I must express my deep disappointment with my initial encounter during a Camerata Pacifica concert. The experience turned out to be quite distressing. Attending a show at Colburn in downtown LA last night, I found myself receiving treatment that made me feel devalued by a member of the staff. Unfamiliar with the venue's policies as a first-time visitor, I inadvertently captured a discreet video on my phone, a mistake for which I accept full responsibility.
A male staff member discreetly approached me and softly communicated a reminder about the no-phone policy, to which I promptly complied. However, his approach quickly escalated as he forcefully grabbed my hands, pushing them down, and proceeded to point his finger at me while sternly reprimanding me with a sharp "NO." This not only caused physical discomfort to my wrist but also left me feeling humiliated and violated as I attempted to salvage the remainder of the show.
In this moment, I feel compelled to assert myself and stand my ground in response to the unknown staff member's who became physically aggressive with me.
It's disheartening when an experience that should be about enjoying music and culture is marred by such unpleasant interactions.

I have attended a number of concerts of an exceptional level at this school. In addition, the diversity of works represented opens up horizons that broaden the scope of my classical musical culture; I was thus able to discover contemporary authors who are not necessarily highlighted in the usual recording production. Don't miss the mini-concerts offered almost every day between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., they are little gems!

Hello, my son participates in the Colburn Community School. He has participated for 7 years and before they had very good presentations, I consider it to be a good school but the community school has greatly decreased in quality and attention to the students. The community school presentations only They take them for doing without quality.

Hmmm. Not sure how this prestigiously Private Music School in DTLA's 'The Music Center,' got itself down to 3.5 stars during the Pandemic. My friends and I visited this Concert venue for an all Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart program here years ago. Colburn School offers a smaller recital hall as compared to Walt Disney Concert Hall, so it's mostly used for Chamber Music groups to perform. I finally revisited them today for this event, 'DTLA's 23 Things to do in 2023,' Passport/Scavenger Hunt event. When I saw the event listing off Yelp Events, they looked manageable. So far, I've earned 400 points/2000. But I get the whole month to complete it: I got the feeling it's ASAP though. I had a blast browsing the paintings and walking around classroom hallways here today and it's surroundings. I got to grab a brochure here, So will share that in a tad bit! Will be back visiting soon in DTLA's 'The Music Center.' It was free admission just to visit! They are currently offering free concerts: I'll post a flyer pic shortly.

my 3 year old daughter was pulled out in the middle of the class from 2! security people because she didn't wear her mask .These kids are also all tested . Thats a police state academy not a performing arts school . Arts opposed restrictions . This is such a traumatizing event for her that she will carry with her her whole life .
