No drinks allowed in but none for sale -- not even a single water fountain. We sat for hours with no drinks. It's sort of beat up but also warm inside. Skip it if you can.

I enjoy nostalgia and the Palace has you dreaming if these walls could talk. A smaller venue that is perfect for an up close and personal experience to enjoy your favorite artist. The staff was accommodating and the seating was surprisingly comfortable. The theater district is scenic and I would appreciate it being cleaned up.

I enjoyed the location. Nice and clean. Found parking near by. 10min walk.

Went for the Matt Rife show, it was an overall good experience. As with most of his shows you can expect drunk girls heckling and trying to get his attention. As the headliner I was disappointed that his set was only 15 minutes. There were many other great performers, but expected the main act to be a bit longer.

Great place. Built in 1911. Charming and small venue on Broadway. Sat in 10th row on floor. Balcony gave reasonable views too.

This place is a historic landmark. With that said, they can't do too much renovation - and they haven't. It is nice to see the historical architecture, but the seats are very small and packed in. I'm 5'3" and had to sit sideways to fit my knees. It definitely smells old. There is a bar at the entrance and another downstairs where the restrooms are located. No food sold, only candy. Careful going down the stairs, the halls aren't very well lit, and the steps are steep and made for small feet. The bathrooms are old and smelly. Look up, and you can see people standing above you at the entrance (through glass "bricks"). I've seen a concert and stand-up comedy here. For the stand-up, the lighting was terrible/stage was very dark - we couldn't see the comedian's face (we were on the floor, not far from the stage). Don't know if they didn't want the spotlight or if the lighting person forgot. ? The sound was a little off, as well. Very sharp treble. Not sure I would see another show here. It would have to be something special.

The scenes in Michael Jackson's Thriller video where Michael Jackson and Ola Ray were standing in front of the movie theater were filmed here. The inside theater scenes were filmed in a different theater.

Beautiful historical theatre. I attended a Cinespia event (my first one at this location). It was a lot of fun. The theatre is ornate worth breathtaking detail. The downside would be the seats are small and very close together.

We visited the elegant Palace Theater a few years ago during the now defunct Night on Broadway event and loved the decor. Recently we got the chance to see a show at the Palace ("Suspiria" and Goblin) so that was a nice treat! The Palace is located on Broadway, in the heart of the Theater District, close to Pershing Square subway stop. The Palace was built on 1911 as part of a vaudeville theater chain and it was called the Orpheum. Not the nowadays Orpheum which was built later. It was a regular theater, a second run cinema. Recently it was restored and it is in a pretty good shape!Love the murals and ceiling decor! The chairs are dark red velvet. Might not be comfy for some folks, but they were OK for us. We sat at the balcony and had a great view of the stage. The sound was good, lighting could have been better, some timing here and there wasn't the best, but nothing really bad either. They have various bars so they check for ID-s. We didn't get any. Restrooms, small and kinda dark in stalls, pretty clean otherwise, on the old side, but decent. We enjoyed the show and loved the venue, it is nice to have historic theaters like this around, it makes it for a better experience!

Solid, historic theatre in DTLA. Back when it opened as a burlesque theatre in its "hey day", it boasted "no seat more than 80 feet from the stage." I think they had less seats then. lol Good view from stage left orchestra. And seats are all angled so the row in front is slightly lower, as well as the seats being offset, so you are not directly behind the person sitting in front of you. Acoustics are pretty good, but there were a few "hot mic" moments. Given the sound engineer has been touring with this band for years, I'm guessing it was an in house snag, but it was resolved quickly enough. Restrooms are large and were clean when I used them shortly after "doors open" time, which was an hour before the show start. Didn't use them again through our stay, so don't know if they're maintained throughout the night, or just prior to opening. While in queue waiting, IDs are check for those purchasing adult libations. We were not this evening, but noticed a second large bar downstairs by the bathrooms that went unnoticed/unmentioned unless patrons happened down that way. Security was good, efficient and friendly. I'd come here again for a concert.

Looks fairly the same as it did during the filming of Michael Jackson's Thriller. Sadly it is closed.

The 3 stars has nothing to do with the show. The show itself is 5 star. Why the double rating? If you arrive early, an usher will help you find your seats. You need the assistance because labels don't exist except on the seat itself on the arm rest (1/2"×1"dirty bronzecolor metal label), and lighting is poor. As it draws near the show time start.. all ushers are overwhelmed and cannot assistance everyone and you cannot just sit anywhere because someone bought use of that seat. It gets packed in there. Sold out environment. Solution is simple.. black vinyl text cutouts 3"high text of section and rows. Its not expensive.LIGHTS AT MEZZANINE AREA... it will be right in your face! The lights should be aiming higher.. its a quick fix at no cost.Restrooms... All gender Restroom means ladies n gentleman will be in the ....same line... making a huge long line and if you use a stall to do #2.. you're gonna wish you took care of that at home. This fix is to go to the "dungeon level" to find old fashioned segregated Restrooms. Shorter lines too. Nobody tells you about the different Restrooms. For those not reading this posted rating.. they are just gonna have to figure it out.Seats... cramped!!!! If you're morbidly obese... you'll have a problem here. Tall people... you'll have a problem here, but wait for the show to start then relocate to the edge seats (you'll see what I mean) for extra leg space. Now I don't know what accommodations they have for big n tall people.. im sure they will reply with a post regarding the accommodation.Other than that... GREAT SHOW!

Saw Jimmy Carr do his stand up show here as part of the Netflix Is A Joke Festival, and while the show was spot on, I can't say this is a venue I'd like to frequent again. First off, parking is a nightmare. Do not park in the lot right across the street. It took 45 minutes to get, because the previous show was trying to get out (there was a 7pm show and a 9:30pm show), and an hour to get out after the show. There is probably a better place a block or two away that won't be as busy or packed. Now, as I said, there were two performances. One at 7:00 and one at 9:30pm. I barely got to the doors of theater by 9:30 because of the parking lot mayhem, and there I encountered two gigantic lines to get in. They had only started letting people in. The show didn't even start until 10:30pm. Then, a third of the way through the show, it seems they shut off the air conditioning, and in a nearly sold out venue it got real hot and muggy real quickly. Not my favorite place to see a show. Then again, I'm not a fan of most of the Downtown LA places. Oh, and the seats smell like mold and stale urine.

This is a very old theatre that does not have an elevator to get to the 2nd floor balcony area. They really need to do a better job of advertising that when someone is buying balcony tickets. My boyfriend walks with a cane and was unable to get up the several stairs to the balcony. I will say that that staff were very kind and helpful with finding us accommodations on the first floor. However there is no bathroom on the first floor, only on the 2nd floor or basement, which again requires using stairs. This building is not very accessible to anyone who needs physical accommodations. The 3 stars I'm giving are really for the staff. They were very kind and as helpful as they could be.
