They take reservations but they don't honor them. I reserved a 26-foot truck to move my family from North Carolina to Oregon. Luckily the owner of the gas station where I was supposed to pick up the truck called me in advance to warn me of Budget's shenanigans. "We don't have a truck of that size. We haven't had a truck of that size in years. You need to call Budget." I did and wasted a day with various "customer service" representatives who made hollow promises of arranging for another truck. I finally got a "manager" to admit to go with another company. I did: Penske.

TLDR Abraham is great and the team turned my nightmare experience into smooth sailing.I originally scheduled to get a moving van from the North Hollywood location ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE in anticipation for my move up state. Thankfully I had a bad gut feeling, and to my dismay when I called to verify two weeks later, they told me they would not have the vehicle I requested or ANYTHING AT ALL for me to take the day I had requested. (They were also extremely difficult to contact.)Thankfully I got a hold of this Budget Truck Rental location and their team handled everything entirely on their end. They did the calling, cancelling, and rescheduling to their store with very little contacting from me. Abraham is the person of contact when I arrived at the location answering every concern I had and being a friendly employee. They regained my full trust making my move easy as possible.I went from having no van available to getting a brand new box truck for my move up state at the last minute, and I am willing to vouch for this location greatly. Thank you for reading.

An absolute nightmare. This isn't entirely Budget's fault - Uhaul canceling my reservation an hour after I needed to pick up the truck shares some of my anger. However, we scrambled to get another moving truck because there was a specific window when we could meet the leasing agent to get the keys and move in. The agent told us that a moving van would be available at 11am which would have been tight but was doable. Instead, he didn't arrive with our truck until 2 hours later, blowing way past our deadline. He was nice enough to provide us a discount which was completely canceled out when he didn't process our return paperwork properly and I got a surprise late charge for $500 on my card. I've learned to just hire professional movers from now on, because these DIY options aren't worth the money I thought I was gonna save.

I had an excruciatingly painful experience with U-Haul and will NEVER rent from them again so when I had a small local move, I started calling around. Customer service seems to have disappeared during the Pandemic, but two places (of 8-10 called) stood out: Avon and Doshi Arco (Budget). Both of these companies tried to help me out and ultimately I went with Doshi because Avon was sold out. The gentleman I spoke with to make the reservation was very kind and I felt satisfied that I made the right choice. Pickup and drop off of the rental was flawless and speedy. The truck was clean and in perfect operation. This is the only place I will rent from in the future.

The individual that runs this particular Budget rental, Doshi, is truly one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. There was a truck shortage the weekend of my move and while the budget corporate staff offered no solutions to my predicament, Doshi went out of his way to send one of his employees two hours away to pick up a truck, pick me up from my house, and send me on my way. If you are renting from Budget in LA this is the ONLY location you should consider!

tl;dr if you have to rent from Budget (which I DO NOT recommend, see below), do it with Doshi. So this review is about Doshi, not about Budget Truck rental. If this was a review of Budget Truck Rental they would get zero stars. I reserved a 26' truck a couple weeks ago for a long distance move that also included coordinating movers and packers to help us load the truck. Doshi being the friendly, professional, and competent man he is confirmed both 5 days before and the day before I was supposed to pick up my rental. The big day arrives, there movers come and start packing my stuff and staging it in our parking lot in anticipation of the truck. I get a call from Doshi about 90 minutes before I was supposed to get my truck starting that he just got word it was going to be 90 minutes late. *Sigh*, ok, these things happen, I'll deal with it. Fast forward to 30 minutes before my new pick up time and I get another concerned call from Doshi stating that he was just informed that my truck, that I scheduled in advance all the other labor and accomodations around won't be available until tomorrow at the earliest. Meanwhile he is fighting on my behalf with corporate Budget to get them to call me and work something out or at least give me a timeline. Nobody from corporate ever calls me and Doshi has to give me a special customer service number to explain my situation (all my stuff in the parking lot waiting for a truck that may or may not be available and 4 men charging me an hourly rate). Corporate Budget assures me they understand the urgency of my situation, and tells me that someone had been assigned my case and will get back to me immediately (well between 15 minutes and 2 hours) because they're so sympathetic to my situation. Fast forward another two hours, no word from customer service and now the sequence of extensions I was using now sends me to a different service after waiting on hold for twenty minutes. During this entire time Doshi is giving me updates on his progress of attempting to internally escalate this (they stopped returning/answering his calls). 5 hours later I give up on every hearing anything from Budget corporate regarding my $2k rental and have the movers (whom I'm still paying for by the way) move all my stuff from being staged in the apartment parking lot back upstairs. And for a final update, despite all their platitudes and assurances, 7 hours after they yanked the rug out from under me, Budget customer service still hasn't bothered to call me back.

Service unlike any other rental. The trucks are new, clean, and smoke free. The staff are very friendly and prompt.

EXTREME Contradiction on Their PRICES!!!! End of the month to beginning of the month is a lot higher than mid-month & weekday I even talked w/their chat talk and was told it is based by mileage. NO True. Then as I was contact via email about the discrepancy for further information. I provided screenshots of my dates & price quote & the text from live chat. Oooh ... they apologized and would pass on my complaint. Can you imagine the hundreds of thousands of dollars budget profits misleading trusting customers ??? Are You One???

Abraham was pleasant and extremely helpful. He went above and beyond, making my customers experience the best one possible. His knowledge of the product was immense and had a strong impact on my decision to rent with Budget. This gentleman deserves a raise! Even better, Budget should hire Abraham as the district trainer or fly him about the country to train ALL franchisees. I'd definitely rent with Budget again. More over, I'd go out of my way to make sure it's from this specific location.

Worst service! This company is a joke. Their online customer service and website were designed by circus monkeys. I reserved a truck and was called the next day with no truck available and didn't receive a call back to provide me with a alternative truck. I was then charged $50 and now I have to wait 5-7 business days to get a refund. No store credit or any hospitality for the inconvenience. "Sorry to hear that" is all you can offer?

This place is terrible. I've used them twice, the first time wasn't great, and the second time was much worse. I reserved a truck in advance online a day or two ahead of time.

Truck pickup in Los Angeles was ok, except couldn't get side mirrors to move into position I needed to see other cars while on the Road. Stopped multiple times to try to adjust side mirrors that wouldn't budge. Drop off in Mesa was frustrating, as when I arrived, was told the one person that handles the truck rentals was out, and I had to come back. I said I couldn't come back, the desk person accepted the keys, but I never got refunded for unused mileage.
