Please don't get Banfield and get your dog spayed here!! When getting this insurance, please look into all the reviews because it's really that bad. Dog parents are very vulnerable and does everything the doctor says to save their pets. In my case, the doctor suggested surgery, did a malpractice on my dog, acknowledged that they made a mistake, and have taken no responsibility. Basically, My dog got spayed here and left one of the ovaries in there. Several Years later she started to get her period and go into heat. When I tried reaching out, they had already fired the doctor and said I will get compensation. Days and years later... still received any words, calls or answers. Just avoidance and ignorance.

Had an appointment at 3 called again to make sure they said actually it's 3:15 the previous receptionist made a mistake. Told them okay please send a receipt or email of appointment confirmation. No confirmation, we got there and they're rude saying the appointment was at 3. So we couldn't even been seen, the guy who made my appointment is here arguing with me while I made the appointment because my dog hasn't ate anything worried sick! Disgusting and not empathetic, refuse to accept that they can be wrong. Then we go in and they say my dog has an enlarged prostate. We went for second opinion at a hospital and he doesn't. Not only did the receptionist argue with me, but the vet. misdiagnosed my dog. That's my last strike!

Love Dr Betts. She was great with my mom's 15 year old dog. Super communicative and followed up with me for test results. The front desk staff is also really good, unfortunately the clinic hours are limited so I have to go to Pico instead to get my dogs in sometimes. This is my preferred Banfield in the city.

My experience with Banfield has been that the care they gave my pet was good, but they were not very transparent about locking me into their care plan. I wanted to get my dog a regular check up and dental cleaning and was told if I signed up for their monthly care plan, I would in essence be saving, since my dental cleaning would be included in the care plan for an initial $130-$140 entry fee and a $70 a month fee thereafter. What they failed to mention is that you are locked in for a year and furthermore, that their prices are significantly higher than other vets. So after my pet's first standard check up, I was shown a bill for nearly 1k with all the deductions I received for being on the care plan. I thought this was interesting, since I had been to other vets before that literally charged me under $100 for the same standard checkup. Months later, when I realized there was little need for this monthly plan of $70 a month, since all I had needed was one visit for her rabies shots and one dental cleaning, I was told if I cancelled the plan, I would have to pay the outstanding balance of around $1500. So $1500 for one vaccine shot and one dental cleaning? I'm not sure which clinics everyone here takes their pets to, but this sounded unreasonable to me. In the end, I was forced to remain on the plan, paying $70 a month for the entire year, with no use for this service, since it doesn't actually cover anything beyond a standard check up. Long story short, beware of the fine print.

The team here at benifeld were very caring and lovely in helping me and my family put Popeye to rest. After 13 awesome years It was very important to me that Popeye was taken care of and this vet went above and beyond. Dr Betts was super nice and Patient with us from the beginning to the very end it was a positive experience... Thanks Dr Betts, Ana , Daisy, Nadia. Appreciate all of u there.

My dog is 9 years old and I've been with Banfield since she was 6 months. From Chicago, to Utah, to California. I love that they are everywhere. It makes it easy to transfer care out of state. Although I didn't have the best experiences at the Orem in Utah location, I now go to this location in LA since I have moved here. I have had great experiences here. The ladies at the front are always sweet. I feel like sometimes they could use some help because it can get crazy with calls and people waiting in line but the place also looks small so I'm not sure that they could even staff more. I believe my vets name is Dr. Marshall? And she is really amazing. My husky has Cushings Disease. Since I've been with Marshall she has been really understanding and is very personable. More recently, she was not in office one day and they had an on-call vet and I wish I remembered her name because she was phenomenal. I really picked her brain about Cushings disease; recommendations for my dogs coat from shampoos to nutrition to help. She was so full of ideas and it was so helpful and calming. Some vets I've had my dog go to have made me feel helpless with my dog's disease. And this on-call vet went out of her way to print me brands she uses personally for her pups and spent extra time with my dog and I. I am thankful for the staff. I know you guys get busy but you guys do the best you can and it shows. So thank you!

My Fiancé paid for pet insurance for YEARS. When one of his dogs was stolen they told us we had to pay the full amount (or retail cost of charges during the year) to the end of the contract which thankfully is only another three months. Talk about painful! Pay for a Wellness Plan on a dog stolen or eaten by a coyote. It makes me want to throw up knowing my wonderful sweetheart will remember for three months every time he pays an $85 bill for a friend that is gone. Thanks a lot Banfield, who's gonna pay for the therapy? Oh, and we caught them overcharging us for services we didn't receive and services (fingernails trimmed) that weren't done. Cancelling both contracts, go stress someone else out. I'll drive back to my old Vet in Fresno before I see you, again. Just awful. How could you do that to someone for a lousy $255?

To Banfield’s management team, please hire more staff to answer your phones. It is impossible to get through to someone and if someone is able to answer the hold time is ridiculously long. I was on hold for 18 mins. Your Saturday staff needs more support. I’ve been trying your la cienega location since 8 am. Your Culver city and mid city location does not answer either. Why kind of business are you running? Please hire more staff!

This place can really great and also not so great. It's great if you're on a budget and need immediate care. Their payment plans are amazing! The one star is for that. Remember you pay for what you get and in this case, what you DON'T get. Every fall season my pup goes crazy with scratching and biting himself raw. Creams and sprays don't really help. He was given medicated shampoo but again not much help. I finally caved and decided to get him an allergy test. Turns out he's completely good except for dust mites. Dust mites unfortunately live everywhere no matter how clean your house so there's that. I was given an option for two different treatments I could order-- an oral medication or injections. I was quoted both and chose the the oral because COVID and times are tough for everyone. Anyway, the medication came in and I was called and informed they misquoted the original price and apologized. Unfortunately, the new price was out of my range so I declined. Since then I've saved up and thank goodness because my pup's allergies are back and as bad as ever. I called to see if I could now receive the medication. I was informed that I could but only after I paid for the other one that was expired (this was from September 2020) and won't be able to use since the hospital bought it on my behalf despite being mis quoted. So I asked the vet, so just to be clear, I can get mediation for my dog but only after I pay for expired medication that I won't be able to use? She said "yes." So my plan of saving up backfired on me because now I have to pay DOUBLE for one dosage of medicine. I asked to speak with their chief of staff but was informed the information I was receiving was directly from them. Yikes. Anyway they'll take care of your fur babies but if you walk upright on two legs, they're not really looking out for you or show much empathy. Maybe I should show up on a leash and a cone on my head for some understanding ;)

RUN and do not give Banfield or this location your time or money. I don't even know how to process the horrible experience and customer service that this Banfield La Cienega location put me though. The front desk at this location is incredible incompetent and go out of their way to inconvenience you. For the last week or so, I've been trying to get a prescription filled for my little Chi. The first week, I couldn't get far because the Dr was on vacation. I called the front desk several times and asked if I can get the prescription filled through Chewy, they said that's fine. Then when the Dr. returned from vacation, I had to call almost half a dozen times to get an answer from the Dr. Then I was told by the front desk that the prescription had to be filled at this location. I was that was fine as long as I would get it this week. My Chi has been suffering from terrible itching and Apoquel was recommended by a Banfield Nutritionist. It's been excrutiating seeing him itch all day. I drove 45 minutes to the hospital and when I get to the front desk, they blythly tell me that they don't even have the Apoquel in stock. WHAT??? How come they didn't mention that at all and I called them twice that day to confirm that I was coming. To add salt to the wound, I asked what can I do and the woman at the front desk said that I should call another Banfield to have it filled. WHAT??? Why can't you do that??? Isn't that your job?? I would have done that in the first place but they made it seem like I had to come there. But she knew that all the other Banfields would be closed by the time I got there and since every location is closed on Sunday. So my dog has to needlessly suffer for several more days before I can get this perscription filled. The level of their disrespect. Please know they do not care about your dog or pet at this location. They only care about signing you up for the expensive medical plan and then they go out of their way to waste your time. STAY AWAY!!! Do not pass go. Just put the money you'd spend on their silly plan into a savings account for your dog - trust me you'll be better off.

I had suspicions when it said $36 then as I went to checkout online, it said $60 processing fee added for no reason! Wow. I dont know why they call themselves a hospital. They are more like an outpatient center and I went to the one in Beverly Hills by the Beverly Connection Mall, the one lady was on the phone so I was waiting forever while the person on the phone asked all the question I had already found answers to online. She should have said I have someone in front of me please go online and you'll find the answers to your question. My dog was in a lot of pain and I had carried her all the way there and in the heat. Another girl came up and seemed happy to call my dog cute, but then when it came down to business she was rude and didn't seem like she wanted to be there or helping. She said they were booked, I asked for any other low cost place or emergency care and she kept saying I dont have any information to give you, when I was staring the whole time at a sign right behind her head saying the name of a place and it said 24 hour care on the sign. It's not about the pets here, it's about getting their monthly membership fees! Then after that who cares that quality customer service never is delivered. My cell wasn't working and I asked her if she could call the place on the sign and ask their address? And she replied oh we have to keep the lines open. So Im there with a dog in my arms crying with a broken leg and Im not important enough to call and try to get her emergency care with a sign they were advertising right there behind the desk. Wow this is a money making scheme place. Keep the lines open for posibility of duping more people into paying their monthly membership fees which you are stuck in for a years contract once you pay the first month. But then, an actual pet is right in front of you that is whimpering in pain and you can't be bothered to pick up the phone and make a short call.

I got my sweet puppy neutered here. They stuck all four of her limbs multiple times trying to give her fluids and when I went to pick her up told me she was “not cooperative” absolutely and completely unprofessional. The signs pointed more towards someone not knowing how to properly do their job. I do not trust this vet!
