Ordered a tuna sandwich, biting into green mold spores freaked me out. How is this possible? This sandwich was made while I waited. How did the attendant not notice multiple green spores on the bread? Called the store to let them know.

I went in to check out their meat section. I was surprised they actually had a butcher. They have a small selection but the quality was very good. I bought a grass fed ribeye and sausages. The meat was fresh, very good quality. The butcher was also very nice and made good recommendations.

Went earlier today to buy a couple of Napoleons and cupcakes from the bakery. The short chubby Asian lady working there wasn't have a good day she was rude didn't say hello just said yes can I help you. We started to order our pastries she would grab them with her hands she didn't put gloves on. And she used the register with the same hand she grabbed our pastries. We told ourselves how many times she's done this today grab pastries and grab your money with the same hand. We refused the pastries when she told us the total and asked her to give us new pastries with hand gloves on and not to use gloves when using the register. She got mad she murmured couple of words under her breath but put on gloves and put our new pastries in a new box. She rang us up again without the gloves on. Beware of the people working behind the pastries make sure they wear gloves when you make your selection of treats. I also made a email complaint with the LA Health Inspector to do an inspection with the bakery people that they don't wear gloves.

Everything is overpriced.. price gouging at its finest. They'll charge you $23 dollars for a plastic container of cut fruit. Ridiculous pricing.

This review is only for the Bakery. We got a few muffins, a tiramisu, an eclair and a napoleon. Only the muffins tasted fresh. Everything else tasted like it'd been sitting in the fridge for weeks. I wouldn't recommend the bakery here. The cashier supposedly validated our parking pass. However we had to still pay $14. I'm not sure if this was the discounted price, I expected it to be cheaper. But there was no parking attendant to speak to so I just had to pay.

I like this Gelson's and the variety of its offerings. I have always found the employees to be helpful and friendly. I deducted stars because of my parking experience yesterday. I made a purchase and the clerk supposedly validated my parking ticket - but I ended up having to pay full price parking to get out of the garage. (I got to the exit gate and inserted the "validated" ticket, but the machine demanded that I pay full price for the parking before the gate would rise and allow me to exit. What recourse did I have? I had to pay since there was no parking attendant to talk to, and there were cars lined up behind me to exit the garage).

I've been a customer at this store for a couple of years and until recently I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy. I first met her at the managers desk where I assume she answers the phone and helps out the managers with customers when they need to find a product like I did. She not only told me where to find what I was looking for, but she offered to bring it to me while I waited in line. Now not only did she bring me what I needed, but she brought me different sizes to choose from. Then she started bagging our groceries. Now my husband is very judgemental and pointed out that she always had a smile on her face and that no one had ever asked us which way are we exiting so they can turn the cart in that direction. When we got home and we started putting the groceries away he noticed that she has a very unique way of bagging groceries which made us putting the groceries away a whole lot easier. Our bread arrived in good condition as so our bananas avocados and eggs. Thank you Wendy and I think that store should have more staff like her who are always wearing a sincere smile on their face.

Mine is the same review as someone else posted 10 months ago, so I gather management gives google reviewers lip service. Same as the other poster, again the deli staff doesn't always go according to the number system they have in place, and tonight 2 staff were standing around appearing to simply ignore me for an unreasonable time for absolutely no reason. I had to ask whether anyone was available or not and only then did they respond. It appeared to me that management does not regularly supervise the deli staff or make sure the trays of food are attended to in the hot deli area, and it looked like the staff is disgruntled and possibly over-worked and too tired to serve customers properly. Maybe they give priority to the retail workers who go there daily on their breaks instead of making them wait with a number - dunno.

The store is very clean. The Meat Department employees are wonderful. Always SO helpful and willing to accommodate any requests. Lamsi, Josie and Kat are the best at completing a shopping excursion at the checkout counter and getting customers out of the store on a positive note.

The service at the deli is so bad !!! Everyone works so slow the employees Get out from the deli department to go get personal items . You tell the manager if they have more personnel to help and she has a really bad attitude , she dosent even know we're are her workers . I'm so tired off waiting more than 30 min at this deli .

Rude checking guy at the self-check in. Poor management who doesn't teach the staff to be polite and helpful. There was guy standing by the self checking tonite to help customers who was so rude and disrespectful. How possibly managment of Gelsons doesn't train its staff to be respectful to paying customers. He was so confident that he could get away with his Rude interaction with customers otherwise he had treated us nicely. His name was Andrew. He said that he has a new manager and he didn't care if he was reported. Gelsons has changed significantly in a negative way.

I have never been to a Gelson’s before and I was really excited to try it for my first time. As I was taking a picture and a video of my food selection, I got in trouble. I guess you cannot take pictures or videos. This was not indicated anywhere on the store. I actually felt really uncomfortable and I left after this. That was my first and last time there! I went from being so happy, to immediately feeling embarrassed. I added the picture that I took.

Always a good experience (except maybe trying to find a parking space). The produce and cheese selection are excellent. They work hard to keep the checkout lines short. They don’t have as many organic food options as Pavilions but almost as many. They are, however, more expensive.

Finding everything I need is always a win. But I was looking for special Halloween surprises for my kids. I found treat bags, decorations and many special treats - all in one place. I waited till the last minute and was so relieved to find all I needed to make the kids' Halloween extra special. Thank you!
