This was my first move using PODS. I will never use anyone else! The cost was a fraction of what other moving company's quoted and it was extremely easy! We did not have any damage to anything. Everyone we came into contact with was very professional and friendly. I had a few questions and the customer service team or the MYPOD app account answered everything. Well done!

They waited until the day of to say Pod was undeliverable to address (they needed 40ft of street parking and needed clearance from city?) and I had to spend an extra 300 dollars to fix this. Should have been addressed the day we booked. If you dont have a driveway and live in the city be prepared to rent a uhaul to go get it.

I had the same experience as all the 1-star reviews here: Pods cancelled my shipment the day it was supposed to leave with a bogus claim about a missing form I’d submitted six months earlier. Luckily I had an email acknowledging that the form was received, so they promised “expedited shipping” (a lie, it never happened), and a 25% refund for my troubles— then only refunded me 15%. They still haven’t delivered my container. They’ll lie to you, then lie again to placate you, and then keep on lying. Unbelievable.

They cancelled delivery last minute (hour before scheduled delivery) over the phone and driver could not provide reasonable alternatives for delivery. Manager was asked to call me to discuss options but never did. Instead, delivery was rescheduled to 2 days later without any other options (only notified by email), which of course disrupted my plans that had been made weeks in advance around this POD delivery (moving cross-country). Upon arriving at my new home without my furnishings from the POD, I had to rent a moving truck, drive to the HQ where the POD was being held, unloaded my furnishings into the truck myself (including MY BED!), and drive back to unpack and move into my new house. I was not reimbursed for the rental truck and the dispute claim email said PODS found "no error" in how they handled the situation. I would give 0/5 for the poor communication if I could. I would NEVER recommend using this service to anyone, and I will certainly not be using PODS again.

Terrible experience. We chose PODs because of the long-term storage to destination, but they are so much less qualified and professional than a full-service moving company. They overcharged us repeatedly, provided inadequate and rude customer service when this was brought to their attention, didn't deliver to the final destination (which they informed us of on the morning of the move), and repeatedly failed to provide us a full transaction history/receipts for our account. I would never use this company again, nor would I ever recommend it.

Avoid at all costs. Have been trying to schedule my pods to be delivered for over a week and they can't help me do it because of a "technical issue". They have no way of overriding this and they basically have our belongings with us having no way to retrieve them. There is no manager to speak with and the representatives you speak with have no ability to schedule drop off if their website isn't working. This is verging on fradulent/criminal if there is no resolution or path to getting our pods scheduled.

I WILL NEVER USE PODS AGAIN. This was the absolute WORST experience, and if I could give them negative stars I would. It's already a hassle having to move across the country (I moved from Denver to LA), and PODS made it 110x worse. It was not communicated to me that there had to be a seven day delivery period, so my stuff was five days later than I had planned. I had to call four separate times and spoke with four different reps. None of them helped me, and at one point, a customer service rep not only kept me on the phone for an hour but then ADDED $300 to the cost. There was no space for PODS in my apartment building, which would have been fine, but then the driver was half an hour late OUTSIDE of the delivery window. I had a moving team waiting all day and they charged me extra because PODS was late. To add insult to injury, my TV broke in the move. I have tried contacting PODS via email as well, and the customer service rep STILL did not help me with the incorrect charges. To charge me almost $2500 for this "service" is a joke. At this point, PODS owes me money for my broken TV and the extra time I had to pay for the movers because they were late. -1982837298293847382929328748393 stars

Honestly, I had a fantastic experience with my cross country move using pods! I was a bit worried at first with all the previous reviews (some pretty sad) but never at any juncture did I have a similar experience. I'm now chocking up many of those reviews to other people's poor planning or inability to be clear on their dates, needs, costs and paying attention to the very simple requirements on their end. Nowhere did I encounter any bait and switch with pricing or anything... PODS was very upfront with cost (which ended up exactly as quoted) as well as my expectations for dates, drops offs pickups etc. Maybe some of these other folks just need to be on top of their moves a bit more and pay attention? I also had a great and easy interaction picking up my stuff at this PODS location where they dropped it for me. The on site coordinator was happy to help me find my pod asap, left plenty of space for my movers to pull in their truck, and was available consistently through my time there in case I had questions! Everything was super easy, clear and seamless, so I would highly recommend PODS going forward!

Customer service was generally terrible. When calling customer service (which was often needed), typically was an hour or more wait. You could request a callback, but if you got busy or were at work and missed the call, had to start the process all over again. The website was a mess. Got daily emails saying I had to sign my rental agreement, but the website showed all my forms were completed. Then I got a voicemail saying if I didn't complete my forms, my POD wouldn't ship. So I waited on hold again just to find out it was the moth & lanternfly form, which I had tried to submit numerous times, receiving an error message each time and therefore unclear if it was completed, and there was no indication on the website it was still incomplete. The agent had to fix something on the back end and then the form could finally be completed.I moved from Houston to LA. When I arrived in LA the drop-off came, but my driveway wasn't big enough for the POD (I had purchased the POD before knowing where I would be living). Additionally we couldn't do street drop-off because all the street parking was occupied. So I had to re-schedule, but when I called and waited on hold (again), they told me it would be over a week before I could re-schedule drop-off. This was entirely unacceptable to me after paying almost $3,000 for the POD as I had a very tight timeframe. After much back and forth my only option was to spend more money to rent a moving truck myself, drive to the PODS warehouse and transfer my stuff from the POD to the truck, then drive everything to my new place. Several other people were at the warehouse doing the same thing. If you have someone's entire life in your hands during a crucial junction, you need excellent and responsive customer service, plus you need to have forgiving wiggle room for when things go wrong. It's very hard to know the exact dimensions of your new home driveway from afar, or to make sure the street is cleared when you're just moving in and don't know your neighbors. You can't just suspend someone's life for over a week, and you have to be able to quickly respond and reschedule drop-off when something goes wrong. Would never do PODS again or recommend to anyone. The ONLY positive thing was all the on the ground workers (truck driver, warehouse workers) who were friendly, reliable and directly helped us to get around the problem when the customer service and systems issues with PODS completely burned us.

“Contactless delivery” is a complete lie. The driver dropping off the POD container needed us to sign a surprise waiver last minute in-person and when I said I could be there in 5 minutes to sign, told me they already canceled my delivery and to call customer service to reschedule (which had a 2+ hour hold time), leaving us scrambling to reschedule movers and our entire move. Worst experience I’ve ever had with a company by far.

Despite of the offered convenience, PODS is difficult to deal with, by phone or on-line. The agents are not well trained, and have no authority to make the decisions needed if you encounter an issued. I had to make a change of PODS warehouse address in the same city, and the agent canceled my order, opened a new one, with an additional charge of more than $2,000. It has been already 7 days of constant, but useless, contacts with several agents by phone, emails, and website. I'm still struggling to solve my overcharge and there is no manager able to respond my calls.

PODS has terrible customer communication. My first experience was positive with them when booking and ultimately why I chose them but be warned it only gets worse from there. You barely receive accurate updates and they force you to call them for everything, but refuse to return the favor. The cancelled my POD transfer across state lines due to a form I had submitted weeks before when asked. They did not communicate the cancellation to me and was only made aware when I called to confirm my POD delivery information. This delayed my move, well after I had already moved in. Then, on top of that, the day before they were supposed to deliver it told me they refused because of the street I lived on and I'd be forced to pick up my contents from the storage site.Overall, this is a costly service with terrible customer support and not worth the headache in my opinion.

My delivery was canceled the day before because the delivery agent did not read my notes regarding dropoff details. I was left with empty-handed movers. After PODS has your money, they will not pick up the phone nor provide any information about your move.

I was considering using U-Haul to move to a different state, but PODS turned out to have far fewer headaches involved.

This company is horrible. They came and left without even ringing the doorbell (they refuse to ring the doorbell). If you need a pod immediately, do not order it from this company. They are unreliable. Customer service couldn't do anything. They couldn't even add insurance after the order was placed. I couldn't understand the agent and I regularly interact with people from all over the world. My suggestion is never to use this company unless there is no other choice.
