The rental area had over 20 agent stations yet only 4 or 5 were in use for the 60 or 70 customers in line. It took more than an hour to be seen. And all the work we did on the web site prior to seeing an agent was not “seen” by the agent once we got to one. So even more time we wasted. Once outside there were two ppl giving out keys and about 30 ppl waiting in front of us. Another hour of waiting even tho we had made a booking thru Costco and filled out all the pre-reqs on your own web site prior to being seen. Highly inefficient.

By far the worst car rental experience ever. 2.5 hours waiting in long line at the counter and waiting over an hour for the car in a cool wind. Avis no longer .”tries harder”. This was normal according to one employee. Absolutely horrible- never again!

Our reservation was a success because we paid online and our car was ready just to arrive and go to our destination where we had an inconvenience when we returned the vehicle because it took me 30 minutes.And they charged me like $80 for that delay.

Worst car rental experience ever. Queue is gigantic and runs very low all the time (I had to come twice so trust me I know. First I came was at night, the guy at the counter said that I wasn’t allowed to rent the car, because I’m below 25 (after 1h30 wait). Next day I came with more info proving I can rent the car and the person on the counter agrees (after 2h wait). Finally get the car keys and I’m put outside on a very windy day for 40 minutes waiting for the car to come here. As I type this I am waiting so maybe it will even be more than 40 minutes.DO NOT RENT HERE, GO TO ANY OTHER CAR RENTAL, MANY ARE CLOSE BY.

Absolutely ridiculous service. 5-6 employees to serve 200+ customers. Took 2 hours to get checked in and 1.5 hours to get our car. Wasted half a day to get the wrong car. Cant believe they’re still in business.

I wish I could give ZERO stars! I left 3 brand new items in the trunk by mistake. Tag still on them all. Filed an Avis Lost & Found report online as requested and I was told my items couldn’t be found (meaning someone threw them away or stole them). I asked to be compensated and reimbursed and they said no. I was on the phone for over an hour with lost and found and with customer service. No one would help me. They told me to fly back to LA (I live in Florida) and speak with the counter in-person!!!!! I couldn’t believe it. What a joke. Please pick another rental company and tell your employer this location steals.

My scheduled pick up at Avis LAX was 12:30pm. I arrived in line at 12:25pm, made it to the counter at 1:15pm, received my Avis rental at 2:15pm. An approximate 2 hours of precious time. This began a domino effect causing my Wife and I to miss once in a lifetime experience of attending the live broadcast of the Jimmy Kimmel show.

I made my reservation a few days before starting my trip to LA. The service was excellent, I liked that they don’t try to make you take some extras based on fears of everything bad that can happen as other companies do. The car they gave us was in perfect condition, clean, comfortable. I really recommend Avis.
