I booked a night at this hotel and was extremely disappointed with the dirty room and broken air conditioning. To top it all off I was charged an extra $35 dollars on top of what Booking.com quoted me. When I asked the hotel about this fee I was told it was for parking a car that I didn't have.Stay away.

Retro older, cute, mostly remodeled. Lobby is cute. Nice pool, all rooms surround the pool, three stories. No parking lot, hotel charges $25 night for valet parking, averaging 10 minutes turnaround. Elevator is antique and subjected to breakdowns.Rooms are small and have been mostly redone, however, definitely need a little help.Wool blanket has hole. Carpet has 8ft tear, taped across, insufficient electrical plugs.Bathroom was very well done and beautiful. Large shower, plentiful amount of hot water.Location wonderful, 7blocks from cedar Sinai, my destination. Also great food next door at coffee shop.

I used to adore this hotel, considering it my top choice whenever I needed a room. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been marred by the male night staff member. His demeanor is far from what one expects in a customer-facing role. In fact, he's one of the most unfriendly, unaccommodating, and impolite individuals I've ever encountered at a hotel front desk. During my last stay, he flatly refused to extend my booking when I approached him. Instead, he instructed me to return at 10 AM the next morning. However, when I did so, I was informed that I should have extended the previous night because they were fully booked. This situation left me understandably frustrated and bewildered, especially since their own staff member had prevented me from extending my stay the night before.

Stayed here for just a night solo and loved it. Clean, organized, friendly service, diner attached, valet. It has a very classic LA feel while being close to classic LA spots. Would highly recommend for anyone.

After reserving a room for surgery appointment near Cedar Sinai, we arrived to the lobby and were told that our room was cancelled and relisted. No warning and no email. Trying to talk to the front staff, both were radically dismissive and rude to us, lying about the times they had cancelled it and forwarding a message.Forcing one to show me the activity with our account on their software management page, it showed that he cancelled it, and responded with, "it is what it is". And ignored everything afterwards.I've filed with the BBB.

We really enjoyed our stay at Beverly Laurel Hotel. The hotel has embraced the 50’s hotel vibe & it really works. Sure if you look hard enough, you can see the ‘rough’ edges but all in all, the property is near, clean & tidy. We stayed in room 321 which was right in front of the elevator The room was neat & tidy & there was plenty of room.PROS- Long bench / desk to store everything- Bar fridge- 2 double beds- Large shower- Air conditioner- 5 minute walk to Fairfax Ave (very regular bus service going to Hollywood Blvd)- Diner downstairs with great offerings- 5 minute walk to laundromat- the staff were very helpfulCONS- The air conditioner cuts in & out as it turns on & off so if your a light sleeper, this may be a problemIf you like a hotel with all the bells & whistles, then the Beverly Laurel is not for you. If you want a comfy affordable place to stay which is close to a main thorough fare to see LA, then I highly recommend the Beverly LaurelNearby activities: 5 minute walk to Fairfax Avenue where you can catch the 217 to Hollywood Boulevard or to the train to go to Santa Monica Boulevard

Unsafe, disgusting, and worse than a extremely cheap motel. Room 305 & 306 on the too floor are leaning away from each other right in the middle for some odd reason leaving gaps in the doors that pose a security and fall risk to its guests. After 5 minutes of being in the room and noticing these unsafe conditions and going back downstairs the front desk concierge was rude and had said we sat on the bed so we couldn't get a refund. Asked to speak to the manager and he said they're away for the entire weekend. Had to call my credit card company and dispute the charge. Stay away from this place, cheaply renovated with no amenities, rude staff, and poor management.

A boutique hotel in a perfect location. Near the grove and farmers market. Rooms are basic but clean. Good service.

A little retro, but that's their thing. Clean and the pool area is nice. Has valet so you it's nice to pull up and not worry about parking.

The front desk rats were extremely racist to me. I tried to contact Joseph the general manager, but they will not give names or information. I recommend anyone asian to avoid this establishment and report the front desk staff.

This place is great! Very central location to many local Los Angeles sites, and it's right by the Grove. Diner downstairs. No extras though. But it's very fifties and kitschy! Beds are so comfortable. Shower so good I was in there for 20 minutes!Walkability: Walking distance to the Grove.

Rooms are comfortable and clean, front desk service was great, we parked our own vehicles but I guess they want you to use their valet which is out on the front street. So they gave us tickets for the valet. But we are in a rush in the morning so we just ask for our keys. It wouldn't grabbed our own cars, the pool closed at 8:00. We're kind of bummed because we got in about 9:00 and wanted to hit the pool and a hot night. The showers were lukewarm. Location is great for the Hollywood area.Safety: Nice clean, quiet upscale neighborhood.Walkability: Connected to a restaurant, coffee shops within a 5 minute walk, and other stores within walking distance.Food & drinks: Food and drinks options within short walking distance.

Excellent place to stay.I was recently dislocated from my apartment because my building was in a fire. I was traumatized. I lost my car and a number of my things were unsalvageable. I needed a clean and quiet but cheerful environment to stay at and get my head together. Beverly Laurel was just around the corner from my apartment and I remember my Dad really loved the hotel when he stayed there, so I made a reservation for two nights and ended up staying for four nights! It was that good.I can't rave enough about the staff. Sal and Mario at the front desk were a so kind and understanding- I knew there were moments where I just wasn't making any sense, but they were patient and intuitive. Everyone at the front desk always greeted me with a warm smile. They were quick to help me whenever I asked for something. The valets, who had to park my car, which was packed with my smoky scented belongings, were attentive and friendly. They never complained about the scent of my car or the fact that it was packed to the hilt with stuff. They found out what had happened, and at that point, they just went above and beyond to make sure my needs were accommodated. They even had a moment to open up a friendly conversation to make sure everything was okay. The hotel, itself, is very clean and very cheerful. It hearkens back to another time, but in a good way! It is fully restored from the original bones, but in a fun, retro silver screen Hollywood sort of way. The pool is a lovely oasis, complete with hanging wicker chairs and comfy chaise lounges.Swingers, a neighborhood favorite diner, is attached to the hotel, so you don't have to go far for a delicious quick bite.I would most certainly stay here again, and probably will. It was worth every single penny.
