The video game store moved across to the west side of Broadway. A previous review described this place as similar to a swap meet, which the original reviewer didn't seem to appreciate -- but it sounded great to me; I love digging around at swap meets! Here's the thing, though: there's no actual digging to be done. "Swap meet" in no way describes the store in its current iteration. You can't open the glass cases by yourself, and the 2 or 3 cardboard moving boxes I spotted full of games were also kept behind the counter. The majority of their games are stacked flat inside glass counter displays, as in actually stacked /flat/ -- arranged such that the spines aren't even visible for 80% of the product. Two stacks that did have the spines visible to the customer consisted entirely of copies of God of War II for Playstation 2. I'm sure you got a sick deal on those publisher's overstock copies, but maybe you don't need to let the customer know that you still have 35 copies collecting dust in the far corner of your display cabinet? The walls have a few random games here and there but are mostly used to display a staggering amount of cheap 3rd-party peripherals. Need a few dozen sleeves for your collection of Wii Remotes? How about a plastic case and bonus stylus for that DS lite you bought 11 years ago? Skip the 99c store and bargain centers; this place will surely have you covered. There is a glass display case about halfway to the back of the store on the left side containing an assortment of vinyl/action figures in addition to several older-gen games (mostly N64 and PS2) and consoles. The selection isn't perfectly curated, but there are a few good titles... don't get excited though! Everything in the display case is their "collection" and is NOT FOR SALE, as in NO OFFERS are entertained. So yeah, the only place in the store that is set up like an actual retail display exists solely as a vanity piece -- I'm guessing for whoever convinced their uncle to let them open up a video game store in one of his shops, or whatever the origin story for this place is. Parting words for potential customers: please don't ever bother making this a destination. If you're in the area, stop in to see if they ever put their games on display. I really wanted this place to be dope, but it's objectively terrible in its current form. Parting words for the owner: Seriously, just get a couple milk crates or cardboard banker's boxes to house all of your used games on top of the counters so that customers can actually see what you have available. Whoever is behind the "collection" display case needs to be given a look of severe disapproval and told that you're not allowed to have "not for sale, display only" case consisting of a dozen $10 used PS2 games and a copy of Super Mario Bros 3 with the sticker half torn off the cartridge. That stuff goes in your apartment, not taking up space at your family's store. Oh, and while I'm sure the majority of your profits come from the cheap 3rd party peripherals, I promise that if you put the tiniest bit of investment into your inventory of games, you will grow a steady, reliable customer base. I say this with love: please be better.

Catchy and more sketchy there's no restrooms and no parking the customer service is seriously lacking and the prices let me tell you about the prices they make up their own prices that's all I have to say buyer beware into her at your own risk.

This is a similar experience as going to a swap meet, it's not worth going to since their prices change too often. The workers act too arrogant when they're not even up to par with Gamestop workers, sorry Gamestop workers, but you're likely educated on all the games but it's not something you went to college for. I don't recommend this location, they charge way too much for used junk that may not even work.

These guys aren't friendly and have an attitude. Trust me I've compared prices to other places in the area. They are a bit higher than the others. Compared to online prices, these guys are expensive. I'm surprised they are still in business after all this time. I wouldn't go here to buy anything. Try the other stores or buy online. Much better deals. Most of their stuff is refurbished anyways. Better off getting used consoles on Craigslist.

This place is packed with stuff and little of it is organized. It's good source of games and accessories from 3rd generation to current, but be prepared to dig around. The staff seemed, irritable and not very knowledgeable especially about the classic items. The prices are usually reasonable, but almost nothing has any price labels, so you will have to ask. Still, if you know what to look for and you can ignore the undercurrent of hostility it can be worth a trip.

This is a great place for those of us who still appreciate mom and pop stores. The owner always greets everyone with a smile, and you feel like family as you come through the years. They have a great selection of hard to find game titles, this is a true diamond in downtown Los Angeles.I have purchased most of my games here Sega Dreamcast,Nintendo, etc. They can also find hard to get collectible games.
