However, to my disappointment, I discovered that there were no restroom facilities available for its members.As a multimillion dollar credit union, one would expect basic amenities to be provided for the convenience of its customers. By neglecting something as fundamental as restroom access, Southland Credit Union risks alienating its members and tarnishing its reputation.I urge Southland Credit Union to prioritize the comfort and convenience of its members by addressing this issue promptly. Accessible restroom facilities are not just a luxury but a necessity, especially for an institution serving a diverse clientele in a bustling city like Long Beach.Overall, my experience at Southland Credit Union was marred by this oversight, and I hope that they take this feedback seriously to improve their services in the future.

Not a very good credit union if you're going to the ATM they're always broken or never working correctly I hate this place I wish you would update its machines

I have been coming to this Southland more often due to frustrations I've had at the Carson location, mainly for deposits or questions and concerns, but I notice it's much more faster here, less frequent errors with the outside machine and the customer service is excellent here at this location.

This is one of the cleanest and nicest banks. They have great customer service, and really get all your customers in quickly and efficiently. Never had any problems with the banking or errors on my account, which is wonderful to get through everything updated. Definitely an easy bank to come to vs Bank of America and Wells Fargo.

Not sure what is going on with SCU, but my wife's account erroneously was charged a Non-Sufficient Fund's Fee and charged $29.00 for online bill payment that she clearly had funds for. The $29.00 NSF Fee was reversed, however since the check was rejected a new check needed to be reissued per the 1st representative. It gets worse. We found out that the original check went through and since she re-issued a new check, she essentially paid twice. After calling again the next day to speak with a representative from the bill pay department, we were advised that she was out of luck for cancelling the 2nd payment and would have to contact the institution it was sent to in order to cancel it. Sorry that it happened, it's your problem now, just deal with it is basically how it was put to us.

I'm new to long beach. Wanted to open a new account with a credit union. I prefer the personalized service that can be delivered. Unfortunately, unable to open an account. Asked for proof of residency. I have my signed and active lease agreement with address, etc information. Somehow not enough proof? But a hard copy electric bill is more proof than my thousands of dollar a month signed, active lease agreement? Come on guys. You can do better than this. I don't have a CA ID as I'm new here. I had my social security card, my ID, my check stubs, and my lease agreement. Shameful. Definately won't recommend to our contractors who have moved here as well.

Approval rate is horrible, your approved then your not approved. I don’t recommend , my response to your reply is if you can change the situation and make it things more clear because at this time your underwriter is not looking at the bigger picture .Also Who and what number do I contact ?

Idk if it's just me they aren't too fond of haha but every time I go in or call about info they are so dry and shady. The app is great and the actual products are good but at this location I never get a good vibe. Hopefully this changes I'm hopeful.

Southland CU is the best. I've been banking with them since I was 15 with their Teen Checking account. As soon as I turned 18, I worked with Herman at the Long Beach branch and he set me up with a credit builder credit card so that I can establish credit. He was very helpful and he taught me so much. I'm almost ready to finance my first car, and it feels good to know what Southland will take care of me. Thank you for everything!

Once again I applied for and received an upgraded home equity loan and the process was straightforward and efficient. They requested a minimum of documents and within a few weeks, I was able to sign the final documents in less than 15 minutes at the Los Alamitos branch. As a member for over 44 years I really appreciate this credit union that has always helped me with my financial needs. Their loan staff, tellers and other employees are always helpful, efficient and cordial. I highly recommended this credit Union.

SCU has the worst policies I've ever experienced, compared to other banks that I dealt with. First, the bank refused to let me open a checking account right away because there was a false credit report that showed I owed about $100 with another bank. When I showed the manager the statement that I paid it off, she still refused to let me open an account, causing me to miss on the $200 cash bonus. Second, the bank charged me $25 fee for depositing my check because the check has a different first name but with the same last name as appeared on the account. I know other well known banks accept the same check with no problems. Third, the bank charged me a $2 returned mail fee three times, even thought I already changed the online setting to electronic mail. Someone refunded me $2 only one time after I tried to change the mail setting again. Arguing with the workers there made me sick!

We applied with a home loan through Southland Credit Union. Paul Walker and his entire team (Andrea Wright, Sue Prom) were so fantastic and patient through the whole process from beginning to end, which was especially helpful to us as first-time buyers. Not only were they a pleasure to work with, but gave us the best rate of the lenders we spoke to, AND we closed on time. They were transparent, straight forward, and never made us feel like we were getting the runaround. We're truly glad to have chosen them as our lender through this process.
