Bad experience here was advised labor cost to replace starter. I had one but not the correct one. Mike bought another one without letting me know for approval just installed it and gave a higher price. I went in person and he dropped to his price but also had a core return and not credit that. We also had a transmission or oil leak and paid $40.00 and still leaked took back and paid $ 20.00 more plus they lost our transmission dip stick. Picture before took the car and after missing.
Mike said they do not have it and I have to buy a new one.
Also no parking the 1 day we left the car was going to stay outside in the alley. We went to pickup the car and took back.
I would not recommend this place.

Not a good mechanic shop, please avoid at all costs. Mike the "owner" is just as shady as a lot of mechanics out there.

This place was a complete waste of TIME and MONEY! On top of that I got my car back with a completely different oil dip stick that was obviously forced in! The issue was not even fixed at all and when I picked up my car they made me walk to my car that was parked at the end of the block?? not even on their shop property, never again

They rebuilt my engine 2x because they f-d it up. Took them to court for being unlicensed to perform auto repair. They parked my car in the street and got $1800 of parking tickets then claim they didn't know.

Guys take forever for a rebuild engine, accepts your car knowing he hasn't finished probably like 20 other cars with only 2-3 employees. My truck is running fine but has a check engine on and starter wasn't adjusted makes one of the worst noises when starting. Not a good experience at this shop. Good luck!

This was my first time at M&G. I try to test a mechanic with a small job first but due to the fumblings of a mobile mechanic that "torpedoed" my engine I didn't have that luxury. Even in the bind I found myself in, Mike and the guys did a really great job rebuilding my engine. Double checked everything and then some when I came in for the one month oil change one does with a rebuilt and was so kind and patient with me as well. The price was beyond fair, kinda magnificent. Didn't have excuses why the price needed to increase, not by one single dollar, and my large SUV was ready......the day BEFORE it was due, not late whatsoever. Mike took me on the first test ride personally, didn't forget any little things I requested separately.... and after all this earning of my future business.... he gave me a SUPER awesome price to install my running boards. Not sure why some people said negative things at all, maybe they just like to b-tch and complain if they don't get everything for below cost and free labor then all heck breaks loose??! My experience was TOP NOTCH indeed!Services: Auto engine tuning

The worst place to ever take your vehicle!!!! They were supposed to fix my engine and it died on me in less than a month! After paying thousands of dollars to get it fixed the first time even with a “warranty” they still wanted to charge me to fix it!!!! Took my truck to get an engine rebuilt, they originally told me 3 weeks well it took 5 weeks once I got the truck back it started leaking coolant front several areas for one water pump water hoses had too go back an double check everything as they left several bolts loose, the worse part was my motor went bad again 2 cylinder were getting coolant, took my truck apart too find out all the cut corners they took too finish the truck the head was torque wrong their for the head leaking coolant again they use silicon for everything even for the injectors instead of buying the core t rubber orings they decided too cut corners I would not recommend this shop he charges ah full price but gives you half of the work

wrong place to go. dont waste your money and specially your time. started october 2021 after signing an agreement promise me average one month to do rebuilt an engine. after 6 months (march 30, 2022), finished it but has to do redo due to loud noise in the engine. they are still working on my range rover as of now. June 13, 2022. reported to BAR. Unlicensed mechanic. Not sure why city of los angeles allowed unlicensed mechanic operates. wonder if there are ways for them to stop scamming other customers like me.

Brought my car to get a engine rebuild for bend valves. Ended with a worst car. Was told it would be ready in 3 weeks ended getting the car back 3 months later. Got it back with an oil leak and weird noises from the pulley or belt side which he also replaced.. took it back he supposedly fix the leak after 2 weeks back the car would get over heated call him back since was under warranty and he just play it off for months saying he was busy and didn't have time to check it. Due to him replacing the belt which was smaller I ended having to replace other parts don't due business with Mike seem good at first and then he will show his scamming way..Service: Engine repair

It's interesting that Google Reviews shows mostly positive reviews. I wish I'd checked Yelp.com when I first looked it up. Boy was I fooled. I took my car in for an engine rebuild as the price seemed good and the Google Reviews were decent. Took over 2 months to do the job. My car was broken into in the meantime, stereo and other items stolen. I told him not to worry about the stereo as I didn't like it anyway. He said he would give me a discount on the extra parts. Still, now the engine makes noises it didn't have before. I took it into Pep Boys to get the wheels balanced. When they examined the engine they pointed out that my old belts had been re-used. "Extra parts" must not include new belts. The air-conditioning didn't work anymore after M&G was done. I took it to another mechanic to get the A/C refilled. The mechanic told me blue smoke was coming out when he started the motor which could mean a problem with the engine. After 600 miles I'm already a quart low on oil which means it's probably burning oil. Basically, when I got the car back it was in worse shape then when I brought it in. This place is a liability to any automobile. Just one look at the place and you'll see it's completely dis-organized. I was given a warranty but I'll take my loss rather than wait another 2 months to get it repaired or more damage done. Do yourself a favor and pay a bit more for a good clean mechanic elsewhere. I WOULD NOT recommend this place to anybody. No one deserves this kind of service.
