I recently hired Oz to manage my move from Brooklyn, NY, to Southern California, shelling out a substantial $10,000 plus tip for their services. To my dismay, they caused a staggering $3100 in damages to my property.Oz's negligence resulted in the destruction of our daughter's brand-new bed frame and mattress, along with a 55" OLED TV that was previously in perfect condition. We had paid extra for Oz to handle the packing and preparation of these items, but their improper handling and packing methods led to the damage. I don't know how you can break a mattress, but somehow they managed. What's even more infuriating is Oz's refusal to take responsibility for their actions. They dismissively claim that this is a "high-risk industry" and insist we should have purchased additional insurance coverage, shifting the blame onto us. This response is entirely unacceptable, given their incompetence. Hiring a moving company for packing should mean you don't need to spend extra on insurance – a competent company should ensure the safety of your items. If you read other reviews you'll see the same complaints, and the same casual indifference from Oz.I can only give them one star because I have to, and that's solely because our belongings eventually arrived. To be fair, I had used Oz before without issue. I'm not sure if the company changed owners or if something changed due to the pandemic, but buyer beware - Oz isn't worth the risk.

Oz Moving & Storage destroyed $3100 worth of our possessions. Oz improperly packed our TV and the screen was bent and cracked upon delivery. They broke our toddler daughter’s bed frame, and crushed the mattress — all of which were essentially brand new. This was the sloppiest move I have ever seen. Boxes were crushed during transit, and they packed items improperly. I would never use Oz again and I’m in the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. The company failed to do its basic job. If I could give them 0 stars I would. What is most sad is that they won’t reimburse us for the items because we only had basic insurance. However, this was not a dish or lamp breaking by accident, this was our daughter’s bed and our TV completely destroyed by improper packing, which was their responsibility.

They simply did not do their job.

We just completed a cross-country move with the help of Oz Movers and I can't recommend them highly enough. We have a lot of valuable art and furniture and only one small glass broke along the way from NY to CA. Their team in NYC was efficient, professional and good-spirited; their team in CA was just as reliable, as was the office coordinating logistics. Monica was particularly responsive and accommodating. Will be returning to them for any future moves!

I used OZ moving company for my move from NY to CA and they were wonderful to work with. I just used them again for a close by move within California and I am not pleased. All of our stuff was thrown into boxes completely disorganized. Glass tossed in, sweaters and towels that were perfectly folded smashed in. None of the boxes were labeled at all, it was a complete guessing game. I have moved many times and I hate feeling that my personal belongings are not cared for. I have many broken items.

Update: After a bit of back-and-forth, Oz did cover the items they lost and damaged. While my review below still stands, I wanted to acknowledge that after completing some paperwork they did cover the items. Appreciate their gesture here!---If you're looking for movers to burn cigarette holes in the furniture they do deliver, lose other items, and shatter mirrors and framed photos they packed themselves — all while delivering a week late with zero proactive communication — you've come to the right place!Honestly the most disappointing service provider I've used in many years. Stay away.

BEWARE!! The quote I was given was not honored and once they came and loaded the truck they tried to charge us an additional 30% and when we disputed it the foreman became upset and unloaded our items!! After a two hour ordeal we finally got half of our move done but they forgot to move some items we paid for, and part of our everyday stainless steel kitchen cutlery and tablecloths were all missing. I called to inquire and never got a call back. I don't know what kind of "business" these people are running but we definitely got swindled!!

I would leave zero stars if I could. I had a foreman called Manuel and one other worker. They were extremely slow and took 6 hours to move me out of a one bedroom apartment and another 6 to move me into another one bedroom 20 minutes away. They broke 2 of my furniture items while rebuilding them, they charged me overtime and for 2 hours that they were on break. they were unprofessional and rude as well as unable to converse with me in English. They over charged an obscene amount over 2000. Worst experience moving I have ever had and I have moved 6 times and twice cross country New York to Los Angeles and back for far less money. Please do not waste your time with this company. Manual and Carlos are awful is terms of customer service and they had gall to ask for a tip after overcharging me and then proceeded to not even complete the job properly OZ IS THE WROST MOVING COMPANY OF ALL TIME!!!

A friend recommended Oz for my recent cross country move (Southern CA to upstate NY), and I couldn't be happier with how it went. Great communication with the LA office before the move, movers were professional and handled my things with care, and nothing was lost or damaged in transit. I received everything earlier than expected (even though I changed my plans for storage at the last minute), and I ended up paying about 60% less than every other moving company quoted me (with no hidden fees). I would definitely hire them again!

Hands down the worst moving company I've ever worked with. I used OZ Moving & Storage to move from California to Tennessee and thousands of dollars worth of furniture and personal belongings were damaged. On the day of move-in, only one person employed by the company showed up to our house and his hand was broken so he couldn't do any lifting. He ultimately ended up calling two of his friends to help with the move because no one else from OZ showed up to work. After assessing the damages, I reached out to the claims department. It took weeks to get a response, with me having to follow up numerous times by phone and email. I ended up getting reimbursed $800, (the total cost of the move was $15K+) which only covered a small fraction of the damages. Have never had this experience with a moving company before and would never work with OZ Moving again.

Oz has helped us move from NYC to California and we also used them here in California to move from one place to another. Overall great service, crew very polite, quick and the price was reasonable comparing to other companies. Nothing got broken either move.

The movers smoked weed all day and at 4pm told us they'd come back tomorrow. Another crew needed to come in to help them finish. For our cross country move, there was not one box that did not have something smashed in it. They broke furniture, TV sets, anything and everything - not just the fragile stuff. Many boxes did not ever show up. After we called and described our missing stuff they found a couple things and dropped them off weeks later. Lost probably 10 boxes with sentimental and valuable stuff and could not care less. They compensate 60 cents a pound (nothing) on some signature they never explain when they show up. DO NOT USE IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE.
