It's a small hole in the wall type of restaurant. Think of it like you are going to your parents house and they go make you food. It has a very mom and pop feel, but the service is good. I don't get why other people complain. The prices are higher than similar spots, but it's understandable with the current economy. Beer costs you 5 bucks a bottle for Modelos, 5 bucks for a Coke medio litro. The food ranges from tacos to plates. We started with some complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa is not your typical pace style salsa, it's more like a salsa for tacos. Had a slight bit of heat and the chips were fresh. For our order, my daughter had the birria plate and I had the chilaquiles plate with a birria taco on the side. They offer both Chivo (goat) and res(beef) birria. The order comes with 3 tortillas hechas a mano, onion, cilantro, dried red chilies, rice and beans. Overall not bad for 16 bucks. The chilaquiles plate came with 2 eggs, over easy, chilaquiles Verdes, rice, beans, sour cream, cheese and diced onions. Again, good portion for the price. Nothing mind-blowing, but consistent and easy food that doesn't miss. Support small businesses.

Dude.. I had this place starred on my Google Maps for whatever reason, so when I was in the area, I tried it. It was worth it.Driving from Chino early morning on a whim can be a disaster, especially after circling the seedy streets of Boyle Heights to find parking. Once I parked, it was a short 1 block walk through the shade, stepping over someone sleeping on the sidewalk. Their neighbor Guisados looked appealing, but I continued.Got there and was served very well. I had a menudo that was perfect. Not an overbearing flavor. Good mix of broth, meat, and hominy. Oregano wasn't immediately served with it buy I asked and received. My son got the Tapatio Plate. Good chorizo, cheese, nopales, pollo, and beans to accompany the homemade tortillas. We each had a Mexican hot chocolate that was perfect. Total bill a little high at $50 (it was about $6.50 for a tiny side of rice and sour cream). I'd go again.Parking: It can be difficult to find parking.
