I don’t live here, I only toured, but I had to come on here to give some well-deserved praise. Although we ultimately chose a different property, El Centro was a very close second thanks to our amazing leasing agent, Iryna.
Her work ethic and knowledge of the property were outstanding. She patiently answered what felt like 10,000 of our questions and took us on multiple tours to help us find the right apartment.
Even though we ended up going a different direction, I truly appreciated her professionalism and dedication, and I wanted to make sure she got the recognition she deserves!!
THANK YOU IRYNA!

I don’t often write reviews, but when I do, it’s serious. I’ve lived at El Centro for nearly 2 years now. I renewed my lease in March and I am deeply regretting it.
Last night, my car got broken into in the APARTMENT COMPLEX’S GARAGE. This is due to a lack of security or care for any of the residents in this complex. The management cares only about raising rent and responding to reviewers without making any changes.
The new management replaced all the real employees with a fake, AI bot named “Sophia” who answers all the calls and sends all the emails. There’s little to no way to get in touch with real staff to help with the issues at hand.
Lately, fire alarms have been going off at erratic times. When they go off, it’s hard to understand whether there’s an actual emergency or if it’s another glitch. But, don’t worry! Sophia will send an email to everyone an hour after the alarms have gone off.
The complex smells like dog urine, residents smoke in common areas even though doing so can lead to “lease cancellation” (they apparently never enforce this). It’s truly horrific.
I’m tired and I’m frustrated by the way things continue to go downhill. I wish i could cancel my lease, but you need to pay 1.7x your rent in order to do so, which isn’t feasible. I’m hoping that the new management makes a change soon.

Don’t stay here. Over priced. Fire alarm goes off for hours nobody to stop it. Pee stains up and down hallway because of people’s dogs. No phone reception in my unit. Just don’t it, go somewhere else.

A once-beautiful and well-maintained building complex has, for years now, fallen into neglect — yet still dares to call itself “luxury.” Rent keeps rising while quality has dropped to a level that’s frankly unacceptable. But pictures say more than a thousand words.
Welcome to El Centro — a place that no longer cares about luxury, only profit. Make no mistake: you’re not getting what you’re paying for. Realistically, rent here should range between $1,600 and $3,500 at most, until new management genuinely steps up, fixes the ongoing issues and rebuilds/renews key amenities to justify the high prices and the title of a “luxury building.”

This place was great until the new management company took over last month. I’m moving out as soon as I can. Everything is constantly broken, maintenance hasn’t responded since they took over, you can’t pay bills online, there’s no remote entry, and I can’t get my packages.
And before the new management team comes wasting time responding to this post instead of actual to getting things working: the door to my patio has been broken since August 5th, before the new management company took over. Since they took over in October I have requested 4 times that they fix it. It literally doesn’t have a friggin door handle.
Edit: part of an acquisition or transfer of business is ensuring continuity, and while I can appreciate that you took over two weeks ago, part of your responsibilities should have been to figure this stuff out before ending prior business agreements with maintenance and cleaning staff. The portal should have been seamless.

I've been at El Centro for going on 5 years, and I’m still surprised by how quiet it is being this close to the Walk of Fame. My windows look onto a lush courtyard that feels almost like a mini rainforest—perfect for working from home. That calm vibe is why I’ve stayed so long. New management just took over, so I'll wait and see if things change and report back.

1. We were notified of management change via a letter posted in an elevator of effective immediately change on October 15, 2025
2. We were not notified the resident portal where our rent payment is processed would be shut off. We now have zero access to our former ledgers, and also do not have a portal to make maintenance requests
3. Security vendor abruptly changed with no prior notice on October 14, 2025. We were notified via email
4. There have been no monthly community events since June 2025. They were sparse between January 2025 and June.
5. There have been cleaning staff who were fired as of October 13, 2025 with this new management
6. Lights around the complex continue to be broken and in the evenings the walkways outside are pitch black
7. On May 30, 2025, LA Public Health shut down the pool due to the fob not locking and the jacuzzi being at high bacterial levels. The next day, the complex removed the closure sign and still allowed residents to proceed with pool utilization. The complex did not formerly communicate this health hazard. The pool was later shut down briefly in July and re-opened
TLDR: Increase safety issues, poor communication

No more amenities? No security?
Do NOT move here. Lived here for a little over a year and when I renewed they FAILED to notify me the building was being SOLD.
Now the new ownership seems to want to take away amenities (GYM, Kid's playroom..etc) and DOING AWAY with 24hr security and firing a lot of the cleaning staff. That is unaceptable! This was NEVER mentioned or written in my contract or during the renewal process.
The DOG area and some hallways constantly have dog poop or piss and they wont even do anything about it.

Dealing with management of El Centro Apartments has been one of the most infuriating and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had as a tenant. Their maintenance team is a complete disgrace.
Despite multiple requests, serious safety issues like non-functioning pathway lighting—which has caused people to literally get hurt, have been blatantly ignored for months. The disregard for tenant safety is appalling.
Most recently, they removed my Tesla charger adapter without any notice, stranding me with a dead car battery and no way to get to work. That’s theft of personal property, plain and simple. When asked about it, the office acted like they were doing me a favor.
Communication is non-existent, professionalism is laughable, and they operate with zero accountability. If you're considering living at any property managed by Western National Group, run the other way. You're better off sleeping in your car than signing a lease with these people.

I was very happy after I got my open items fixed in my apartment by Ralph Rodriguez. Ralph fixed everything and did it fast and professionally. He knows what he is doing and does it well. I was very happy and now I can continue enjoying my apartment with everything functioning well. Thank you Ralph and thank you El Centro.

Allegedly there is one person in the compliance department who takes several months to review paperwork. They are clearly understaffed and the consequences are felt by their current and future residents.
