I'm so happy to hear Joann's is declaring bankruptcy today! I used to love Joann's until the pandemic when I bought a sewing machine and fabric from them online and made 10 visits to this location on La Cienega before the rude manager finally threw my sewing machine and fabric out of the door and onto the street whereupon my fabric was strewn all over the dirty pavement because I demanded he release my purchase. I received "ready for pick up" notices daily only to drive to the store all masked up to sit with a long line of other cars waiting for merchandise for hours on end that never got released to any of us. After 10 trips I was angry and knocked on the door for 30 minutes straight until finally my merchandise was literally thrown at me! I wrote a complaint letter to the company which no one ever responded to. So today, I say no wonder this company is so severely in debt!

This store is a mess. My last 2 visits resulted in me being double-charged for the same item. Long lines, hard to locate items and overall poor customer service.

Good selection, but they didn’t have enough stock for some of the items I was looking for. The check out line can be a little slow at times but very easy to find parking.

The customer service at this location is severely lacking. During my last four visits, I've consistently had to seek assistance from cashiers to find items, as the online inventory doesn't align with the store's actual stock. Shelves are often bare, and staff seem scarce or inattentive. I urge a reassessment of both staff and management to restore the once-efficient and enjoyable shopping experience this store used to offer. Unfortunately, it has become consistently disappointing, and I won't be returning.

This is the first time I have been to this store. I needed a certain mixed color yarn for the project I have been working on. I didn't find what I was looking for, but the combination I bought was close to what I needed. When my husband and I walked into the store yesterday, we were shocked at the mess that the store was in. There was product on the floor, shelves were in disarray and everything was in total disorganization. I couldn't believe the mess that I saw. I have been to other Joann stores, but this one was absolutely shocking! I felt like I was in a discount store, but I don't think any discount store that I have shopped in would have looked like what I saw yesterday.

Walked in at 5.45 knowing exactly which fabric I was looking for. Store closes at 6 on Sundays. Was told that the counter is closed at 5.45 because they need to recover the store and will not cut any more fabric. Their loss. Terrible service.

They close her doors, 10 minutes before the actual closing time and security guard won't let you in, even if it's just for one quick thing and it's by the register.

This store has a large of colors & tools for Arts and Crafts. The staff is always pleasant. Employees are knowledgeable & helpful. When checking out they ask for your telephone number to see if additional discounts apply to your purchase. This is nice to find out discounts apply on your purchase. A variety of craft storage containers are available for your projects. The value is great for the items. This has become my favorite Craft stores. You can order online for items you need and pick them up. If you are in the area, this store is worth a visit. asks if you need any assistance. If they don't know where something is you need they research to find out the information you need.

Horrible customer service I was on hold for over 10 mins. All I was told Joann's please hold. Do think it's an understaffing issue. It's just lazy employees not wanting to work. DO BETTER!

Out of all the times I’ve spent money at JOAANS, I’ve never in my life been so uncomfortable at this location. I wasn’t going to say anything at first, so I didn’t get any names but after seeing the employees have the security at the door when I was checking out and seeing him walk away immediately after I walked out the store, I had no choice but to speak out. (Disclaimer I’ve worked in retail for over 6 years and had a family member work at JOAANS, so I know how it works when the employees think someone is stealing) besides that the older woman working in fabric either hates her job or disliked my younger brother and I presence. She not only accused me of putting fabric on the floor with a nasty tone but caught an attitude when I asked for help. And when I asked her “do you not want to or not supposed to help me?”, she dragged her feet around the counter to basically waste my time. I am a very indecisive shopper so when I’m shopping for fabrics so I do take my time in the store, but to have employees catch an attitude and treat me with no respect is not OK. The younger woman in fabrics that helped me cut my fabric just seemed like she was ready to go home. The cashier was nice, very quiet tone. But overall I’m pretty sure the store manager knows the names of who worked tonight (11/20/23 @ 6:00pm) these workers need customer service training (especially when they are not in the best of moods) and how to properly identify possible theft.

Besides being stared at and hit on, the security guard has a major hate for white woman. As soon as I came in the door, I was told how beautiful I was but then when I didn't return the same back, I was followed all around the store and then also out to my vehicle. I was scared to death. Hope he gets to move on from Joanns soon.

Caveat emptor!!! Been shopping here for years and it seems the sale prices posted on the shelves are mysteriously NEVER the same at the register. Always question the prices when you pay. Two stars because the cashiers usually correct this when you point out that the posted prices are a lie. Makes me sad for seniors, anyone on a budget, or anyone who's not quick when doing math. That's who you're scamming, Joann. Shame on you.

This USED to be a TOP NOTCH STORE, but the last three times I've been here, the STOCK, the CLEANLINESS of the Ladies Restroom, and the condition of the shopping carts have left a LOT to be desired. First: Upon entering, the greater majority of the carts have wheels where the rubber has separated from the wheel, making their use the noisiest ever to roll through the store. Finding a basket that didn't sound like a a "clanging cymbal", proved to be fruitless, so I chose one with the LEAST amount of clatter. Secondly, needing to use the restroom, I entered into the Handicapped stall, which is usually the cleanest in most stores, only to find wadded paper all around the toilet, which was actively leaking. Using this facility while trying to keep my clothing from touching that floor, was no easy task. Then, to add insult to injury, the FAUCET DID NOT WORK! Ugh! Finally, several of the craft areas for iron-on lettering in particular, were very sparsely stocked, Needless to say, I DID ask to see the Store Manager, who said she would report these complaints to Corporate, and to whom I did indicate that I WOULD be making this YELP POST. Makes me WONDER if this chain is about to CLOSE ITS DOORS?? JUSSSST WONDERING . . . Aveline Kimbell Los Angeles
