If I could give less than 1 star I would. We've been here for 7 hours because my son tried to commit suicide and we're still not in a room. Hes 14. The level of care is terrible.

I really like this hospital. I had open heart surgery with a bypass and a valve replacement, and the cardiac nurses were great, the surgeon was great, my recovery was quick It couldn't have gone better. But the food is terrible. It would make my dog barf, and it's impossible to get better, If you can't get the nutrition that you need. For this reason, I give the hospital just two stars.

Just how difficult would it be to have a customer oriented MAP. The one they use is WORTHLESS. Going to this hospital is somewhat like "Choose your own adventure". Maybe color coding buildings? Or icons for color blind. Indicate what is done in each. 2801 long beach blvd and 2801 atlantic. WHY? Not clear to new users. Who needs alphabet soup when they need medical care. Too many acronyms to count. Doctors and nurses here are superior but tge experience is anxiety provoking.

LB Memorial you need to do better 10 hours in Your Freezing Cold ER waiting room is ridiculous, ratty warm blankets provided but seriously Your wait time is crazy you guys have to do better. I left after being there for 11 hrs because I had another appointment and ended up going to my normal Urgent Care that was closed when I decided to see what's going on with My Ankles and Legs...next time I'll take my business to Dignity Healthcare St. Mary's

I came to the ER early Thursday morning about 2am. I couldn't breathe, walk, or talk it was a horrible experience/ feeling. Both of my lungs collapsed, and it made it hard to do anything. Laying down was a real challenge. They did an EKG, chest x-ray, and a cat scan and found I had a hole in my right lung. Since I have been here, my nurse Marc and Jade have been super awesome, on point, and very attentive to mine, as well as my roommates' needs. They are both really kind and caring, which makes my stay not so bad, who wants to be in ICU with rude ass nurses. I am truly grateful that Ms Jade and Mr Marc are here. They are good at their jobs, don't seem like they are in it just for the money, which is really good. I am not sure how many more days I will be here, but as long as Jade or Marc is here, I am not worried.

I have flown out to California to be with my mom for surgery twice this year at this hospital. The first time was an outpatient procedure and everything went well. As it was outpatient so I was parked in the main lobby with my laptop. Starting at the patient communication system available to track her surgery progress. I gazed at those screens a thousand times over 6 hours until her surgery ended. I was the family contact and did get texts my mom was in pre-op, in surgery, and out of surgery. I love getting these updates. My sister went to the info desk as we were waiting much longer than anticipated to get true updates. This week I flew out for the second time for my mom's spinal surgery and the patient tracking monitoring wasn't working at all, screens were errored out. My mom came in at 5:15 AM for her surgery scheduled at 730, and then they told her surgery was scheduled for 1130. No one told her, and they said it was her responsibility to confirm her Surgery time. We had a paper in hand with time to arrive. I once she actually checked in, Mom called saying her surgery was changed to 1pm and was expected to take 90 minutes. The hospital sends family text updates. I got a text she was in pre-surgery at 2pm, and at 5:33pm I got a text saying her surgery was done. The surgeon spoke with me, and the nurse with her called. As her family contact, we were there at 5:15am and she wasn't put in a room after surgery until 10 o'clock at night. The next morning I flew home because my mom was supposed to be in the hospital 5 to 7 days. After landing at home my sister called, my mom called her to be picked up, she was told she was discharging. My mom was out of it because she had been on anesthesia the day before and so if they gave her discharge instructions she had no idea, but her surgery ended at 5:30pm Tuesday and they were planning on discharging her as of noon Wednesday. Total lack of communication with me or my sister. My mom is telling me they didn't review anything with her. I'm pretty certain that isn't the case, but certainly one would expect assessment of her mental capability to retain information before discharging her home, at 10pm to home alone. Mom initially opted to stay in patient for post operative pt/ot, instead of being transferred to rehabilitation and apparently the plan her surgeon discussed with her prior to surgery wasn't available to her. Since no one took my calls I can't confirm their reasoning. I called the case manager many times and could only leave a voicemail. I never was called back( a week has passed). At home my Mom reported she had been given a breakfast tray of food she couldn't eat, with coffee, milk and orange juice. A nutritionist came and my mom asked for what she'd like and she asked for hot tea. Mom noticed she had no water to drink. She hit the call light for water and a nurse came 2 hours later so she then requested water. When someone came with water, they dropped it and came to wipe up and left; no water. I thought everyone got a water pitcher but apparently not. My mom wasn't even herself and the hospital didn't reach out, I asked my sister to call the nurses station to confirm discharge and they said she wasn't discharging, but in fact the doctor did. I flew in Saturday after leaving the Wednesday before, to find her wound vac wasn't secured correctly; the tank and tubing had no drainage. The bandage on her back had no suction and was puffy. Once home she got no pt/ot or wound care set up, for her early discharge. So she received no services except on the day after surgery. The nurses told her on ortho unit things were the worst. Very reassuring for some who just had extreme lumbar surgery. My mom is telling everyone she was on the psyche ward with crazy patients yelling. I can't imagine what those poor nurses have to deal with! am I supposed to be happy for her not dying in surgery and keep these concerns quiet? I hope things get better. I'm a nurse and totally know this is administrative and n

The doctors at MemorialCare are spectacular. The nurses, other staff exceptional. Very exceptional. Their burden is heavy with "suits" bureaucracy. But the SUITS with authority over the doctors. Zero stars. If you saw a doctor there for primary care, you are married for a lifetime. Struggling to get divorced. Having some minor surgery and because of that primary care visit 6 months ago, they want me to drive from Long Beach to San Juan Capistrano to get an ekg. No means no. But they persist. Their heavily marketed "one phone number" is just a license to dialing for dollars. Plan to be on hold for a while and then you might get to the person you need. You are transferring all your medical needs to people in a call center that are uniformly unsophisticated. They have a script to follow, no deviations. This is not software support; this is medical institution. I booked a new primary care doctor and it was cancelled hours before the appointment with no explanation, despite the fact I had phoned them the week before on a separate issue. I was given a new doctor and it too was cancelled at the last minute.

The way they take care of their patients in the ER is just wild. They didn't let me in because it was full of people in the lobby which is understandable but when they finally got my fiancé into the ultrasound room after 4+ hours of waiting instead of letting me in to be with my fiancé like they told her I'd be, the nurse said no because I wasn't inside the lobby(I was told to wait outside until the ultrasound) and when I got inside the lobby my fiancé told the nurse that I was at the lobby and the nurse told her "No I can't, you're my last patient and I'm trying to go home already." That was my fiancés last straw and when my fiancé told he nurse that she'll just leave the nurse said "okay." This happened on 11/29/2023 at 10:30pm by an Asian nurse who has purple hair. She as a nurse shouldn't be saying things like that to a patient.

Wonderful experience at the out patient surgical pavilion. On time, had all my information, happy and professional staff from Abigail in admitting, Anna in prep, Elizabeth in PreOp and the red head (sorry name?) who started a painless I V, to Jill the ortho assistant, Dr. Hong who was a great anesthesiologist, Leslie and Christine in post op, Cheryl, Sonia, Noely, Tommy and Toni on the ward. Jaime and Drew in PT and Jen the coordinator. They all made a positive impression that I won't forget. Dr. Wassef is absolutely the BEST!!! Caring, genuine, skilled with a great bedside manner and assistant Jason also terrific. If you need a new knee this is the place! I made the trip up from North San Diego County because of Dr. Wassef and this team. They are worth it! Thank you to everyone. I'm so grateful!!

I brought my son in on 10/10/2023 at 8:30pm, it's is now 10/11 at 02:14am with still no response from Miller's Childrens waiting room nurse. She said the wait time is always 5 hours, yet we're still waiting.

Horrible wait times, sick people having to wait more than 10hrs to be seen in emergency rooms. They have the ac blasting freezing cold air people needing blankets. Update: my mother came in on 8/28 10am and was still in the hospital until 9pm when they finally started to do X-rays. She is still in the hospital 8/29 please be careful when choosing this hospital.

The older nurse with the name pronounced " YOU" should not be practicing. I gave birth to my child here and I noticed after my epidural my spine was leaking. Told this nurse over the course of several days that my spine was leaking and she told me outright that that wasn't the case, that she had been practicing for 30 years and would know it. Mind you, she never checked. When I showed her my wet hospital bed she told me it was because I was sweaty and made me walk around the hospital insisting I needed exercise. Guess what? My spine was in fact leaking!!! I was made to walk around the hospital after 4 days in labor with a leaking spine! I was a fall risk! A very young nurse actually listened to me, got me the doctor, and when checked by the doctors I in fact was leaking liquid from my spine! I had to be rushed to get an MRI. On top of that every time I tried to eat food, if that nurse (with an unusual spelling of her name pronounced " you") would walk into the room, I was told to stop eating, since protocols were stricter and to cover my face. I literally couldn't produce milk because I could not be allowed to eat if she came into the room which was often since she was my assigned nurse. Perhaps she should have left each time so I could eat! The word unethical comes to mind. I hope this nurse is investigated. And although my direct doctor seemed kind she offered to tie my tubes right after I gave birth and was in no state of mind to consent to this, nor was it part of my birth plan. This was my first baby, why was this offered to me after I literally just pushed my baby out? I beg this hospital to do a thorough investigation before a life is lost or you incur one hell of a lawsuit. Again I wonder how many other women of color are offered to tie their tubes right after they give birth and are not in a state of mind to consent.
