The human touch component of their customer service is top-notch, second to none. Terrific people. The back-end, IT-driven component of their operations is consistently problematic. ATMs that don't work. Credit card blocks without informing you (fraud holds), website issues and site going down or constant maintenance delays, glitches, etc. I'm surprised it happens as often as it does. It undermines their otherwise great work.

I'm extremely happy that I went with First Republic to refinance my student loans and very grateful for Jordan & Miguel's help throughout the process. From day 1, they were very transparent, kept me up to date, and were very responsive. A couple of friends and family members recommended looking into First Republic for my student loans because of the great deals they offer. Due to the pandemic, I wasn't sure if there would be any good interest rates. I literally looked into all of the major banks and even smaller credit unions and no one offered anything close to what I got at First republic. On top of that, Miguel and Jordan made the refinance very smooth and quick and we're helpful in making sure I uploaded the correct documents. The entire process took about 1.5-2 weeks, which was way faster than the last time I refinanced with College Ave.I highly recommend First Republic to anyone who needs to refinance their student loans, or are looking for a great bank with amazing service and a simple and intuitive app (this matters a lot to me). And if you're interested, ask for Miguel and Jordan, you'll be in amazing hands.

I love the bank, but ever since Crystal left their customer service has gone down. I emailed my "FRB Team" (Kurt) back in March to inquire about a claim and never heard back from him so I ended up reaching out to someone else. It's now June and still nothing back on that email I sent to Kurt, I can't imagine someone getting that many emails and not being able to reply to one email.

Tagline should probably be "It's a slight discomfort to serve you," cause that's the vibe I got while being helped. Closed my account after 2 days. Also, their website is clearly broken in several places which is pretty concerning for someone you bank with.

I agree that the service inside the bank is courteous and professional. Reaching them by phone is a different issue. Today was the 3rd time in recent memory I hung up after long holds because they don’t answer their phone. Once I enter the bank all is well, but it’s inconvenient to require physical presence in the digital age.

This bank has an unprecedented level of service particularly at this branch. They know you by your name when you come in. It's very friendly and helpful. I really get the feeling they treat their employees well here. They don't act like just typical bank tellers. They are great people and highly professional and know their service well. I've opened my kids and my own accounts here. I actually enjoy going to the bank because of how great they are.
