Killer sandwich!I had the Terry Gross. A masterful combination of high quality sliced turkey, crunchy slaw, cheese that looked like was put through a meat grinder (A very good thing that made it's texture smooth and kind of chewable) plus what I think was mayonnaise spread on the inside of the bread. And oh that bread! Bub and Grandma's focaccia. Flavorful, crusty, spongy - amazing!.

Everything on the menu is designed for a flavor profile. I had the Tuna, the wife had the turkey, both excellent.

For those who love their sandwiches with lots of layers :)If you're a fan of bahn mi (Vietnamese sandwich), I recommend the Steve Julian sandwich! It has pickled daikon and carrot with a spicy jalapeño vinaigrette. I like my sandwiches with lots of layers and most of their sandwiches are stacked with flavors + layers. It's also big enough to share half with someone but if you're hungry I recommend ordering a sandwich for yourself.Parking is not the easiest but you can find spots around the neighborhood. There is a patio outside for outdoor seating and it's a cute spot for a mid-day lunch :^) You order and pick-up at the storefront window. Amazing spot if you're nearby and craving a good, healthy sandwich.

Great location and atmosphere. Not sure if I was selecting to customize my order of salad today using the options on the menu was a eatery faux pas but the cashier wasn't very friendly to me in either of her interactions. From a simple request to add protein from the menu to the salad I selected or the inquiry for simple salt and pepper. Very unpleasant or as if my patronage is futile.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free - extra $ for salad option

Basic, mushy and bland.Simple concoctions at their worst with flowery description’s.Shredded cheddar?Ice cream scoops of mayo?Long wait times and mediocre results.Do better for $16 especially if it’s on stale Bubs bread, just go there.

As other reviewers mentioned, overpriced sandwiches. Tried once, will not return. Happened to be in area and wanted to try WaxPaper out. Please do visit La Columbe coffee roasters in Frogtown, though, with a sandwich you buy elsewhere and eat on the LA River. Claro’s Italian Market or Eastside Deli two recommendations.

Ira Glass with Turkey is the best sandwich in LA!

Great sandwiches! My favorite is the Ira Glass. It’s such a fresh vegetarian sandwich as is, but also great if you add a protein to it. I love their rotating soft serve flavors. Parking can be a challenge but the sandwiches are worth it!

Waxpaper is just okay. The sandwiches are pretty tasty, but a little over priced. I don’t think it’s worth it to trek over to frogtown with this as your culinary destination, but if you happened to be in the area and hungry, it’s a decent option. Most annoying thing is how god awful slow they are. I went at 11 am when they first opened and was literally the first person to order and it was a 20 minute wait for a deli sandwich! Every time I’ve been it’s been incredibly slow and not that busy.

Frogtown area is great. Food was wack, the iced coffee was 99.99% ice, they messed up a very easy order, the sandwiches and sides were hella mid.The cashier was the worst part, super rude and abrasive and barely knew how to work the order input device.Plus we all know you folks are taking phone numbers for dine in orders to sell them to advertisers. Shady business practice

You can make a sandwich at home, heck you can break into a grocery store and make one before the cops come. Let me tell you why you want to skip both options and go to wax paper and grab one from them.Growing up there was a deli in Michigan that had this magical sandwich, nothing compared. You could try and stack it up at home but it had a sauce that came with it that you just couldn’t make.Enter the Larry mantle, wax paper has made a perfect pallet pleasuring sandwhich with this creation that took my mouth and mind back to my childhood. The flavor was enhanced by the sauce to a top tier of bread encased meats and vegetables.Im excited to try their other creations but sadly I may need to stick to the Larry mantle when I’m in town.

Awful sandwich spot. The prices are steep, the food stale and soggy. If you want actual food instead of a clouty instagram spot, go somewhere, anywhere else. The grab and go that day was a prosciutto arugula apple baguette. The baguette was stale like it was baked 4 days ago and kept in a soggy fridge. The arugula was old and soaked through (you can see in the picture). That’s not to mention the absolute mess of non-flavor, in addition to the difficulty of gnawing on stale bread and stringy prosciutto.Ira Glass was ok. There was another one we got that’s similar to Italian Cold Cut. The bread wasn’t fresh, and it was difficult to eat through the thick brick of the sandwich. Overall there’s barely any flavor or specialty to any sandwiches. We waited 5 min in line to purchase, then another 35 minutes to get our food.

Okay the sandwiches are top notch. Out of this world good. Soft serve is really really delicious too. The wait time of 30 minutes for a sandwich seems incredibly excessive and the cashier at the window is cold and unfriendly. She seemed annoyed that we asked her what drinks they have, and was rude to another guy in front of us. Otherwise it's great.
