I took a Persian Tabriz rug in for cleaning, and ended up buying a new Indian rug for another room. While I was doing home repairs/remodeling of my living room, my designer had purchased a cheap, acrylic rug that was obviously poor quality. In the midst of doing all of this work, I decided I should have my beautiful Persian Tabriz rug (in another room) cleaned after several years of light wear. When I walked into the Serapi showroom, Babak immediately recognized my rug and knew where it was from based on the traditional design. He taught me about my rug-- from Tabriz, who probably made it, how long it took to make, how many women's hands carefully created it...and, of course, what it was worth. As I purchased it from Craigslist from a man who also loved the rug, I had no idea it was worth more than 10 times what I paid for it. Babak's kindness and deep respect for the rugs and the craftsman engendered a deep appreciation myself, such that I feel connected to the place and the women who created my rug. While waiting, I found the perfect wool and bamboo silk, abstract rug for my living room. With very little information and no down payment, Babak offered to send it home with me so I could try it in the room (he did have my $10k rug). He folded the rug up and put it in my trunk, and then let me keep it for weeks without calling me. Of course, I called him that we love the rug and wanted it. Because it was new in the showroom, he hadn't tagged it yet; plus, with the pandemic, he was giving everyone designer, wholesale discounts. When I came back to pickup my rug and pay for the cleaning and new rug, he told me that he had actually quoted me the price of the smaller size. He would abide by his quoted price, he just wanted me to know. He was not putting any pressure on me, there was no guilt. Just very matter of fact...and always, always SO KIND and RESPECTFUL. This may sound very hippie, but my interactions with Babak were not just respectful, but they were sacred. Babak has a sacred respect for the committed artisans, the materials, and the traditions from which these rugs come. And I feel that he is aware of the sacred gift that these works of art represent as they grace the homes of his customers. A connection to a time and place not ruled by mass production and disposable materials. These rugs are part of our homes and families that may last for generations, bringing with them the deep care and commitment of women across the world who have birthed them with their tender hands.

My grandmother's antique rugs were in dire need of a good clean and a little googling led me to Serapi--fantastic! They came to pick my rugs up from my home the next day. These rugs also needed a bit of TLC to restore them to heirloom quality and Serapi was able to handle it all! They even packaged up the rugs and shipped them to me as I had moved several hundred miles away. Great, friendly, no-pressure service and beautiful results! I can't ask for anything more! I highly recommend these guys!

Super great place. Babak is so helpful and his rugs so beautiful (like pieces of art). And he knows so much about them. It is so hard to buy rugs without seeing them in person. Babak made it easy and fun.

Serapi Rug Gallery is an absolute delight. Babak, the owner, patiently went over rugs with us multiple times and sent rugs to our house on three different trips for us to try out. We are quite pleased with the two that we bought and are looking forward to buying more in the future. His prices were also among the best we've found in the area. There are no words really to describe how thoughtful, patient, and concerned for his clients happiness Babak is. He's simply the best.

Bobak spent an inordinate amount of time with us and with his help, we chose the perfect rug and still love it several years later. When we needed the rug cleaned before we were moving to the east coast, he was quick to respond, quick to get it cleaned, quick to pick it up AND return it, all rolled up and wrapped in plastic to put into storage for us! Bobak is an honest, delightful person — a real pleasure to work with. AND, the rugs in that store are all gorgeous and he has a large variety. And he has people that can custom make your rug — choose a design and request different colors! We have been very, very happy with Serapi!!

Serapi Rug Gallery did an excellent job cleaning and repairing a Kilim rug that had been rolled up, in the back of a closet, for years. What was once in the back of a closet is now being used and loved, as it should be.

I needed my Persian Rugs cleaned and repaired. Serapi Rug Gallery cleaned, sanitized, repaired and met me moving deadline when i needed my rugs returned to me. They did a beautiful job, professional and they knew the type of rugs I had and just what was needed to take care of them so that they would last forever. The rugs were returned looking like I had just bought them and they were over 25 years old. I highly recommend this business. They are so knowledgable, professional which is needed with fine carpets. Thank you Serapi Rug Gallery for the exceptional service.

After living in Los Gatos for 32 years, we finally let down our guard to investigate the offerings of Serapi. We discovered a gem of artisan rugs and the flexibility of the management in working individually with each client. We are cautious buyers and found that Serapi is very flexible in working customers to find the perfect rug for their particular home setting. We have been permitted to test out a few rugs in our living space with the trust & generosity of Serapi! This leaves no opportunity for buyers remorse!! This is a first class artisan rug store that I can trust & feel they understand the art of woven beauty and how that can fit into your personal home. If you seek to have art in your house...look at their selection and work with these people.

Went to Serapi Rug Gallery to find a runner for our hallway and we couldn't believe the number of rugs Babak had that worked. He helped us choose the one that would fit the best and let us take it home go make sure we liked it. Babak, the owner was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and easy to work with. From beginning to end, it was a great experience and if we ever need another rug, we'll definitely be back.
