn't like the fact that I wanted to grow within the company to possibly be apart of the IT department if hired. The icing on the cake is when she rushed me off the phone and said "I have to go I have another interview". I didn't even get an email saying they decided to "move on" with their search.Sandra clearly needs more training on communication and professionalism.
