(Tookout 11/15/20 SU @ 10:00am & 11/23/20 MO @ 12:00pm): Not much of a donut jubilee! I found Jubilee Donuts at a corner mere walking distance from where I showed a nearby vacant apartment. Would I be jubilant after these visits!? PURCHASE Thai Iced Tea w/Boba ($4.00): Minimal ice, nice muddy clay color, slight floral aroma, not overly-sweet flavor, and lots of boba but many were hard yelp.com/user_local_phot… . THE "APPLE FRITTER IS TAKING OVER THE WORLD TOUR" CONTINUED... Apple Fritter ($1.75): Not that I was an apple fritter snob - eff it...yes I was! - but there was a certain way I liked mine. 1st, the price was comparable to the going rate. 2nd, it was round but flat, and more the size of my hand rather than my face (an ode to the great Goldstar Donuts in Van Nuys). 3rd, there were minimal apple bits. 4th, the overall burnt color and fritter was extreme (I loved it burnt but this was ridiculous!), and the low glaze meant no messy cracking effect. There were many crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. 5th, it wasn't fresh based on its temperature but had hints of oil pockets and gooey apple juices that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat. Overall, it had decent value - 2.5 STARS yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Buttermilk Bar ($1.00): A fresh short and stout low-glazed creamy bar that easily split down the middle - just wished it had more glaze yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Rainbow Sprinkles Cake Donut ($1.00): Standard colorful sprinkles with a strawberry frosting and fluffy donut - always puts a smile on my face yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Cinnamon Twist ($1.00): Not fresh, lacked cinnamon, and a bit dry - this was my least favorite yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Almond Cookies 8pc ($1.25): Seemingly found only in Asian-owned shops, I loved this type of cookie, and they were fresh with multiple almond slivers yelp.com/user_local_phot… ! Pineapple Danish ($1.50): Flaky, fluffy, and a good size but could've used more pineapple - still very tasty yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Strawberry Danish ($1.50): Flaky and tasted like the Cap'n. Crunch berries - I liked it but wished for actual strawberry bits yelp.com/user_local_phot… . Ham & Cheese Croissant ($2.99): A flaky plump warm croissant with a layer of ham and cheese - good simple breakfast option yelp.com/user_local_phot… . SERVICE Greeted by an older masked Asian couple, the gentleman gathered my order into separate paper bags once I was ready. Soon enough, I paid and was out the door as we exchanged pleasantries - easy-peasy! PARKING (FREE) Located in a tight strip mall (e.g. 7-Eleven, Cricket, Chinese food, a flower shop, etc.), parking certainly could be tough (I was lucky). Otherwise, parking also tended to be difficult along the main drag of Beverly Blvd. based on the time of day as well as all surrounding side streets. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A small shop with one main donut display case
