Walking distance from my place in Beverly Grove L.A. and boy am I glad. First found them in Manhattan and was delighted when they opened here. Good old chocolate cake does it for me, tho sometimes I swing vanilla, & the BF loves the Banana Pudding.
Gotta say I'm not a fan of their new prepackaged cake slices. I prefer seeing it sliced from the whole cake right before my very eyes the way Mom did it and God intended. The way they have slices now, in stacks of plastic boxes, makes it seem more like you're getting them from a vending machine than an old-time bakery. I guess it makes transactions quicker, but I hope they reconsider.

I had a pretty decent white cupcake with chocolate frosting and my friends loved their banana pudding! The location is super cute but parking can be a little tricky. The service was pretty nice considering we came in 15 min before they closed.

Recently their service has been incredibly slow. I went in and there were so many people waiting in line and only one person helping customers. There were a few other employees there but they weren't doing anything. Took me about 25 mins to get a cupcake. Also seems like they've gotten cheaper and inexperience when it comes to frosting their cupcakes. They used to frost them generously and beautifully. Now it's seems like they are piping them through a ziplock bag and drawing a small circle on the cupcake. Honestly strange. I've been a huge Magnolia fan over the years having lived in NY and visited many of their locations there and have been very happy but there seems to be a quality control issue at their LA location because the customer service and quality of the baked goods are not nearly the same.

Stopped by on a day trip to LA from San Diego because I had heard nothing but great things about their banana pudding. Upon walking in, I was greeted by four people which was really nice! It smelled delicious inside and the decorations around the place were detailed. The menu was easy to read and follow. It saddens me to say the pudding did not live up to my expectations. I ordered a small of the regular banana pudding, but it was almost unsweetened and had only a hint of banana flavor. I have made my own at home that tasted better!

My sister doesn't live too far and I was completely happy that she took me to this bakery. I had seen it many times on social media but never put 2 and 2 together for her to actually take me. This bakery is on a cute corner on a populated street. Parking is on the street or you can park in the neighborhoods and walk. It's worth the walk. Walking in, you're greeted by the employees and they wait patiently as you look at the menu and display window. Of course they let you try some samples. I was lucky enough to try the chocolate covered strawberry banana pudding. It was delicious. The wonderful employee gave us a tip about the cupcakes, if you're getting them towards the later half of the day, microwave them for about 10 seconds. It softens the buttercream and cake just enough and sets off the cupcake eating experience! She was a sweet employee and even asked my kids questions about what they liked. Her suggestions didn't miss at all. Thank you sweet lady, you made that experience great!

We got the large banana pudding and shared it. Pros - I don't remember the last time I had banana pudding, but it was really good. If you've never tried it and like bananas you should enjoy it. It's very light and not too sweet. I probably could have finished the large by myself if I was really hungry. - though I didn't try it their cakes look really good. Maybe next time. - cons - $8.75...meh...nice for a treat. -again with the machine asking for a tip...why? Overall - 8/10

I came to the bakery Sunday & of course by the time I arrived the hummingbird cake was all gone unfortunately. While I was there I asked if they would be making any the next day. She said "yes tomorrow". So I called Magnolia Bakery at approximately 9:10 am the following day & I again asked her if they will have hummingbird cake today. At first she said she didn't know, then she finally asked someone else & came back & told me that it would not be ready until a little after 12 noon. I drove all the way over there, then a girl told me that they have not made any & she didn't know if any would be made today. Very disappointing to me. The people that answer the phone & in-store do not give correct info.

I have seen ads for this place many times but never made the drive because it is quite a drive from where I live. Luckily, I was about ten minutes away and decided to try it out. I ordered the banana pudding and a Chai latte. The banana pudding was fantastic. Great consistency, and the flavors were very nice. The Chai latte was spicy but a little less sweet than I'd like, but overall, good. There was a small line, but the attendant was diligent and got orders out quickly. If I'm in town again, I will be coming back.

I usually get the banana pudding which is THE BEST. But today dropped by to taste some cakes for an upcoming birthday. As usual the bread in the cake is soooooo good. The servers are super friendly and even gave me a goodie bag and cupcake to sample! If you haven't tried them please do! Only inconvenience is the parking. All parking is street parking and 3rd st is always busy

We absolutely love Magnolia Bakery and their products....best ever!! Be cautious though with any subscriptions you may want to sign up for or give as a gift. Once you subscribe you cannot stop the subscription for any reason!!! We were given a monthly subscription to their pudding club and the product is shipped directly to our home on a monthly basis. Unfortunately we cannot choose the date and if we are traveling when it gets delivered it sits on our porch and ruins. I tried to see if we could get a credit to be used for other in store products instead of letting these monthly deliveries spoil on our doorstep but was told "no". I didn't want to take the monies away from them but instead wanted to be offered an in store option and they were unwilling to work with me. I cannot and will not recommend them to anyone in the future which is unfortunate.

Yum yum yum! Love the banana pudding. First tried it out in New York. It tastes exactly the same here in Cali. This pudding just gives you a sense of nostalgia. The service was friendly. I was able to bring my well behaved pup inside as I enjoyed my sweet treat. There's plenty of street parking even in a Saturday, it wasn't super busy. It's a cute little shop to visit. Be sure to stop by.

Absolutely garbage bakery. I paid online and received an “order confirmed” email but the employees were completely oblivious and the shop was sold out. Shop anywhere

The cupcakes are just as good as the ones in NY. The texture of the cakes are awesome and they are not too sweet. The good thing here is that there is no long line.
