Olvera Street is an incredible piece of Los Angeles history and the oldest street in the city, offering a vibrant slice of Mexico. It is a beautiful blend of Spanish, Mexican, Indigenous and American culture, full of life, cuisine, creativity, kindness, and care. This fun place features a unique blend of street vendors, shops, and tiendas, creating a very authentic experience that is gratis and for everyone. Visitors can enjoy browsing the Mexican gift shops, food stalls, and restaurants. The food is excellent, with some of the best Mexican food you will ever taste. Popular spots include La Luz del Dia, La Noche Buena Restaurant, and El Paseo Inn, which has amazing food and drinks. For a must-try dessert, Mr. Churro is the real deal. A favorite is also the home of The Original Taquitos. Located near Union Station, it is a short walk from there. The area includes the Avila Adobe, the oldest residence, and Los Angeles Plaza Park, where you can often find funky music and dancing people, free to join. It is a fun place with a great atmosphere, sometimes featuring mariachi music. The street has museums, shops, desserts, and is rich in Latin culture, offering crazy experiences. While some shops may close earlier, and parking can be limited, it remains an amazing, fun part of the very heart of Los Angeles.

Even though we came on a rainy day, there were tons of tourists! Busy little shopping alley, great restaurants and cute little knicknacks to buy. Wear some walking shoes cause parking is ridiculous!

Always a good spot to visit. It's a little piece of Mexico, in the center of LA. Try them fried tacos! Or all the Mexican candy !! Parking is good too!
