“I LOVE this place. This store is a plant lover's dream. I came to visit from Florida so they had tons of exceptionally rare plants I've never seen and beautifully potted. One of most unique things about this store is you can customize your plant, meaning you can choose any plant in the store and ask for it to be potted in whichever planter you wish (even if the planter already has a plant in it, they'll just repot your desired plant into that pot). Its SO amazing!
They have lots of statement plants like your australian bottle trees, song of india, various cactus, and so many more. Also some very unique volcanic rock vases. This is the place for interior designers too as they had some cool items you can display in the house such as large driftwood pieces. Honestly wish to keep this place a best kept local gem but they are very deserving of the business, answered all my questions, and loved plants as much as I do!”
“Sweetest people ever. Prices are insanely good for its quality. If you wanna stand out to your gf or any person special even a dude - honestly they have such a good variety. This is the place to go!”
“The lady is so nice, helpful and guides you on how to take care of the plants once you bring them home and the prices are the best in LA, I think is the most affordable nursery in town. This orchids are so healthy and the best price Ive found in Los Angeles!”
“Ordered 2 alter flower arrangements. Yuka made beautiful arrangements using white chrysanthemums, delivered prior to our service at Nishi Betsuin, across the street from their location. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. They also volunteer at Nishi's children's garden.
They also had a yard sale pop-up recently where they had their stem bar and found some lovely pinkish chrysanthemum, azaleas and a rose-like flower. Love being able to choose our flowers.”
“I'm not the gardener in the family - but my partner, who is, absolutely loved this place.
It's very aesthetically pleasing. Everything is arranged just so, with pink and green paint on the walls, and little displayed tucked away here and there.
You'd never know from the front door, but this place is deep, too. Many, many rooms, plus an outdoor area with bigger plants!
They also have some little non-plant Easter eggs, like a jukebox and pinball machine. It's just very cozy, very friendly, and a nice place to chill and get a couple houseplants!”
“Armstrong staff is great, especially Jonathan! He was so friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and very patient. We had so many questions, like how NOT to kill another gardenia plant, among other questions that he took the time to answer them all. Highly recommend visiting this location.”
“They truly delivered. Some things you just have to see in person and trust that when the day comes, they’ll get it done. Kenny and the team did exactly that.
We chose a simple curation, and it turned out elegant and beautiful. It’s the best way to honor a loved one’s memory with the care and thoughtfulness they put into every arrangement. Even on a sad day, seeing their flowers brought real joy.
You really do have to see it in person. Photos don’t do them justice.”
“Very Lovely nursery. Well organized. Really a treat to walk through. I would pay a cover charge to hang out here. Succulent collection as good as can be found within this much area. Largely outdoors thanks to the generous weather of Los Angeles. Also has good selection of soils, pots, vessels, Redwood baskets, wood, tools, many things needed for your home garden or yard . Densly packed place pretty well organized!!”
“I visited this beautiful venue for BeautyCon and it was the perfect location for all of the activities and goodies at this event! It felt like this place was architecture for this event! There was plenty of room for the food trucks and the panels, the classes, the booth, plenty of parking and for entertainment. I would 10 out of 10. Recommend this space if you’re planning any sort of event.”
“If you know nothing about plants this is the place to go. Bernie is AWESOME. Came in with a few ideas in mind but nothing specific and he was immediately so knowledgeable and helped out a lot with matching my check list with what i wanted in my plants. He also explained very detailed on each plant and how to take care of them. In the end he also helped me put all the plants and pots in the car. Will definitely come back :)))”
“Was helped by John - very nice guy who was honest and fair on pricing and gave me good advice on getting around the area as a non-local.
Please show your support of small businesses and order some flowers for delivery here!”
“I was at a large orange hardware store and wanting to purchase sod, though they had a small 12x12 square for 13 bucks!! I called Avalon Nursery, they can pre-order sod, but they have to have a few pre-orders, which is fine. Sod is expensive and doesn't have a lengthy shelf life. Anyhow, She had another customer who was wanting it, she will have it this weekend. This is a family owned and ran business. So why not make my purchase from a family owned business. I will also be picking up a few trees and citronella bushes. If they don't have it, ask, they might be able to get it. Thank you Avalon Nursery.”
“I work next door to the nursery and I had a plant emergency lol. I had accidently knocked over my co-worker plant pot and completely broke it. Lucky for me all I had to do was walk across the street to the nursey and had Randy help me out and he was able to sell me a new pot and replant my co-workers plant! And I couldn't be so happy and he was a such a chill guy and was so nice and patience with my situation. I will go back if I have any dilemmas and need any plants or plant pots in the future.”
“I am really pleased with my purchase, I was in a rush, and I was in and out in just a few minutes, the man and woman that helped me were so kind and thoughtful, and they quickly expedited their efforts to meet my headline. Highly recommend this place I've been here several times before!”
“I was looking for a new snake plant and Alexis was so helpful! I picked one out and a pot and she repotted it for me. I didn’t realize Anawalt had that service, so I’ll definitely be back with other plants to repot”
“Thank You Note
Dear Management and Staff,
I would like to sincerely thank you for the exceptional assistance you provided when I lost my truck keys. Your team went far above and beyond your normal responsibilities to help me locate them.
I was especially grateful that management took the time to review security camera footage in an effort to track down the keys. Your dedication and willingness to help during a stressful situation meant a great deal to me.
I would also like to recognize the employee who stayed past closing time to ensure that we were able to access our truck and get home safely. That level of care, professionalism, and customer service is truly outstanding.
Thank you all for your kindness, patience, and commitment to helping others. Your efforts did not go unnoticed, and I greatly appreciate everything you did for me.
Sincerely,
Tana Quinata”
“They offer an impressive selection of plants, which is why I always visit them whenever I’m planning to add something new to my home garden. The variety makes it easy to find plants for different spaces and styles, and the quality is consistently excellent. Each plant looks healthy, well cared for, and long-lasting, bringing a fresh and welcoming feel to my home. Their plant species truly help create a pleasant and vibrant atmosphere indoors, making them a reliable go-to place for anyone looking to enhance their living space with greenery.”
“Doug was compassionate and helpful when I stopped in with a question regarding my old gas mower. He seemed very busy at the time, but didn't hesitate to answer my questions. It is always a pleasure to see a small business that offers their time to assist a new customer.
Thank you, Doug!”

“Do you want newly grown babies, then come on down to the nursery. There is a huge selection to choose from. I can't wait to go back to this place and learn some more about plants and their life saving capabilities.”
“This is the place I've been looking for, my dreams of Bonsai trees, a large selection of plants and trees. If anyone is interested in buying bonsai trees, here is the place. Friendly people and an enjoyable place to be.”
“I love dewy flowers succulent pop up stand at the Grove! I have been buying gifts and small succulent terrariums for my home for several years now. The owners are a sweet retired couple who make the succulent creations themselves. Their designs are unique and special. Once a while ago a copy cat tried to open in the grove - it obviously wasn’t the same and they didn’t last. Also I am happy that somehow they were able to set up a pop up there in that busy location.”
“Hmmm, I just wish there were boxes at Checkout so that I could put my plants in and not get soil in the car. Other than that, Great Selection of Plants and price is right!”
“Absolutely fantastic customer service here. The whole team is friendly, positive, and always ready to help with anything you need or answer any questions. A big thank you to Mai and the associate in gardening with the orange earrings for helping me choose everything, Charles for handling the order, and Lawrence for the delivery. My plants arrived quickly, professionally handled, and in excellent condition. Truly an outstanding experience!”
“Shout out to Viviana, Yasmin and Josh definitely appreciate your thoroughness and professionalism in helping me locate the proper window shades! Great service at this location!”
“I was shopping at Home Depot the other day and was very impressed by one of the employees and his excellent customer service. Cesar (from the Garden department) was very helpful in pointing me towards what I was looking for in his department. Later, I was waiting for someone to help me in the Hardware department, and when Cesar walked by he noticed that I needed help and went out of his way to find someone to help me. He deserves all the praise and adoration! Thanks Cesar.”
“Luis in garden is unbelievable. He helped me figure out everything and then helped me pack the car 1 hour after store closing because I couldn’t do it myself. Thank you so much Luis for going
So above and beyond!!!!!!”

“This was my first time here, so many beautiful plants! An awesome nursery with a different variety of plants and accessories that you don't always see. I drove 1.5 hours away to get here and, I'll be coming back again”
