owner/manager seems like a rude ignorant sad person. to all future employees that see the constant help wanted sign out front, just walk along go work anywhere else. you'll be happier flipping burgers then working for this guy. He seemingly hates his life so much that he wants everybody around him to feel it as well. biggest ripoff, 8 bucks for a tiny McDonald's size cone, and the manager was rude to me and his employees at the same time. just don't go in there unless you just want to see the sideshow.

The ice cream is really good! But the owner is kind of a jerk. I just called to ask if they were hiring and instead of putting me on hold like a regular person the owner was mumbling I could barely understand what he was saying. Anyways he got angry at me and said he had to serve customers and that they don’t hire boys. Like what? I heard about Carvel from the east coast for many years. I didn't realize we have one here in LA. I stumbled upon it last week and I had a dasher there which was absolutely amazing. Drove especially tonight again to get another dasher. I walk in Nobody is in the counter for a while. I yell hello hello. Finally after a while somebody gets up from the floor. Completely wasted. I decided not to get a dasher since he was barely able to stand ..very disappointing. I don't know if I'll make that trip again.

Deplorable business plays games with credit cards. Charged me thirty one dollars for a four dollar ice cream sandwich. Call bem m. They refused to correct it. So I had to file a credit card charge back.

This is NOT what I grew up with my entire youth. They had a ridiculous low inventory of choices/flavors. Didn't have the cherry dip. No mint chocolate chip. No half dipped ice cream sandwiches. The young man working there was very nice and apologetic, but the owner just won't improve on this establishment. What a shame. Carvel was always my fav. This has the same name but is NOT the Carvel I grew up with.

Extremely rude customer service.I wanted to order a cake for my album release party and the owner or manager I spoke with was just completely rude and yelling in the background. You just lost a major client. Will be ordering from a local bakery and business that CAN make a cake according to the client’s needs. I would avoid this carvel. Support a local baker that will do 100% better job.

Seeing a lot of cake ordering issues with the owner Steven who is a real…interesting guy. A few weeks ago, I ordered a custom cake and flying saucers via the website. I received an automated email saying the order was not yet confirmed, yet I had paid. When I called the shop to see what was going on, the owner answered and told me that the ordering service carvel’s website uses takes a certain percentage of the cost. Ok, that isn’t my problem but he asked if he could cancel it and charge me direct instead. I was fine with that, he took my order but was pretty rude and acted like it was my fault lol. Whatever, I called the next day (when we agreed I would have someone pick up the cake), and the employee working said that the cake had not been made and she didn’t see it in the system. Very cool. She says she will have the owner call me. He calls me and gives me yet another long winded personal anecdote about why he couldn’t get to the shop that morning to make the cake. I finally send someone to get it, the cake arrives and it’s absolutely not what I asked for and the saucers were not present. Asked for a refund for them and that has still not been received. I’m an east coast girl so it’s upsetting that the one carvel in the area is tainted but… such is life. Avoid this place!

My church and I have been ordering from this Carvel location for some time. The kids love their icecream cakes, and as it turns out adults do too. Stephen, the owner, is very accommodating and delivers straight to us, and one of this times he even served the cake for us all.We like the fact they can do photo cakes which is what the kids love the most. Everyone from the owner to the employees have been good to us.

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had at any food establishment. I ordered a custom ice cream cake on Wednesday and was told it would be ready Friday and I can pay when I pick it up. I call on Friday afternoon and the guy that answered was extremely rude. I was cut off at every sentence and he proceeded to scream at his employees while on the phone with me. He told me that the cake hasn't been made yet until I pay. I went ahead and paid and he told me it would be ready by the next day (the day of the birthday). The next day I get a call saying that he can't make the cake anymore. UNBELIEVABLE. I paid $90 for this cake!!!! Such a rip off

Manager assured me he would ship an ice cream cake via fedex and provide tracking info, put $160 hold on my card... never got tracking info, cake didn't arrive. Called the store, employee didn't know about it, told me the manager went on vacation. Still under dispute 2 months later... Avoid this guy.

All my mom wanted for her bday was a carvel cake.. called and placed my order and was told I could pick it up between 2 and 4pm to get here and there's a literal piece of paper taped to the door saying they will be back at 4:10... I'm just supposed to sit and wait 45 minutes??? How can you leave the open sign on and say you're open til 5 if you're not even there. I could've gone to Ralph's....

I am deeply disheartened and dismayed by the recent experience I encountered with this business. Traditionally, my family celebrates special occasions with a Carvel cake, a custom we hold dear. However, when I ordered a cake from this establishment, given the unavailability of their supermarket stock, I was astonished by the exorbitant cost of $60 (less than $20 at Ralph's or Vons). On the day of my mother's birthday, we eagerly awaited the cake only to be profoundly disappointed; the size of the cake was notably smaller than even the most petite cakes available at Ralph's.Despite attempting to address this issue with the franchise location, no one was available to address my concerns. Subsequently, I reached out to their corporate office, articulating my dissatisfaction, but to no avail. It has been over a month without any response. This lack of acknowledgment or attempt to rectify the situation is incredibly disappointing.Sadly, this experience has led me to reconsider my loyalty to Carvel as a brand. It is with regret that I contemplate seeking an alternative provider for our cherished family tradition due to the profound dissatisfaction stemming from both the franchisee's service and the apparent indifference exhibited by the corporate office.
