The Ahmanson Theatre is a gorgeous and nice theater, opened in 1967, known for hosting theatrical world premieres, award-winning shows, musicals, and direct-from-Broadway productions. The facility is well cared for, nicely maintained, very clean, and recently renovated with state-of-the-art staging and sound equipment. It is a good size theater where the views and line of sight are very nice from most seats; even from the steep balcony you can still see everything perfectly, though the height may trigger a fear of heights. The voice quality from the balcony and mezzanine isn't bad, but the orchestra seats offer a very good view for experiencing live theater. Parking is efficient, close, and affordable at $10 cash. Their website provides helpful directions for the parking lot and updates on road closures, which are also communicated via email. The staff, ushers, and attendants are always helpful, very kind, and hardworking. The outside area is beautiful and nice to sit at, walk around, or roam during intermission, and they often have little photo ops for shows. The restrooms are clean and have everything, though the women's lines can be long during intermission. A helpful tip for after the show is to bypass long escalator lines by using a designated staircase to reach the parking level faster. While the experience is generally good and easy, a complaint is that people are sometimes allowed to enter the theater long after the show has started, which can be disruptive.

This is a great place to see a play! There's lots of parking under the plaza and many food options nearby. The theater itself has great sightlines from all seats and good legroom so you are comfortable.

Amazing production of Mamma Mia! Performers were excellent and the show is very funny.
