On a Sunday I had to get my dog to an urgent care vet that had a vet working on a Sunday (not easy to find ) They have the option to put you on a wait list, where they text you when to arrive. I think that's brilliant. I still had to wait a bit - but at least I was able to get in. Dr Perez was GREAT. Everyone was so helpful, compassionate and very very professional. I highly recommend this place

My cat leaped onto the kitchen counter and slid into a sharp knife blade, nearly slicing off his whole pinky paw pad. I called Urgent Care and their phone recording gave me the option to make an appointment through a virtual waiting room. I filled out the intake info online as well and then they texted me time estimates periodically, and a text when they were ready for me to come in which was earlier than the original estimated time. It was so nice to wait in the comfort of my own home rather than in a hospital waiting room, and having an idea of when he could be seen gave me such a great sense of ease. When I got there they took him right away I was free to walk around the neighborhood while they sedated him and stitched him up. Less than an hour later they texted me to tell me he was ready to go home. I thought I was going to be spending the better part of my evening in ER but the entire visit took just about an hour. On top of the ease and comfort of waiting at home, the staff were over-the-moon friendly and the vet was just as pleasant and helpful. Tremendously satisfied.

Took my Cat Tigre here last year when he was infested with tapeworms. He was dewormed here and a couple days later he was back to his normal self : )

Virtual wait room feature is convenient. Staff is knowledgeable and kind (Daisy in particular was very sweet to my dog). Quality of care, treatment plan, and cost were pretty similar to our usual vet. Overall, a trip to urgent care is never how you want to spend your day but this one tries to make it as pain free as possible.

Incredible service, lovely staff, highly intelligent techs and doctor. We came in feeling uneasy/scared about our dog’s constant vomiting and left feeling confident and calm in how we needed to address his illness. Clean offices, easy virtual queue and free coffee!

Friendly staff and knowledgeable team. I've been here twice now, once in September 2022 and again December 2023. Both times for ear infections. Pricing is out of control though. In September I thought it was a lot and it's GONE up since then. $340 then and now $380. Just for an exam and ear cleaning alone is $300.

The system of booking here is very helpful so that you’re not waiting all day in a waiting room and the vibe when you get there is so much calmer because of it. The staff are excellent. Kind, communicative, helpful but also understanding of your wants and needs. I appreciate the staff here and their efforts with what I’m sure is a lot of stressed/upset customers with sick pets.

Staff was friendly and facility was clean but they did not pay attention to detail. I should’ve gotten my first clue when they kept referring to our female dog as he, and this is AFTER they examined her. They then gave us a prescription to fill with a list of pharmacies. We called 3 that all said they didn’t fill pet prescriptions. We then went to Costco, and it being the weekend before Thanksgiving, it took us 25 minutes to get in the parking lot and find parking. My husband finally got in to the pharmacy only to find that the Dr had failed to sign the prescription so Costco could not fill it. I called VCA to see is they would please call Costco to give the okay but they didn’t call until after we finally left. I then noticed that the total pill count they listed was 8 instead of 60 so I had to call them AGAIN to ask that they call Costco again with the correct amount. With so many oversights it doesn’t give you a whole lot of confidence in their abilities. They said it was because they were swamped but it was not busy when we were there. ?

What a wonderful surprise to learn that VCA had Urgent Care! The staff and the doctor that I interacted with were top-notch: thorough, caring, and understanding of what my concerns were. They also sent me home with two bags of medicine and canned food for my ailing pup (without me having to go to a pharmacy or pet store for supplies). Also, I love that they had a virtual waiting room I had signed up for earlier in the day, allowing me to remain home until the queue cleared and my name/number popped up on their screen. At that moment, they phoned me, and I reviewed with them the nature of my dog's sudden health problems, about which I had texted them earlier. When they confirmed that I had time/space to come immediately to their facility, I jumped in my car with my dog. We both felt much better after we visited VCA Mar Vista. Thank you to everyone who helped us yesterday.

EXCELLENT care for an emergency UTI (well emergency to us) for our 16 yo boi. Virtual waiting room is a brilliant idea & love that this is in BCA network (so our doggo's charts were readily accessible). Chill staff. VERY efficient and thorough experience for an Urgent Care

Huge shout out to Dr. Breanna Goodman and the wonderful veterinarian assistant who helped me and my cat Boost this past Sunday evening. I cannot write enough good things about the two of them and the services that they provided my ailing cat. They were so supportive and kind to both myself and my cat. Thank you for the kindness you showed both of us. You knew that I was in a vulnerable state, and that my cat needed support. They were conscientious of the costs involved, and they provided me with alternative options for care. My cat Bootsie is doing well now thanks to their care, the medicine, the IV, recommend Rescue fluids, and the swift actions they took to support me and Bootsie. It's very important to be kind to pet owners because they are just as distraught as the animals they bring in. Both Dr. Goodman and the caring veterinarian assistant understood the importance of kindness, and showed it throughout our visit. Thank you!

They charge like crazy. Amazon sells the same stuff with only half the price. $20 dollar could have solved the problem but VCA charged me $400.They also keep asking me if I can pay the bill IMMEDIATELY just because I asked for the detailed invoice. They even texted me to rush me to pay. I need to contact the pet insurance company at first and deal with bills, ok? They love money ? more than anything.

This place has come to my rescue a more than once... what do you do on a weekend when vets are closed? VCA has you covered with a virtual waiting room, so you're not stuck sitting in an office all day! The prices aren't the cheapest, but not outrageous either, and the vets seem to care! I will be back

My dog Jasper managed to rip out one of his nails on our carpet. After a very helpful online chat with one of the technicians here, I learned I needed to get him some antibiotics. My regular vet was not available so we signed up for the virtual waiting room... Fantastic thing that is... And came in when they could fit us in. Dr. Robinson was wonderful and Jasper was soon patched up and headed home. But the best thing I can say about this place is how gentle they were with him. When we arrived at the hospital he was terrified, shaking so hard his teeth were chattering. And when they took him into the back to wash and dress his foot, he was still really scared. But when they brought him back, his whole demeanor had changed, he was relaxed and happy. So I know they treated him well and he wasn't traumatized by the experience. Very grateful to have this place near my home. When you need them, you really need them.

Forget any other place! I appreciate VCA Mar Vista so much. This place is amazing the whole staff is on point. I brought my cat in twice and doctor Breanna Goodman was so helpful and kind. Also, Diana Martinez was so nice and patience. She explained everything to me. Highly highly recommend this place.
