The simple seafood orient menu is solid. The drinks were mixed- my old fashioned was just on, but my wife's drink was spot on. Wait staff were friendly. My only gripe is that this restaurant tacks on a 18% service charge that is not a gratuity. Thank goodness this will end in July due to legislation, but it's a terrible policy. Just price the food correctly.

Billing terrible. They added an 18 pct gratuity fee and then asked for at least a 20 percent tip on top of that claiming a gratuity was not the same as a tip. This used to happen in the 1970s in Europe before it was outlawed and I would predict the same here. It is completely dishonest if the idea is to artificially set prices lower and fool the customer. It’s a shame because food and service were fine. So as long as you understand the game it’s ok but to play the game detracts from the dining experience. We are here to relax not to watch our wallets.

The food was great . However , I was charged a service (14%charge ) and it was just me . Not sure why ? I guess it would be better to get take out if it’s just you . Parking is difficult. I always found street parking a few blocks over .Parking: Be prepared to park walk for a few minutes depending on the time and day .

Recommended to me as a good seafood restaurant but sadly it fell down in most areas. The two mains that we chose were the trout and clam linguine. When the linguine came out I thought they had made a mistake and it was a starter size, but no it was the main! It also lacked taste. The trout was excellent. I ordered a bottle of wine that was forgotten about until I reminded the staff and ended up only having a glass as I had mostly finished my meal at that stage. To be fair the restaurant deleted the cost of the linguine as we expressed our surprise about the size. The restaurant includes an automatic 18% service charge which impacted the amount that we tipped. Sadly will not be back or recommending.

They add an 18% service charge on top of your bill that is not considered gratuity. This means that fees + tip will run you almost 30-40% of your bill. The food was actually pretty good and so was the service, but this 18% fee created an unnecessarily unpleasant situation. Like, how do I know the owners aren't just pocketing the 18%? Does it all of it even go to the workers? I thought about bringing it up with a server or manager but it just felt sooo awkward to do. If I'm paying $90+ for lunch for 2 people, I don't want to have to deal with a potentially super awkward interaction with people who probably have zero control over this fee in the first place. It was less about the actual $ amount paid, as mine was only like $13, but there's a weird feeling about paying extra and being expected to blindly trust that the owners are actually "facilitating" higher wages. The whole thing made me feel icky and was a sour end to an otherwise really enjoyable meal. I really would've preferred that they just built it into the menu prices so it wouldn't cause people to do all of this mental calculus. Anyhow, if this doesn't bother you, it's worth a visit if you're craving seafood. But personally I will not be back.

Went for a birthday lunch and it was a nice upper casual place. The seafood was all cooked to perfection! The service was formerly of fast, we were some of the only people there at 1:30 on a Saturday. They had great cocktails, the lobster rolls were great and the hamachi starter is a must! Definitely want to come back

Tasty food, good service. SEVERELY disappointed in the 18% Service Charge that is not (???) a tip. Lazy owners placing the burden on customers to tip twice aka 36-40% (!!!!) so they can pay their employees living wages. What a joke. Never coming back. Never recommending. Stay away from this scam. I feel sorry for the staff at this establishment. There are far better restaurants in Los Angeles that don't take advantage of their staff and customers.

I came into this place on the fly and let me say it did not disappoint. They have a cool boat ship old school theme inside but you're not here for the ambiance you're here for the happy hour and food. The service was good they came to the table often but let's get to the food. They had oysters which were $2 bucks happy hour. At first I hesitated but then when I heard they were kushi I was like let's try it. We added on top of that the Cesar salad and the ahi tuna which was wrapped in a shell and filled with guac. All of it was fantastic. Lastly their happy hour drinks included a beer that came with a shot of tequila... it was well worth the entire experience.

I wouldn't go there. They're the group that charges 18% on top of your regular bill while stating that the extra charge goes towards all of their employees. The problem is that the employees, according to an LA Times article, can't find any proof that anything of the 18% goes to them.In practical terms, that means if one tips the servers 20% since they couldn't afford to live otherwise, you end up paying 148% of the cost of the meal.It could, therefore, be possible to assume that the 18% goes to the employees, and the owners most likely have their corporation pay themselves the owners a salary, the owners are giving themselves an EXTRA 18%.This might not be true to some extent but, one has to wonder. For me, go there? Hahaha

The food was good, the service was ok, even though the restaurant is pricey the restaurant charges an 18% service fee and states this isn't a tip. So if you leave a tip there is a 40% premium on your meal. Outrageous is an understatement.
