Terrible customer service! I wish I had read some of these reviews before taking out an auto loan with UCU. They have been incommunicative whenever I call with an ongoing problem that requires them to take an auto pay out of my checking account at another bank; I authorized the payment, gave them all the necessary information, and still they can't process it on the date that I've designated. This has been going on for five months now, and every month they neglect to take the money out of my regular bank to cover my auto loan payment, which means I have to call and be told by customer service that the loan department will have to call me back at another time, they're busy. I am tempted to get another loan elsewhere and pay off my UCU loan, just so I don't have to deal with them anymore. They're asleep, and shouldn't be handling anyone's money. And the robot who answers your call when you dial the 800# is lame, with fake sounding keyboard activity to make it sound like they're really busy responding.

they have a 3rd party handling customer service calls, according to Manuel, a supervisor who just took my call. They have an indefinite list of "validation & security" questions, but can't resolve any issues. Other, larger and more established financial institutions simply ask for the pin or password and quickly try to address questions. Perhaps this prolongs the discussion, limiting the number of calls they have to address. In any case, I don't see the point of the password, if they then also ask how many accounts I have with them, what my address is, since when I've been employed at my current company, what my social is, etc. They could not explain why I was being charged fees that are not applicable for me. They could also not clarify UCU's policy regarding those fees. It's unclear what they can do, except throw validation questions at me and read out loud what is on the bank's screen. They offered in each of the last three calls to have a bank employee contact me, but I've never received a call-back. They assign no case numbers to the calls, and also take no surveys, so how can anyone gauge their performance. This credit union is one of the worst I've every been a member of. It's time to take my losses (in time and frustration), and find a better alternative.

Their banking App is ALWAYS down for maintenance EVERY WEEK. Why does only this bank have to do maintenance EVERY week. I can’t transfer money and or see my account. That’s a problem especially it’s always on the weekends. I’m about ready to close my accounts and move to a different credit union.

University Credit Union's customer service is terrible! All they do is give me the run around. It's easier for them to do that than to fix the problems they created in the first place. I've used several banking institutions during my life for both work and personal accounts and none of them have been as bad as University Credit Union, not even close. The problem starts at the top. UCU is very unorganized and that filters down and leads to terrible customer service. They say they'll get back to you, but never do. And that makes it even more frustrating. But they are great at one thing and that's making excuses. So I advise you to find another credit union. Anything is better than UCU.

I switched from a major bank chain thinking I would be treated with respect. I've been with UCU for over 3 years. My account has been hit with multiple overdraft fees without being able to access my account to transfer money because of your update. I was COMPLETELY locked out and all I could do was wait until your "system finished updating". I'm leaving and I won't recommend this credit union to anyone, especially UCLA students and alumni.Locking out your members for MULTIPLE days and then not working with them to find a solution is robbery.

I do not recommend this Credit Union. I have been a customer for over 20 years. I have 2 loans and a substantial amount of money in an account. Customer service is practically non existent. I have been waiting for a call back from the loan department for a week. The horrible phone system makes it impossible to speak with anyone. I do not trust this place can take care of my accounts. Sadly I will be closing my accounts with this credit union after over 20 years. The CEO is all about mergers and forgets his current customers.

I just called customer service, and when I asked a basic question about thier Saving account I was told, " You can find that information online, we don't answer those questions here.". I was so confused, I asked her if I had reached thier customer service department and she confirmed that I was speaking with customer service.Guess I'll just go online and look for another please to open a bank account at.

review for virtual COVID-era service. I'm generally willing to put up with a little more logistical red tape to bank with a credit union rather than a corporate bank, but this is the most poorly organized institution I've ever tried to interact with. Every step of setting up an account and making an online profile has been 10 times more complicated than at my previous credit union, with needs for numerous calls, going through the same conversations multiple times with the same employees, signing account verification documents multiple times, submitting them while on the phone with a bank employee, getting a confirmation, and then later being told that they had never been submitted, etc. It took 2 weeks to clear a UCLA paycheck, apparently it is their policy that even if you have a joint bank account you can only create one online account attached to 1 email, and countless other small headaches that have eaten up dozens of hours over the past 2 months. Bank elsewhere.

Where to begin!? University Credit Union has been the best option for my first car loan. From the moment my loan specialist, Adriana, contacted me after submitting my loan application, it was smooth sailing. Adriana has been the most helpful person I've ever dealt with regarding something as stressful as a loan. She was extremely patient and answered all of my questions. If you're searching for a place to get a loan from, you should search no further and you should request to have Adriana help you. She will make the process as easy and stress free as possible! Good Luck if you're looking to obtain a loan from this place! The representatives over the phone (with the exception of Gary), were very dismissive and rude while processing my father's application. With a 720 credit score, you would think they'd be a little nicer. His application was ultimately approved but only notified us via email, never even bothered to call.

Wow! I just bought a car and financed part of it. Although I no longer work at University Credit Union — UCLA Ackerman Branch, I still have a credit union account. I called the credit union's auto loan department and Robert Yuniskis helped me. This was an incredibly easy process and I got a great rate, too. I was approved in about 10 minutes. I emailed the contract for the car, e-signed my loan docs and had the funds in a few hours. Heck of a deal! Robert followed up in everything quickly and answered all my questions. Very helpful. Try it out for yourself!

UCLA Credit Union! Not only this school has the true diversity of student body, it offers top notched teaching, a conducive place to learning and growing mentally, physically and socially, very impressive. Top it off it has its own credit union for its students!

My experience with the credit union has been by far the best!...the team is very patient & answers all questions with knowledge...they make sure you leave satisfied and know about everything they offer...they work very hard to make sure that every issue is handled before you leave and direct you to the right place if they can't ...Hands down this is a very friendly & professional atmosphere!!
