What's the point of reserving a truck 2 weeks in advance if they're just going to tell you the reservation isn't final until they call you the day before to tell you the truck isn't available and to try another location? Probably the biggest inconvenience of my move.Trash.

This was my worst experience with U-haul. I have been using your services for the past 6 years and never had any problem. I probably rented from you about 7 times already and I am truly disappointed with the service I got from this last reservation. Briefly: I had scheduled topic up a 15 foot truck at 9.30 AM on the Overland location. I got there, there was no one there and the truck was not there. The guy from the smog shop gave me a umber of a "John" that represented U-haul. He told me that the truck went to repair and that I should go to another location on Venice blvd. I got there and there was no truck for me. I called U-haul traffic and they directed me to another location on S Western ave. I got there, they had the truck but none of the 2 dolly I rented... I ended up spending much more on milage, gas and time since this location is far from my home. I was only able to start moving around 11.30.... A similar thing had happen to my friend a week before (I recommended my friend to use U-haul) and I saw some lady complaining about a similar thing that same day. I will definitely consider using another company next time I need and I can no longer recommend U-haul to any friend. It's sad that things have to be this way but I have a feeling that this is a widespread issue with overbooking and lack of efficient management from your side. Moving is already stressful and one should not have to deal with this things after having planned everything....

Had a reservation for 2:30 but gate was locked and place was empty, did not pick up the phone either. Waited for over half an hour and still no one showed me. Don't confirm a reservation if you're not going to be open... complete waste of my time and money and hugely inconvenienced my move out process.

This place is a scam!!!!!!!! They don’t do Uhaul here even though my order shows this as where my uhaul is supposed to be picked up. They looked at me like I was an idiot for being there. Uhaul needs to remove their branding from this location, they don’t do Uhaul and will take your money and waste your time!

Avoid this dealer, the guy is on his period and has selective hearing.

Customer service is a function of good communication. This location does not shine in this department but makes up for it with the overall full set of Uhaul services

Very shady operation. “We need your credit card information before I can tell you our availabilityâ€

Rented a 10ft truck for 5 hours drive 16 miles. Should have been $50. First he swiped my AMEX card twice and to realize he charged me for the wrong truck. My CC security kicked in for the multiple swipes and locked the card. He than ran my Visa for the correct amount. He told me the ANEX would be refunded in a few days and it never was. I have been fighting these charges but In the end I paid $300 for the damn truck. Weirdest part is I picked the truck up at 9:30am brought it back at 3pm and he had no idea who I was or how I got his truck. This place is very unprofessional and U-Haul should be embarrassed to have their name on this place. Never go here

The most untransparent pricing ever! Rent: 10" box truck for 8 hrs (Tue 2/5/19 from 11a-7p) Total: $140 (including $9 gas I refilled) Used: 18 miles (Culver City to Hollywood) And of course it says $19.95 on the truck. I was expecting to pay $80 max with everything for a quick borrow. Next time I'll certainly look elsewhere as there are many more reasonably priced companies with the same truck if you spend 5 extra minutes researching.

Always a bad experience they make it like it's a good deal but then they gouge you after with miles or gas . Trucks seem like they could use a little maintenance.

Asks for credit card over phone without telling you if they have trucks or not. Multiple times. Seemed very much like a SCAM.

My comment stems not so much from the location but rather the operations service. I don't usually leave comments/reviews unless the service was gnarly bad or amazing. In this case, it's not the customer service that was bad but operations altogether. Having placed a reservation with Uhaul on Friday, 8/31 for a 4-hour move from 10am-2pm on Saturday, 9/1, I checked in normally (not online the day before) and went to 3573 Overland (from my old apartment - a distance of 1.2 miles); the store manager indicated that the truck was not there. I then had to call Customer Service, which told me that I had to go to 4550 Hollywood Blvd (12 miles from my old apartment) to pick up the truck. These extra miles should not have been charged to my account, and I should have a refund since the fact that the original truck was not available was out of my control, and I received no advance notice. Upon getting the new reservation at Hollywood, I was told that I'd have a $50 reservation credit. I asked if this money would be transferred to my banking account twice (both in person at the 4550 Hollywood location and then on the phone on Tuesday, 9/4 with a customer service representative. Both answered that my banking account would be credited. And then speaking on the phone today 9/12 with Monica, she answered promptly and gave me a credit. But this credit was for future use with Uhaul. I will not be using Uhaul anytime soon, mostly because I'm not going to be moving and also because of the way this process was handled. I'm not even sure if posting this on Yelp will help because the other reviews have a similar tone. The self-moving market is ripe for disruption. While I see that refunding this money is not an option from the credit Terms & Conditions, please reconsider and make that option available. Why bother having a reservation function if the trucks will not be available?

I don't get the attrocious reviews. I rented a 10' truck and two dollies. Got exactly what I wanted and with the promised price. Sure this little place is not the Ritz Carlton... But who cares? The poor fellow the behind the counter must be the owner. He is the only one working there so sometimes you have to wait a little longer to get help. The fellow also does auto repair, smog and DMV transactions.

This place is a scam. I had to rent a pick up truck to get furniture 17 miles round trip. I filled the tank up as high as it would go before returning it for $3.00. The person who runs it charged me $103.94 instead of $40.25. After I asked him why the receipt says I went 117 miles instead of 17 miles, he finally admitted he mistakenly did not check the mileage on the previous return. He refused to correct the mistake. Go to Hertz or Avis, and save your money. That's what I plan to do in the future.
