Chevalier's Books is the oldest independent bookstore in Los Angeles. It is a warm, inviting, and cozy space with an expansive yet curated selection of books, offering serendipitous finds. The staff is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing excellent recommendations and a perfect research and ordering process for books not on the shelf. The store has plenty of books to choose from, including fiction, nonfiction, journals, notebooks, and puzzles. It also features a solid kids area with seats and space, and offers author events, children's story time, greeting cards, cute stickers, and gift-wrapped mystery books. Dogs are welcome if behaved. It is exactly what you want in an independent bookstore, providing a sense of community and a proper nook to browse.
Great store! Lots of selections and the books were wonderfully curated, props to whoever picks them out. The employees were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all of the books. I will be back!

Happy to support our local bookstore. Chevalier's books has been around for a while. I remember they used to be at their old location and I'd always stop by when I was on the block. Now they moved but it's still a wonderful little shop for young and old.

This is a bookstore but also a community, they leave a warm feeling in my heart whenever I go. They make space on local authors and writers who are POC and LGBT. They build their collections to reflect their readers
