Merriman Taxes came highly recommended to me by a fellow entrepreneur - I am glad I took advantage of this referral because it has saved us THOUSANDS in taxes in the first year alone. Alicia is patient and a great educator. As a fairly new business owner - I can confidently say I don't know what I don't know - but Alicia will explain it to me like I am 5 if I needed her to. I now understand how people become close with their CPA's!

I worked with Alicia for the better part of three years ending in April of 2023. I have offices in Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles Counties and have been in business for over 22 years. I enlisted Merriman Tax Services because I wanted to upgrade from letting my CPA do my bookkeeping, and utilize a local small business to accomplish that goal. Alicia is very talented--she knows her stuff. She has great marketing colors and images. Her financials are very attractive and, on the surface, detailed. Unfortunately that's where the quality ends. She left messy financials with accounts like "unapplied cash bill payments" on them; she failed to reconcile multiple accounts in some cases for months; on one occasion she took payment for a task she contracted for but didn't complete, and said nothing about it until confronted. Communication-wise, she alienated each of my staff whom she interacted with, and probably does so in her own office because her turnover was horrendous and ultimately she was farming me out to a nice gentleman (but c'mon, you're a local small business) in India. Towards the end, she was very unprofessional: when I asked her for a P&L for 2022, she would only do a 4th Qtr FS and apparently out of spite, never would do a 12-month document! Who does that?! In summary, Alicia was petty, she was occasionally childish and seemingly malicious. She was without a doubt the least professional provider I have worked with in my many years of communicating with a diverse number of vendors. Cannot recommend her less as a service.

Alicia is Amazing to work with. She is very thorough and extremely professional. She made sure I was completely satisfied and understood my tax return. I will definitely be a long time client for Merriman Tax Services!!!

Merriman Tax Services was recommended by a good friend of mine and my husband and I decided to give them a try and here we still are with them for two years now and we are extremely pleased. Our experience has been satisfactory in all aspects. The questions we asked were answered with such detail. Anytime we would call their office it was/is with such excellent customer service and if we weren't able to get a hold of them right away a phone call was always made to us before the day ended. They delivered thoroughness in every section of this nerve wrecking tax process as we all have experienced; needless to say Alicia exceeded our expectations and went this far suggesting my retirement options with such genuine interest. I highly recommend them!Thank you for your services and your dedication to your customers!

I have been going to Merriman Tax Services for 2 years now, and I have never had a more satisfying experience when dealing with a tax service. The ease of use when completing the necessary and sometimes cumbersome details on the site is one of my favorite features. I will never sit in an hours long que at a regular office again. Plus Alicia is extremely responsive and very reliable with her deadlines. I don't dread that yearly "tax time" anymore.

I am a Business Owner and looking to expand services and start hiring my first employees. I made some mistakes last year with my finances and knew I needed professional help. The team at MTS has been understanding and non-judgmental. It has been a pleasure to work with them and sort through my information for taxes. How many people can say that? I have worked with Alicia in another professional capacity before. She has always been very honest and professional. Recently needed my tax documents prepared and on short notice she made it happen! Very responsive and probably the easiest tax work transactions I've ever experienced.
