Very unprofessional people that work for the dmv in California. Dmv from California is a joke they play with people lives and they make people wait almost 60 days before they get there I'd or driver's license in the mail. Other states give your I'd or license the same day especially east coast states because they know that people need there id's or license to show proof of they are California doesn't care about anything except taking your money and playing the waiting game for your id or driver's license id.i been waiting for my I'd for over 2 months to show up in the mail. The process here in California is the reason people are losing their jobs and housing because of the bullshit California puts people through. You all should be ashamed of how you do business in the state of California.

Disorganized. Three different locations. Different procedures. Finally the one in Van Nuys helped us. Downtown LA and in East LA were terrible.

Here's my story.... got an hour?? I received my registration due bill in the mail in August for my October renewal... First week of September I wrote a check for $700 and sent it three days later I was at the bank and the teller told me that I had written, the check on a closed account. I panicked. I called the DMV and the agent told me that they had not received the check and not to worry and to go online and pay it. I did it immediately. I thought it was a done deal . Two months later I receive a letter from the DMV telling me that I had a dishonored check and that I owed them $700 plus penalty. I immediately called the DMV and the agent told me to disregard the letter. I said OK... One month later I receive another demand for payment, I immediately call I get the agents name, tell me, to disregard the demand letter. One month later, I receive a final demand for payment. The penalty is now $700 plus $274. In the letter it tells me that they will in so many words ruin my credit if I don't pay. I went down to the local DMV here in Santa Rosa and sat for 2 1/2 hours before I met with a grumpy deadpan woman. She gave me a phone number to call when I got home. I called it guess what it was a bad number that apparently was not used anymore by the DMV it just kept disconnecting. Why am I not surprised at this point . So I'm thinking now I'm going to call Steve Gordon's office the Director of the state of California DMV. I am on the phone for 45 minutes. I am racking up hours of trying to fix this problem. I am told the best thing to do is to go back to the DMV and pay a negotiated amount of $730 so that it can be posted immediately, because if I place the money in the mail service, it probably would not be posted in time for the next letter, sure to arrive. I can't wait to see what the next chapter of this nightmare scenario has in store. The DMV of California has to be one of the worst in the country. You are basically treated like dirt. When you call to speak to an agent the prompter always lets you know "because of high call volume" they will call you back. Ask to be texted first, the text reads " we tried to contact you and will try again later...."later" never comes....what a frustrating poorly run organization! Ahhhh, the great state of California.....

Went in for a driver's license renewal and I was out in under an hour. Every single person from the security guards to each employee I spoke with at different counters was patient, kind & helpful.I was also thankful that hand sanitizer was available throughout the building since there are shared computers and other things used by various customers at the dmv.

They are actually pretty fast. Could be friendlier and speak better English, in saying that still fast.

CA DMV gave 3 commitments on delivery for an elderly disabled resident and delivered on none. 2 trips to the Riverside office and multiple calls resulted in an identification card not arriving on none of the provided commitments. All with little care or concern for the resident who struggles in assisted living. Not sure who or how to hold them accountable for their work.

This DMV is a crucial facility in the US where everyone must go for licenses, plates, IDs, etc. Unlike restaurants where you can choose another if dissatisfied, the DMV leaves no alternative. I'm unsure if my review will prompt a resolution or just result in another confrontational call like the one I experienced with their call center. After explaining my situation, the tone shifted markedly upon mentioning the specific DMV location. My issue began in October 2022 when I ordered a plate. Despite assurances of shipment, no tracking information was provided, only a vague directive to wait 6-9 months due to high demand. By July the next year, having received nothing, I was informed at the DMV that it was likely lost and I'd need to reorder, initiating another 6-9 month wait. Despite this, they just needed to reissue it under my name.By December, still without any updates and having sold my car, the DMV removed my current plate, leaving me with a temporary red paper for my window. This has frequently led to police stops. When I reported who took my plate, the DMV responded aggressively, questioning my right to report the issue. This has left me feeling like my freedom of speech and right to complain are being suppressed, with the DMV always assuming they're correct. The frustration and stress have impacted my health, and despite seeking help, I'm met with the same response: "This is how the DMV operates." It's disheartening that such essential services in a great country are marred by inefficiency and indifference. If there's a better DMV, I'd advise going there, as the negative reviews here are justified.

Warning at this DMV ?? 3615 S. Hope StreetLOS ANGELES. unfortunately this place has a bad apple MR. Or Miss Andrew! is an abused person a very bad person. He or she ? has the most horrible and disgusting attitudes if he or she? doesn’t like you he would do anything he can to disqualified you for passing your test. He screams at you and make you nervous and traumatized you so you don’t past your tests driving examination. We as a family have for many years coming to this DMV FOR OUR DIFFERENT TRANSACTIONS AND OUR NEW MEMBERS OF OUR FAMILY FOR NEW DRIVERS LICENSES. But never ever before have a such bad experience. It’s our second time trying to do our best passing our test drive but unfortunately he Mr. Mss.? Andrew is being on the opposite side. He actually screaming at me and my nephew with the worst attitude ever. We both when inside to complain, but unfortunately they are protecting this individual making a lot of excuses, instead of taken action and responsibility to address this problem. I’m planning to sue this place for there abuse of power and intimidation against us. We are done with this humiliation. think about how many people are going through this with Mr. Andrew and not one do nothing about it. It’s a complete disaster on even trying to talk to the people on charge of this place. Not one has the courage and integrity of fixing this mess. for sure your place will get a bad review on Yelp as well. Enough is enough. You either fix your problem or you’re going to have more complaints coming to your place.

There is great order and the service is efficient and fast. My friend passed the road test here today. I have to say that choosing this DMV is a good place to test your driving skills. One of its test sections is at the University of Southern California. Many students are skateboarding, riding bicycles and walking on the road. The test here requires you to pass every intersection carefully and avoid pedestrians and other vehicles. This is the most complex and difficult test section I have ever seen.

THIS IS THEEEEE WORST DMV IN THE WORLD. DO NOT BOTHER COMING HERE FOR ANY TYPE OF SERVICE. Employees are all so unhappy and just chit chat chit chat amongst each other and therefore you'll be waiting for your number to be called at least 3 to 5 hours, even if you are handicapped.

I have never seen a government agency with people as retarded as here. especially all the people who don't want to do business work here. They also treat people who are not American citizens badly. Even though I went here many times, I was not taken care of. You should definitely not go here.
