These losers straight up stole one of my shirts from my bag when I wasn't looking. I didn't notice until I got home and looked through my stuff. Do not sell here.

Every single time I walk into this shop I'm greeted with a smile. The vibe is immaculately set by the store manager Cory. Cory and her team are aways friendly and helpful with everyone and it really radiates joy in the store. It's really an IT thrift spot too, you will find gems at amazing prices ! Don't hesitate to bring your bag of lightly work clothing because they really take the time to go through everything and it's worth the wait if there is a line. They move with intention to make your experience a great one. The selection here is truly the best.

Had to leave a review because this place gets a lot of bad reviews- I went in today to sell some clothes - The experience was very pleasant. A crewmember named Eden was the buyer. She was so lovely- She had a wonderful, happy disposition and positive energy. She took in 90% of what I brought. Here's the thing for those of you who get upset when they don't take any of your clothes - It Has to be what would sell right now - it has to be on trend - and not super generic - they like plain "everyday wear" things but unique or a decent brand. They really like quality fabrics- like 100% cotton, linen - etc A few things that I had that were Hanes, Pacsun, Amazon tanks - etc she didn't take. But I had a few pairs of Levi's jeans - other really unique 90s style jeans, Lee brand - a few "like new" tank tops - adidas and champion brand - A lot of vintage one of a kind t shirts and tanks - all in great condition - Harley Davidson crop tank, Fleetwood Mac concert tee - she took all of that. I hope this will help anybody who is looking to sell - To give you more perspective- the woman in front of me had three garbage bags full of clothes- but they only bought a few pieces. What you bring them really matters. Before you lug your entire closet there.. Anyway. Eden was so great to me and I ended up spending my entire trade in value on new clothes because I was lucky and they had a great selection today!

The main reason for this negative review is that the manager at the Melrose location made the 20 minutes I spent there unnecessarily unpleasant! I have spent at least thirty years buying and selling at the Buffalo stores. I began in San Francisco in the late nineties, then when I moved to Los Angeles at the La Brea store and currently at the Sherman Oaks location, and when I am in the Melrose area I go there. I am aware of their business practices, what they purchase and don't purchase and therefore sell, when they have sales, etc. I was excited when I arrived on Wednesday, February 28 at around 11.45 a.m., especially since I would be the first to sell. However, to my surprise, the buyer, a white woman with dark blonde hair, gave me an unpleasant, "What do you want?" kind of greeting. I ignored it. As soon as I walked in with the bags, she started talking about how they didn't buy "fast fashion" and that "from now on they buy only designer and exclusive brands and some vintage." Mind you!, she hadn't even seen what I was selling yet, but even so, she was really rude in the way she communicated it. Again, I didn't say anything. I was going to get another bag from the car and put some money in the meter, but she told me to "HURRY UP" because "YOU can't leave your stuff unattended", even though she had already placed the bags on the counter. I continued to ignore her attitude, but in the three to four minutes it took me to return, she had gone through both of my big bags and thrown everything back into them like trash. She hardly even looked at the other bag; after giving it a glance for two minutes, she repeated what she said earlier--that they only purchase "designer" and "expensive brands"--and she didn't find anything in my bags. Needless to say, I was taken aback, I generally bring vintage and the newest styles which they always end up buying half of what I bring. During this trip, I had some Kate Spade jeans and jacket, a Coach black bag, a Michael Kors purse, and a few "fast brands" that were brand-new with tags from Zara. I knew my stuff would sell later, so I felt it was not worth it to continue dealing with her, and needed to get away from her arrogant demeanor. On the way out I glanced to the cashier and I inquired about purchasing a vintage dress that the cashier was putting away in a box. She declined, saying that it would be donated because no one had purchased it. When I asked whether it would be okay if I buy it, she said no, to speak with the manager. To my surprise this manager happened to be the buyer I just had a bad experience with, I asked her nicely if I could buy the dress. She asked the cashier if the tag was still on, to which she said "No," but then she told me I could have it for $20 because it was on sale from $30.00. I asked if I could have it for 15.00, and she firmly said, "NO! we don't bargain here," I mentioned there are stains and rusty marks and if the dress had been on sale from 30, it would have been 15. to what she said "NO it was 40" then the salesgirl chimed in, " it was 36." Regardless of that, I said "You were going to donate it anyway", and immediately her story changed to "Well, we're not donating it; we're packing it for 'EARTH DAY," What! It will only cost $1.00 on Earth Day! at that point, I knew that she was just being nasty so I just turned around and walked away, shaking my head at the numerous stories I was receiving about a sad dress that no one was buying, and she was fighting for five dollars, when at the end she will put it in storage for a month and give it away for one dollar. If it's really the truth. Why is this woman a manager? She is arrogant, rude, and mean. Despite the fact that, in this situation, it was a small amount of money, she clearly makes poor business judgments that probably cost the store money if not customers. In any event, her actions weren't justifie

Definitely need to bring back the reservation system for selling as well as limit bags you can bring in. Wait is absolutely ridiculous and more often than not they don't buy much. Cramped hot store and a horrid shopping experience as well. Wouldn't recommend. Only good if you're trying to buy/sell outdated and or hipster wanna be clothing. If you want good stuff try crossroads or second street

I use to love buffalo exchange. They were my go to thrift store. Now the store is dark, cramped with very rude prejudice employees. They need a training in culturalism and customer service. Ima try to make a long store short... I tried selling my clothes. At first there was a black employee who was alone but going through the clothes pretty quickly. Still, there was a long line wrapped around the store and I was really frustrated because there was plenty of employees who could have jumped in to get the line down. She was buying things from everyone. At least "something"! However, once it got to my turn another employee came up to the black employee and told her to move to a different location. She looked really annoyed. I thought that was weird. Why take her away why not add to her so she can cut this line down! There was still 1-2 ppl in front of me and there was now literally 3 people who were going through the clothes taking their sweet time and chatting. Not even really looking. Ridiculous! They saw my frustration as I knowingly showed it. They didn't care. When it got to me, I told them that I had another big bag of clothes and if I should bring them in. One of the girls said we will look through this and then you can bring the other in. I emphasised that I had waited for a very long time and didn't want to get back in line but they said it would be a problem. Now check this, they looked through a 50lb bag of hip, trendy, stylish clothes, brand new vans, patent leather heels, unconventional pieces etc and said "nope". They go through the whole speech about them looking for xyz. And so I mentioned the other bag that I said I for sure have that in that bag. She reiterated "yea u can go through them and bring them back next time and we'll be happy to take a look" like lady! Your co-worker just told me it wasn't a problem annnnnddd this not a walk around the corner. I live far, traffic is horrible and parking is worse! I felt like she was playing in my face and I was very livid because I know the clothes that I went through and bought something if not all should have been taken. I feels racist and prejudice here. No customer service! The buy/sell program sucks! Customers shouldn't have to wait for hours when you have capabilities to get them in and out. I will not be going back or brining my family here again.

Went in and sold a few pieces today! The girls were so sweet, and I loved chatting with them. They explained to me what types of collars they're seeking this season, etc. They are experts at knowing what will sell in their store, so you have to realize that coming in and not set your expectations that they are going to take everything. Thanks again! I will be back for the sale on 3/16!

Just warning anyone who actually has good taste and style in clothing. Buffalo Exchange used to have this same good taste and style but definitely not anymore. Haven't been here in probably 4-5 years but now it looks like where homeless people shop. Took two huge IKEA bags in to sell and didn't buy one thing, I'm guessing because it was too stylish. While looking around I was betting that they wouldn't, lol, and I was right. She said nothing in my bags would move. A brand new pair of custom chucks wouldn't move? Lol. Okay. Too bad BE is kinda crap these days. They've done WAY downhill. This place is a complete joke. I read all the other reviews and I'm in good company. I also think the employees are just lazy and don't really wanna buy.

About every 6 months I'll pop in to see if anything has changed. I'm surprised that it's the same old crappy experience. I brought in a small bag and the girl turned away a Cross Colors tee, black western-style Jeffrey Campbell boots, vintage Levi's denim jacket, and some tour hoodies. The selection on the floor is sad.

I hate to give this storee this rating because it seems like MOST of the employees there are super awesome helpful and friendly - then there is the one who I can only assume is the manager, because if there were anybody above her that saw how she treated and interacted with the customers, she would still be working there, guaranteed.First visit to this store I fell in love with it immediately, I love the inventory the staff seemed awesome and the ,, gave me very reasonable offers for the items I sold them. Granted, the one I'm referring to wasn't there that time.Fast forward, my next visit I walked into the store and I can already feel a heaviness and a chill in the air, the atmosphere was totally different and the vibe was totally different.. my walk over to the sellers table and out quite literally runs this highly over caffeinated dark-haired woman who slightly resembled Katy Perry after a particularly long meth run with an affect to match. She was bossy and snarky from the beginning, didn't even look at 90% what I brought in and way low-balled me funny things that she did take. The vibe she gave was a very dismissive one that seemed to give off the "get out of my store you're interrupting my micromanaging" vibe. I gave it the benefit of the doubt that was a one-off fluke - although in hindsight, I do remember getting the feeling that the employees where in lower spirits at night and there was a very repressive about the store...I came back a third time, about a half hour before they closed, and "Crystal Katie" (I don't know her actual name) quite literally shooed me away because they were "closing soon," (in 30 minutes??? IDK when I've ever spent more than 30 minutes shopping in a store that size!) . I don't want to have to drive out to Santa Monica or Sherman oaks as it's about 10 miles closer than either of those two, but I might do just that next time to see if I have any better of an experience. Again this is really sad because if I were basing this review off my first visit, it would be like a 10/5....She is that toxic, whatever her name is.

Crazy people at the store. Very unsettling atmosphere. One woman who was in charge of buying took 45 minutes to look into 1 person's stuff! Then she would wander around for another long minute. Then she turned down my Loro Piana and Patrizia Pepe, excellent condition, clothing saying "they are looking for something less fast fashion". ?

I really don't know how this location has such bad reviews. I had such an amazing experience here. the buyers are so educated when it comes to fashion, trends and brands. they explain the thought process behind buying an item or not and end up taking much more than Crossroads Trading does. I will definitely be coming back to this location in the future to buy and sell! Their selection is great!

Just like some of the other reviews, this place will totally profile you before they decide if they want to buy any of your clothes or not. I’ve never felt so discriminated against in my life. If you don’t look like them with purple eyeshadow, facial piercings, and rainbow dyed hair they won’t give you the time of day. I brought in tons of authentic never worn vintage band t-shirts, Off White, Forever 21, Zara, Aritzia still with tags. They wanted none of it, what a joke. All the employees have a pretentious attitude like they work at the Louis Vuitton store, when in reality it’s a stinky thrift store on the trashy part of Melrose that profiles their customers.
