This visit was my second time in 2 weeks. This time we celebrated my sister birthday. Couldn't think of a better place to celebrate this occasion. The New York was cooked perfectly rare. The scallops were amazing and sweet. The charcuterie plate was fantastic and of course the potatoes cooked and duck fat with the vinaigrette dressing fantastic. Couldn't have had a better evening if I tried. Oh, of course the best service in town.

We were full of anticipation at this Michelin star restaurant. The service was nice and courteous. The starters were a total failure in terms of taste and appearance. The steaks were good, but it had nothing to do with a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide. The star is not justified.I have rarely been so disappointed with a restaurant.

It was f'ing awesome. I mean my taste buds always go on a beautiful adventure with Gwen from their meats to their desserts. No wonder they're a Michelin star restaurant! To the chef in charge. Brilliant! Perfection!

Amazing from start to finish. To start the charcuterie was amazing a must, then the Flat Iron Wagyu, incredible and cooked like I like a perfect rare, and to finish off with the sweet potato flan. A brilliant breaking of a seven day fast. My treat to myself, which I enjoyed immensely. It it really was more than a meal but an experience that I will treasure. Terrific work from John the butcher, to my server Jason and the rest of the friendly staff, and Bot sorry to see you go and thank you for sharing. An experience I highly recommend. Namaste, Greg Louganis

I didn’t love this restaurant.Pro: Most spectacular bread and butter (truly exquisite!), service was excellent, and the decor is nice.Con: The food left a lot to be desired. The octopus was a surprisingly small portion and underwhelming in flavor, the NY strip was equally disappointing in flavor, the spaetzle was dry, and the duck fat potatoes were overhyped average crispy potatoes at best. By the time we got to dessert, we just gave up and opted out.In all, if my highest praise is for the bread at a steakhouse, it’s concerning. I wouldn’t recommend.

One of my favorite steakhouses in LA! Their presentation of your choice of steak knives is such a treat as they detail the background of each cutlery. Nice twist. I also love that you can take home choice meats in their butcher shop-market. This place is classy and always consistent.

It is our third time dining at this restaurant. We really enjoy the ambience and the fact that you can have a conversation there. We took our niece who is visiting from Northern California, and she really thought it was an outstanding meal. We love the attentive service, the fine selection of wines and special cocktails. Also, this restaurant has a water sommelier, Martin Riese, who is known throughout the world for having the ability to provide a variety of international waters. We had the opportunity to taste two different waters, one still, and one sparkling and both were very good. It is most interesting to listen to a water sommelier explain the difference in the composition of water because water from abroad contains all the minerals and vitamin content on the label while water bottled here does not. Gwen is a dining experience with selections for carnivores fish eaters , and vegetarians.

The level of customer service here is absolutely phenomenal every single time. All the staff are 100% devoted to you from the moment you step inside. Devoted. I literally feel worshipped. If one little thing is less than perfect, they will go above and beyond to make up for it. I'm so incredibly impressed every single visit, and I've been saying for years "I should write them a review." Other businesses could learn a thing or two about how to build a relationship with customers and how to interact with the public. So there are many examples of this, as I've been going there for a few years now, but I'll give you a rundown of what happened today. I went in to get an iced latte (tastiest coffee in Los Angeles btw) and their machine was broken. To make up for it, the butcher provided samples and a detailed, passionate description of some different charcuterie they had in the case. Just a little apology for not having espresso that day. He was super nice. Made me feel special. And it tasted amazing (some kind of apple fennel salami situation, a slice of heaven Wagyu something, and some other tasty bite of not prosciutto, but similar). Omgggg you have to go there. Reasonable prices on regular butcher things, like ground beef and chicken. Exotic options. Whole lotta fancy. Love, love, loooooove the staff. They're angels.

Food was mediocre at best, got the dry aged ribeye which had absolutely no dry age flavor. Ordered it medium rare, it came out rare borderline blue rare. For a 200 steak and a restaurant of this caliber I expect it to come out exactly as I ordered. The famous duck fat potatoes were still hard in the middle. We also ordered the scallops and grits, some of the smallest scallops I’ve ever seen. Ambiance was great, service was good. I left underwhelmed.

The food was amazing, service was great and loved the ambiance. I was invited for an intimate dinner for 10 for a work function. They had a side room they reserved for us. Our starters included a proccuito charcuterie platter, very warm and perfectly baked French bread and three items, which my favorite was the grilled octopus al pastor. We all ordered the NY strip medium rare, perfect, the side potatoes is a must. Ended our meal with an amazing dessert, sweet potato with things like anise, pistachios and this amazing bone marrow caramel sauce. I don't see it on any menu they have posted, but if they have it, give it a go! Amazing place to eat.

I went to this restaurant on Valentine's Day. We paid almost $600 for two persons, but only have a bite of fish as the main course. That was all the courses we had last night. Do you think it's worth the price? That is crazy . I'm very disappointed for this restaurant GWEN.This is a steak house, but we don't even have one peace steak and paid almost $600 for two person.
