Hands down the best fried chicken in allof LA. And given all of the amazing choices, this is a very serious title. I prefer the 3 piece chicken, but the sandwiches and sides are bomb too. Quality, texture, taste, flavor and execution cannot be beat! Crispy, juicy, tender and bursting con sabor! I absolutely love Lucky Bird and crave it regularly. Don’t miss out!

Lucky Bird Chicken is THE place to eat in the Grand Central Market in downtown LA. The Market is great for office workers, tourists and other visitors (it is right across the street from Angel's Flight), and anyone downtown at meal time. Lucky Bird is the only place you should eat it if you are in the Market for a meal.My wife and I (along with some friends and out-of-towners we bring along from time to time) have eaten at Lucky Bird about 8 or 9 times since we have discovered it. We frequently plan on eating there when are in downtown or somewhere near it. Simply, the fried chicken is the best I have ever had. It is always moist and tender on the inside, and crisp and delicious on the outside. The seasonings that they use make it just perfect. And they have a variety of dipping sauces you can choose from, all delicious. You can get pieces of chicken or a chicken sandwich and you can't go wrong. But my all time favorite is the chicken and waffle combination. It is a culinary extravagance that you won't forget. Even though the counter has a diner-ish feeling to it (as do all of the food vendors in the Market), I rate Lucky Bird as a top restaurant for good, hearty, and delicious food. and the best fried chicken you will eat that puts the chains whose names you know to shame. The only downside is that parking can be tight in the parking structure attached to the Grand Central Market and sometimes you need to roam around the Market to find a place to sit, at least at lunchtime. But if you are downtown for any reason, you should go to the Market and eat at Lucky Bird. I think you will surprised at just how excellent it is.I am getting hungry just thinking about it the chicken and waffle combo.....

It has been 5 years or so since I 1st ate at Lucky Bird. My original reviewfollows this 2023 2024 update.Lucky Bird is still amazing offering the best chicken sandwich ever eaten. The expansive menu heightens the enjoyment of Lucky Bird dining whether for a quick delicious lunch on the go or a longer more leisurely food experience.I was the lucky one to have found Lucky Bird and anyone reading this post will be Lucky too!!!Original review followsIt was a thrill to partake on opening day having come in from out of state. I was so impressed with the incredible moist chicken bringing new flavors to a favorite food. The staff was friendly knowledgeable and accommodating and the space was perfect.I found the price point to be very fair and reasonable given the quality of the food and the downtown location. Highly recommend this new go to destination in LA.I knew that the chef/owner had trained and worked with some of the most famous and outstanding chefs of our time so I had had high expectations which were totally satisfied. The setting was great as well as customer appreciation was evident from the beginning.I am a BIG fan of a GREAT chicken sandwich so I found the sandwich to simply amazingly good. I have traveled and tasted a lot of chicken in my time and I loved the moist brined boneless thigh meat, which was incredibly juicy and flavorful. Smoked paprika aioli provided a wonderful smoky, flavorful touch. Home made pickles added the right acid to balance the flavors.I saw a glimpse of Chef moving carefully and deliberately and I was aware of his caring touch in the food preparation. I WILL RETURN WHENEVER I AM ABLE-- GREAT START TO A GREAT CHICKEN EXPERIENCE.

A successful business should start with someone kind and nice to take customer's orders and receive the money, however the cashier I dealt with had an horrible attitude.. with that being said I CANNOT SPEND MY $ at lucky

Chicken pieces are pretty good, tender and juicy. The chicken sandwich is also good but meat is a little dry there. Overall food is okay and overpriced

Are you ready to have the best chicken sandwich you've ever had? Forget Popeyes. Forget Chick-fil-A. Heidi was so friendly even explaining the simple menu to me. You will spit on every KFC you pass from now

Now this is some good spicy honey chicken sandwich and the way they put the sea salt on top is real good. Thank you my Lucky bird.

I never get chicken sandwiches because I don’t like the thickness. I wish they would allow cutting the chicken in slices but they would only cut it in half. That’s the only complaint I have. Other than that, the hot honey chicken sandwich is a must. The aioli is really good and the potato wedges are thick but seasoned well! The lemonade is different yet good and the employee Sunny is so sweet! I had a great experience and now I bring friends here!Wheelchair accessibility: It’s on the ground floor

Try the chicken sandwich with the spicy sauce or dipped in the spicy sauce! Omg soooo worth it! I wish Vegas had a Lucky Bird. The chicken sandwich was so filling and so worth it! Also loved the pickles.

Juicy chicken sandwich. Got the “secret menu” Buffalo chicken sandwich. Even though it wasn’t that saucy, it was still good.Mac n cheese is super creamy and delicious.

I ordered the chicken sesame and it was so good! The cashier was fast, the food came out in the appropriate amount of time and the vibe is good.

Out of wings and skins by time I got there around 3pm.Ended up with the tenders, which are a la carte. A bit expensive to not come with a side. Service was the highlight here.A little uneasy knowing their display of food next to the register is real. Cooked and prepared every morning and then tossed out at the end of the day.I promise you there is no need, you're not a donut shop. Let your customers and fans do that for you with their media post. At least it'll be paid for and mostly eaten.
