Kwak did a really incredible job restoring my antique victorian chair and loveseat! He completely took them apart and repaired them so precisely and skillfully. He is very detail oriented and I don’t believe anyone else could have repaired them so well and for such a fair price. The craftsmanship is beautiful. He reupholstered and repaired the furniture. He and his wife are very nice, kind and honest people. Such a pleasure to work with them.

Kwak restored and refinished an antique table for me and did an excellent job. He's a craftsman, though good work doesn't have a hard schedule, be patient.

I had two, very delicate, antique tables, damaged in a cross country move. They are both family pieces that I inherited. I was heartbroken, but Mr. Kwak saved them! He spent so much time with them and repaired cracks and missing pieces with much love and skill. I almost wish I had more broken furniture to bring to him. Haha. But seriously, don’t hesitate to bring your furniture here. P. S. Don’t be in a hurry, he’s worth it.

We found this table at an antique store that had a very rough surface with splinters, nails sticking out, and stains. The legs had also been painted with a lead paint a long time ago. Kwak refinished our table beautifully, stained it to a warm brown color, and stripped the lead paint off the legs and repainted them with a green that matched the original color. Thank you Kwak for an amazing job restoring our unique table!

AMAZING! Super nice husband / wife team; I had a Louis XV-style marble table that needed to be repaired, the base was falling apart. When I got it back it was super stable and could finally be used. I highly recommend this place for all your vintage furniture needs

I Love Love Mr. Kwak's Antique Furniture! When our handmade dining room chair's arm was broken into two pieces Mr. Kwak fixed it. He did such a great job, I was having hard time finding where it was broken originally. He also fixed our 100 year old front door lock. It took him and his wife three trips to our house to complete the job. We are specially thankful that he came to our house and fixed our door lock in spite of his own No-Home-Visit-Repair policy. Thank you, Mr. Kwak!

I walked into Kwak's Antique furniture after being intrigued while passing through Koreatown. It is a lovely gem of a store, full of so many treasures. Mr. Kwak was so sweet and helpful. I was happy to see some great reviews of his furniture restoration here, but if you are looking for some lovely Asian and western antiques and curiosities, definitely check out his storefront as well!

SUCH. AN. AMAZING. EXPERIENCE. Mr. Kwak is the guy you want to go to. A perfectionist who does it right and obsesses over it the way you would obsess over it. Great eye for detail and even caught a potential problem with the patterning with the fabric we provided and so glad we took his suggestion to provide him more for the best look. We had some old wood chairs with fabric that needed had some stains and foam falling out -- you name it. We even tried re-sanding and staining ourselves, and... well, it's not easy. Needed complete overhauls with re-sanding/staining, reupholstery (with fabric we provided) and new foam for each. Absolutely masterful job. His prices are perfectly in line with the others too, maybe even more reasonable. Just see him and check it off your to do list.

We found Mr. Kwak via Yelp reviews and are so happy we did. We were looking for someone to repair our antique furniture for 3-4 years - previous quotes were much higher and also those people flaked. Mr. Kwak did an AMAZING job restoring the furniture- we never thought it would look this good - he repaired broken legs on chairs and our buffet table, completely sanded and restained the top of the dining room and buffet. He even fixed an antique lock for our china cabinet that we thought would never work. He was lovely to deal with - his pricing was very fair - and he picked up and delivered our furniture. After our big job - we just hired him to fix up a smaller table too. He was exactly what we needed for the job and we're so happy we found him! Highly recommend!

Mr. Kwak is a true craftsman who has great skill with antique furniture repair. I searched for an "old-world" expert to understand construction of a 120-year-old chair with a missing dowel and wobbly joints. He fixed it beautifully and even cleaned the entire chair's wood finish. He meticulously repaired a table's trim that had shattered. Reasonable prices for the work. Don't be put off by the store's appearance. It's a hidden gem in Koreatown.

I had some MCM chairs from my grandmother that are of very good quality but needed to be re-glued and re-upholstered after having been used by a family of 6 for the last 40 years. They were rickety and the cushions in the seats needed replacement. I took them to Kwaks's and he did an amazing job. They were completely taken apart and re-glued into the solid sturdy chairs they once were. He did a beautiful job on the reupholstery and even gave the wood a nice simple rubbed finish. He delights in his work, is a true artist and is a very nice person as well. His prices are more than fair. It was a really great experience and I feel great to have these family heirlooms back in use! I will definitely be keeping this business in my "rolodex". (mcm reference) :)
