Banks usually want to be perceived as trustworthy, strong, reliable, etc. First Citizens is CREEPY. I went to the local branch to open an account. Even though I was the only customer and the employees were not busy, Lindsey said that I would need to make an appointment, but had me fill out paperwork right away. Beatriz took copies of my license and debit card and asked me to return with bank statements from a current account. It seemed odd that they had the time for chit chat, etc. but were going to make me return for an appointment to open the account. I figured that they wanted the time to run a credit check, but they didn't say that. When I returned for my appointment, the previously odd behavior became creepy. I sat down with Beatriz. A woman, hovering over us, introduced herself as "Supervisor." Was she supposed to be intimidating? Beatriz had done her homework. She had investigated the bank named on my debit card and had pulled the credit report. She and Supervisor had obviously seen something that they didn't like. However, instead of being honest with me, Beatriz began with questions that could have been accusatory if they hadn't been so stupid. With my bank's address in hand, she asked, "Where is your bank?" It's an online bank. Then, looking at the bank statements I had brought, "Why are there mobile deposits?" It's an online bank. "There are checks deposited." It's a bank. Then, she continued with gas lighting and lies. As the questions became more personal having nothing to do banking, I became uncomfortable. She began asking for particulars on my clients saying that she was protecting me from fraud. That made no sense, but she kept repeating it. Finally, she said that First Citizens Bank is a business bank. They don't really deal with personal accounts. By this time, I was no longer focused on Beatriz's crazy questions and comments. I was worried that these women were going to try to steal my identity or at least the money from my other bank account. This is the scary thing: These people had my social security number and a copy of my drivers license and my debit card. Beatriz was clearly deceitful, and Supervisor was a very shady character lurking about and eaves dropping. I understand that banks need to be careful of fraud. Maybe they thought that I wanted to launder my social security check. I, too, need to be careful. Banks are run by people, and people are fallible - even those that work at banks. These people were willing to use deceit as a means of communication. I hope that they wanted nothing more than to get me out of their bank, and that they were not plotting something more sinister. First Citizens Bank is creepy.

I started banking at this location back when I was 17 when I first started working. It was a first federal at the time & a place where my dad banked. Since then this location became a one west and just recently has become first citizens. I have no issues with customer service. In fact the staff has been most helpful any time I have to go into the bank. I usually try to do as much online banking as possible, but I usually have to stop in to withdraw money to make change for work & they're always so accommodating so I really appreciate that. The only inconvenience is they take a lunch break during the day at the same time from 1145am-115pm leaving the bank closed and not being open on Saturday at all. I'm not sure if it's like that at all locations or just this one. I don't feel like they are fully staffed because I usually see the same 3 woman working if I ever go in. All in all it's not a bad place to bank, just have a little patience, they're doing their best.

I was with this bank when it was first federal.. loved them. Family style customer service.. Then it was bought out. Lost my back manager, then came an young guy. Didn't care for him but whatever. He c was ok. The tellers at one West forgot to deposit my money. Ummm what . Ok. Bought out again. I think I have to leave. The tellers are rude. And she said I had a deposit when it was a withdraw. It's just to much . . I'll be pulling as next week after I return

This is the worst bank I have ever seen. They even close the branch for lunch! For an hour and a half! Seriously? Lunch from 11:45 to 1:15 ? What is this !?

I was a very happy customer of One West Bank, then First Citizens Bank bought them. My branch (7th Street) used to have about eight people working there, who had been with the bank a long time, and had a very personal feel, now there's three, all new. The branch closes for lunch at 11:45 to 1:15, who know, when working people can get to the bank. Their online banking was down (broken) from 3:50 pm to 10:50 am and their "customer service" people were unaware and then in denial. I'll be moving my account and my Granddaughts account. I suggest that you do not consider this "bank" for your banking business.

Please stay away from First Citizens Bank. OWB was purchased by this very unethical bank. This branch has been my branch for years and I always had very good personal service. The manager is not any longer there and the new policies make it impossible to stay with First Citizens Bank. Will be moving all my funds and cutting my relationship with this institution. OWB would be a 5 Star institution and First Citizen would qualify for negative stars. The previous reviews seem to be of OWB and not the new one.Reply to the response:I do not have Facebook! This is the opposite of a 5 star institution. I can’t imagine that any First Citizen Customer that used to bank at OWB would give this bank more than a 1 star rating. I have spent two days and many hours with customer service! The employees are nice, but this company is kafkaesque and does not return calls. They do not resolve issues that could be resolved easily. I was a premier customer at OWB, they were always responsive and helpful. This bank is probably focused on commercial banking and does not value Certificate of Deposit customers. Shop around and you will see that this bank is probably one of the worst in the nation. There are many option out there, although this branch has been convenient and it is upsetting that it turned into this.UPDATE: October 3rd: I discovered Poppy bank nearby. Some former OWB employees are there. They have a 3% APR savings account and interesting CD accounts. After this negative experience I have to thank First Citizens for forcing my to look for a better bank and a far better rate. It all worked out at the end. The new manager of First Citizens Bank works out of another branch and is not able to resolve issues. So I would highly recommend that future customers shop around.

This bank is one of the most incompetent banks I've ever encountered. My father past away this year and named me a beneficiary of his savings account, which means with proof of identification I should be able to access the funds. Instead, I've been routed to a useless customer service number where no one knows the protocols and I have been bounced around numerous times. It's like they want to hold onto the funds! They are making an already painful time worst. I never speak to the same person twice and no one can give me a straight answer! They customer folks are unprofessional and lacking basic knowledge of what their policies are.

I originally wasn't happy about One West becoming First Citizens, and I was ready to move my recently matured IRA CD to another bank until I talked on the phone with First Citizens Bank manager Jacob. He was friendly, listened to my issues, and bent over backwards to help me get a better 12 month IRA CD rate than anyone else around was offering. I was really impressed with both Jacob and Beatrice, both of whom were super helpful.

I've had a hate/love relationship with this bank for the last few years.Today I want to write about the good people who work in this bank that makes it enjoyable to do business with.On my last visit Mr. Efren Zuňiga showed me that One West is still capable of providing exceptional customer service. He went above and beyond to make sure I felt appreciated and valued as a customer. Thanks Efren!Keep up the good work One West!

This banks must be going broke !!!!I bought a cashiers check for $9500 a few weeks ago by taking the money out of my account. I did not end up using it for the purpose i needed it for so i took it back and just wanted to cash it. seems simple right? Not at this crazy place. was told ‘we don’t have that much cash!!!!’ we can only give you $2,000 today. So they sell cashiers checks but they then won’t honor/negotiate there own cashiers checksi guess it’s 1929 all over again. that’s the year all the banks went out of business and went broke in case you’re not familiar with that.

Who are are bozos running this bank? 9 months into covid and you haven't figured out how to be open more then 4 hours a day? - Here's a little bit of information - Dr David Price had a video published in March that was called "how not to be afraid of your neighbor". That information appears to be spot on. Regardless of how many hours, days or weeks SARS-CoV-2 lives on a surface, inanimate objects are a piss poor mode of transmission and you don't need to be closed like you are afraid and hiding in the cupboard! When I opened my account at this branch, the hours were an important issue. I have multiple bank accounts- BofA, US Bank, Wells Fargo = they all have regular hours. I thought I would give a small bank a shot - multiple days to open the online services -- did we time travel to 1998? The only thing that you have proven to me is that you don't offer anything over the big guys! My account will be closed, soon enough.

This is a follow up to my previous reviews to OneWest. My $65 deposit is lost and no one seems to find it. I talked to the branch manager Jennifer who told me that Reg Man Jeff was going to call me, he never did. I called him myself and left messages but two weeks later, I haven't heard from him. I cannot believe this is happening to me, but it is. My money is missing from their ATM machine and all they say is that the deposit envelope was empty, how could this ever happen at a bank? I made a deposit of $65, that much I know

My husband and I went with OneWest/CIT Bank for our mortgage and it was a terrible experience! They have some of the worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. The underwriter asked us for the same documents 6 different times. They are so unorganized, very bad at explaining what they want from you, very hard to reach, and refused to work with our realtor/title company. They are so rude and absolutely work on their own schedule and do not care about their customers at all! We worked with Carles (Mortgage Lending Specialist I), Moe (VP Sales Manager), and Ruben (Loan Processor). I am not sure how any of them still have a job. We were on the phone with them every day (or attempted to call them at least 3x a day) for about 3 weeks before our closing to pressure them into making our closing date. We did end up closing on the same date we notified them about (which we notified them 2 months in advance about) but they pushed back the closing time until the very end of the day. I would highly suggest to NOT banking/taking out a mortgage with them. Literally makes me sick just thinking about all the stress they put us through.

I've been banking here for about 20 years, and always considered the staff to be courteous and helpful. Never really thought much about it - I just considered it to be a nice, personal bank. Lately I've needed to do some more involved banking, and Jacob was incredibly helpful. He got me better rates than those posted, and made terrific suggestions about how to get my money working for me. Also, when I was depositing a check, the teller alerted me to a promotional account that would earn me an excellent interest rate that was much better than the account in which I was planning to deposit the check.
