Fantastic customer service. These people are over worked, underpaid and under appreciated. Despite this I have always been shown knowledgeable, andprofessional, customer service.

African America lady in the front needs better customer service. She expects you to know what to do, doesn't smile and just looks at you down. I didn't like her attitude. First and last time I'll come here.

The most terrible customer service. Every single worker seems miserable and so lazy. It’s clear they don’t want to help at all but still want that paycheck. How hard is it to process packages? I wish my job was that simple. I understand things get busy and we have bad days, but this is absolutely ridiculous! I’ve had one of the workers physically YELL at me because I had a missing package, but the key was put in the wrong box and I was accused of taking a key. They’ve refused services to me on multiple occasions for some bogus excuse. I used this post office for the convenience of the location close to where I live, but I will be taking my business to the UPS store. They’re way more friendly. Spread more love and be kind. It’s really not hard to do.

Worst post office, one person working here with 25 people in line! Only the government would get away with this. No private company could succeed being run this way!

Very busy location needs more people or more self service machines cause it sometimes goes out the door for to long.
Staff are decent not to mean but can be a pain to deal with.

Everything that plagues the US and state government can be found here. At first one gets the impression the facility is understaffed judging by the long line and unstocked compartments that usually have the typical mailing slips frequently used by customers.
After some simple observation one gets a better insight. The employees simply do not care. They just are there for that government paycheck and free ride.
Post Office could not pick less than qualified people to do the job if they chose people by lottery or winner at Tuesday bingo... combined with laws that necessitate diversity.
Backed by beauracratic red tape, these pencil pushers operate like emotionless robots with the efficiency of an eight year old. Its not their fault tho, the post office is required to fill positions based on red tape guidelines, so in the end you do not get people qualified to do their job , nor even like their job, but rather bodies to fill the numbers and collect a government paycheck.
Like any government facility, be prepared to wait, deal with moronic regulations, and staff better suited to be fliping burgers or collecteing unemployment (which would actually be giving taxpayers more for their tax dollar money).
If this was private sector everyone there would be fired.
Fed ex or ups are way better at customer service.

Erschelle had to be the rudest and meanest person ever!!
In general going to the USPS is literally a layer of Hell and I don't understand. From NY to CA there must be some satanic energy within the offices. The delivery people are more splendid to deal with.
BUT BACK TO THIS BIXBY *calling her out of her name in my head*
First of all I waited in line & and I was the ONLY one after the people she was assisting. & automatically was unwelcoming. Then Erschelle actually took the initiative to help me. So I thought that was nice UNTIL
Right away I told her I needed to pick up.
She said “How do you know you have a package”
I kindly told her Amazon said so
She asks for the name and address and it was under my Alias so ill take accountability for my alias.
However she was still RUDE AND HOSTILE. Asking me how am I affiliated with the address. I'm homeless and living in my van right now. So I package items to my best friends house.
Erschelle then gets a short philipina woman to back her up and when I tell you she was foaming at the mouth being so aggressive I had to let them know, this was uncomfortable and you guys are being aggressive and hostile.
The he moment I mentioned the word hostile the Philippine woman tried to calm down but was shaking her head as if she was possessed.
Spiritually I'm a Christian, so I was calm and attentive and I did not argue because I could see the mean spiritedness within these women. I was getting annoyed but in that moment I just said “I'm going to pray for you” & that really triggered the demons.
Erschelle said “she said Shes gonna pray for you for doing her job” (mind u the first woman who ant greeted me as laughing like a weird bully the whole time)
I said “no I'm going to pray for you because you're being mean and miserable”
I had to tell the Philippine woman about how you don't know what people are going through. I was picking up a tub so I can wash myself while living in a van. And here are these three wicked women having a power trip because they control our packages.
Its scary and unnecessary.
I encourage anyone who has had a bad experience with them to tell corporate ASAP. This is not a drill.

As a long-term resident of the area, living within walking distance of this post office for the past five years, I've experienced consistent negative energy during my visits. It's disappointing that I've had to switch to the Lakewood post office, turning a convenient walk into a drive, just to avoid the unpleasant atmosphere here.
The employees at this location seem perpetually unhappy. It's rare to see a smile or any semblance of friendliness. The overall vibe is bleak and the staff often appear disinterested and robotic. Interactions feel transactional at best, with little to no helpfulness or willingness to assist customers who may need guidance. This lack of customer service is particularly frustrating when faced with confusion over postal processes, only to be met with condescension or outright disregard.
On one occasion, I witnessed a young woman being treated with unnecessary hostility while trying to retrieve a package. She remained polite and patient, even when the staff's attitude was far from professional. Instead of offering assistance, they responded with sarcasm when she mentioned praying for them, which was completely uncalled for. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and it was the last straw for me.
The Lakewood post office, in stark contrast, is much more welcoming and accommodating. The staff there seem genuinely interested in helping customers and do so with a friendly demeanor.
It's troubling to think that the employees at the Atlantic Ave location might be struggling with something, whether it’s inadequate compensation or poor workplace conditions. I sincerely hope they receive the support they need, whether it’s in the form of better pay or training, or even a change in staff to bring in people who are eager to help and create a more positive environment. A simple smile and a helpful attitude can make all the difference.
In conclusion, until things improve at this location, I’ll be continuing to make the drive to Lakewood. It’s a shame that what should be a simple errand has become such an unpleasant experience.
