Malik Books is a black-owned independent bookstore that has served the Los Angeles community since 1990. It is a rare gem offering a unique experience, specializing in African American books, calendars, and gifts full of cultural diversity. The store provides a large selection of diverse children’s books and conscious, hard-to-find, and best-selling titles. It offers incredible events and robust book selections. Customer service is great, resolving issues promptly and beyond expectation. Upon request, they can special order over 12 million book titles. Considered a treasure and a favorite bookstore, it is a recommended addition to any itinerary.
Whenever I go into Malik’s, I’m greeted as if I’m family. Visiting family members see why I love going to this particular bookstore. Amazing items and friendly staff and owner. This is my favorite bookstore on the Westcoast. The book selections are robust, the events are incredible, and the store is such a treasure. If you live in Los Angeles or are here to visit, add this to your itinerary.
