So cool. The Rare Book Annex was so neat. Picked up a couple new 'to me' books. The vibe in the place was really laid back but also like they were sharing secrets.

Wow, here is not just a simple bookstore! Iconic landmark of downtown LA and core of artistry. The bookstore is full of amazing book collections. And never miss the second floor with artist workrooms. Every corner is fantastic!

Not just a book lovers delight but also great for those interested in music, CDs, history or even Instagram worthy spots. Spread over two levels, you’ll find all kinds of rare books here. There’s also a cafe and merchandise for purchase. There’s a shelf with $1 products comprising mostly cds but also some books. They take your bags at the entrance and return it when you’re leaving.Be careful of people hanging around outside and down the street asking ‘for change’ etc.

Pro Tip : Go to the 2nd floor once you enter because that's the fun part. Also, it closes half an hour before the full closure. So, if you are arriving in the evening, you don't wanna miss it. Overall, an amazing place for book lovers. Loved the book tunnel and book hole. Don't forget to take someone with you to take good pictures ?. They also have DVDs if you are interested in that collection. The second floor also has a separate section where a person sells cute badges and hand painted collages.PS : Check out my photos for some cute things that you may encounter.

A very neat place with a very artsy feel. There are art studios spread throughout the 2nd floor where you can view and purchase very unique artwork. There are some nice displays, one of a kind books, and they even sell pre-selected book bundles for the adventurous reader. The only downside is that I was expecting it to be bigger.

Wonderful Shrine to Book Lovers from all over the world. Based in an old bank and converted to a bookstore many years ago with fascinating original features such as large vaults with original steel doors. Seating area with comfortable sofas and armchairs to enjoy leaving through huge selection of books on every conceivable subject. Upstairs is even more interesting with a Labyrinth of books that is tricky to navigate your way through. If you're a book lover, then this should be your first stop!

A wonderful bookstore, that is surprisingly large! There are different rooms, and nooks and crannies to be explored here. You could easily spend an entire day wondering about the different aisles and sections. They have music records, rare books, and many aisles filled with books. If you love bookstores, this place is for you : )

This is a fun place to visit. Great prices, mind blowing selection, and lots to see/do. Brought my teenage kids along, one was just being difficult...but after half an hour he was thrilled and picked out a whole collection of books to buy.

I was worried that The Last Bookstore could not live up to the hype. Well, I am happy to say that if anything it exceeds the hype!!Also, it is not only a used bookstore but also sells new books! There are so many nooks and crannies both upstairs and down to search for whatever book you are, or aren't, looking for :) In addition to books they also have individual artisan shops upstairs and art installations throughout. And of course, there are the many photo spots like the famous book tunnel :)This is such a wonderful place to wonder because you never know what you'll find around the next corner. The staff is both friendly and helpful. There is some metered street parking but we parked in an indoor parking lot around the corner. I also want to mention that the streets in the area were cleaner than I have seen them in years.

The store is amazing and smells history and legacy. Lots of vinyls and you can find some rare items. Books in the special collection behind the glass are rare and precious too. Staff is friendly and inside is very spacious.

Cool bookstore in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Entry is free. There are so many different genres of books available here. Apart from books you there are also a few small stores on the first floor where you can purchase photo frames, posters, custom decor etc.. On the top floor you can also see books arranged in unique ways that are definitely photographic. Definitely a must visit when in LA and it’s a walkable distance from other touristy places in LA such as the Angels flight railway, the broad, Walt Disney concert hall etc.

What a neat, unique place! I made the mistake of going on a Saturday morning, so the masses of people walking every which way was kind of annoying and definitely overstimulating. However, there are so many places to get lost (in a good way). I could spend hours here (days, really) discovering all its nooks and crannies. Downstairs is essentially a traditional layout with racks of books and a section for music/media. There is a side room immediately to the left of the entrance which holds rare and/or otherwise valuable pieces. The second floor layout is a tight little marvel in itself, where half is art studios and a small gallery. I don’t know if they do events, but it would definitely be a cool and unconventional place for it. If any one place can save the art of print, it’s here.

Always been a book lover so visiting bookstores are one of my favorite things to do. The Last Bookstore is a great shop to check out while in downtown LA. Make sure to go upstairs to wander around the maze of bookshelves!

I think at this place has become a must visit whenever you're in LA. They have a cool little book tunnel upstairs. This is a decent size book store. They carry both new and used books. They have a horror section for people who are into vampires, witches, demons, etc. It's pretty creepy. They have a wonderful children's section. I love that they have plenty of places for people to read and relax. Upstairs, they have a $1 section. I can easily spend an hour or more here. So much to look at. Parking is 50/50. It's by luck. Sometimes you get amazing parking, sometimes you'll circle the area many times before you finally find one.
