They cannot answer the phone to save their life or the patients and after ringing it a few times they automatically started sending it to voicemail. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Honestly, I am not sure how many stats ti give this hospital. I only came here to keep a friend company in the waiting room. All I can say is the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my friend's sister passed away. Again, the Chaplin was extremely kind and helpful. He came to us several times to make sure that we were okay and to pray with us (if we wanted). So, for these reasons I will give the hospital 5

I despise that this is my closest hospital! I went to the er for some medically needed med and some iv fluid. But next thing I know I'm being admitted ( not a big deal) but when I ask why they tell me I'm going to ICU with no medical indication. I protest to the idea (non aggressivly) so they 4-point restrain me down inill I'm at my bed ( am miraculously in no further need of restraint because they were never needed an just a form of domination and torture. The ICU is no better. No one knows what they are doing, especially at night. Many many other mistakes have need but too long for here (1-24 -present) Also the cafeteria is awful as well The response from st Mary's just lead to a voice mail. They do not care about my response. Worst hospital ever.

This review is going to focus on the ICU department because that's where my mom spent most of her time here. First of all, the severity of her condition left all of us worried if she would make it. During her stay we had MANY wonderful nurses, residents, specialists and doctors. Not only did they treat my mom like their own family but they seemed to genuinely have an investment in her well-being. Each new milestone she achieved, we rejoiced together and each setback she had we all cringed and hoped for the better. The nurses were phenomenal, the care, kindness, consideration, effort, and overall demeanors made my sister and I not only feel comfortable but also safe with leaving our mom in their care. The doctors were proactive, informative, and honest. They made us feel completely informed about our decisions and were available to answer our questions or requests (when available ). My sister and I truly feel like my mom was able to fight the good fight because she was surrounded by so many people with such amazing hearts. I cannot remember everyone (sorry if I leave you out, just know we appreciate you too), but I would like to shout out some key players who will forever have a place in our hearts and prayers . Kate: You rock! You have an amazing soul and we were blessed to have you. Ferdie: You are the man!!! It felt like family having you take care of mom. Mari: You are the sweetest person ever and you always made us feel safe. Devon: You were a ray of sunlight and always offered us reassurance and peace. Dr. Tadlaui (sorry if I misspelled your name) :You are by far one of the best and most hardworking doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Your knowledge, expertise, advice, assertiveness, encouragement , and overall personality truly gave my sister and I the courage to make the "tough" decisions. We will forever be grateful for you and my mom was truly blessed to have you working so hard for her. To all of our night nurses (Ken , Cornelius, Ronald, Bernie ...etc) thanks for helping our mom rest as comfortably as possible! Take care all of you

Ernest, Rn, Telemetry 7floor. He was my son nurse, and he really went above and beyond in caring for my son. He is a great listener, even when he was busy, he never seem upset to be interrupted. He even got drinks for my son. I'm so glad you hired him. He is truly a caring person and you can tell he loves his job.

I was taken by ambulance to St, Mary's after suffering a hemorrhagic stroke. I was in intensive care for 3 days, a step-down floor for 2 days and spent the next 30 days on the rehab floor. I can't say enough about the 5th floor. The nurses were always kind and responsive. And the Physical and Occupational Therapists and Speech Therapist were excellent and caring. They worked long and hard to get me functioning again. I'm still working on stuff but am practically back to my normal walking and making progress with my arm. I can't say enough about the rehab floor at St. Mary's.

1. 11/4/23. This hospital transferred my 89 year old mother, recently diagnosed with dementia to SADDLEBACK HOSPITAL in ORANGE COUNTY without calling me to let me know. Mom lives with me, I am her caregiver and only family here. I was literally in the ER with her and the Dr. Told me he was admitting her to ST Mary's yesterday. The ER Charge nurse told me they don't always call family or the caregiver when patients are transferred to another hospital, they don't always have time. 2. 10/2/23. Mom spent 2 weeks here and when I picked up her medication the pharmacist made a point to tell me one of the NEW prescriptions should NOT be taken with her other medications. I asked if he meant she should take one in the AM and the other PM, he said NO, the medications should NOT be taken together at all, HIGHLY DANGEROUS. I asked why they prescribed them together then? His answer. " I don't know" If the pharmacy would have missed this, I would have given her the new medication. 3. 12/2022. Mom was taken here for a heart attack. The cardiologist, Dr. Sobnosky, wanted to do a procedure and was talking to mom about OPEN HEART SURGERY. My mom is 89, she has a cardiologist she sees every 3 months affiliated with Memorial Care Hospital, he has repeatedly told us she is not a candidate for surgery and would likely not survive. I explained this to Dr Sobnosky and she looked right at me and told me my mom could speak for herself and continued to ignore me when I explained to her mom is easily confused, cannot hear or always understand what they are saying to her. I had to tell her my brother has medical POA to abruptly shut her down. Some Drs see $$ and this Dr should not be caring for the elderly. Whenever the paramedics take mom I ask them to take her to memorial care hospital where all of her physicians are but they always tell me it's out of their control and they have to take her wherever there is a bed available. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!

Make sure you have insurance that will cover the cost of your visit. If not, is hospital will pump you with morphine and send you home in the same state you walked in with.

I have worked in medical centers/hospitals for over 30 years and I have never had experienced such incompetent medical care as we experienced for our family member. This location was the closest to take the patient by the ambulance service but it required all family members who visited to be constantly questioning why or who would take care of basic issues such as feeding the patient, brushing her teeth, brushing her hair, cleaning her hands, and addressing various medical issues that resulted in the two weeks our family member was there. Oh and the ridiculous wait time when I called the hospital was so unacceptable. I would call daily in the am to assess how the patient was doing and at times I would wait on hold greater than 25 min for the initial calling attempt to just talk to a live person to get connected to the floor/unit clerk. The apathy of the employees from the front desk to the nursing staff was so surprising. Why should I have to make sure she was not discharged before all her medical issues were addressed? Why did I have to verify that all her medicines were being given to her? Why did I have to ask the md and rn staff to address breathing issues I was noticing? Why did I have to constantly need to have someone there to watch the team to make sure my family member was getting the basic care? I did notice one good thing which was the nursing aides were the attentive and responsive to our concerns. The md staff I spoke to made us feel we were expecting above and beyond when we questions the poor care and follow through.

I posted a review 5 months ago for the same thing. After that experience I would not have returned back to St. Mary's but I am a Dignity Health Employee and Dignity has strong armed us into getting treated at their facilities or it's 100% out of pocket. This time my daughter had a MRI on 6/2. They said the results would come back yesterday. Called and left a message yesterday and, again, today. No call back and my doctor still hasn't received the results. I originally planned to do this at Miller Children's Hospital until I found out it wasn't covered by insurance. My Memorial Care Doctor said she would have had the results the same day If not the next day. However, I'm stuck in limbo ridden with anxiety about my daughter brain MRI.
