I have only used Zipcar three times but all three of those times I had little to no issue and the small issue I had was promptly resolved. The issues I have/had are1. There aren't any cars in Torrance where I live. I have to Uber to the car which is either in el Segundo or lax. Which whatever that's not that big of a deal. I have more of an issue with Ubers prices being so high but that's beside the point. 2. I was charged a late fee of $50. I was at the location at the correct time. I was waiting in the car for my Uber because it was pouring rain and I would have been soaked. My Uber showed up 6 minutes after my drop off time. I called customer service and easily got someone on the phone. The lady was extremely nice and removed the fee after I explained to her the situation. So all good.I like Zipcar. The prices are affordable, cars have been clean with the exception of one that smelled like smoke but it wasn't that bad and that's not Zipcars fault that's on the dip s**t that smoked in it. The gas is covered which is awesome!! I actually got a Toyota Tacoma last time and it was NICE!! I honestly don't know what everyone is complaining about because the Zipcar I use is awesome and convenient ish. So Zipcar if you're reading this maybe have some cars in Torrance but if that's not an option fine. Keep up the good work!!!

My application was rejected because my bank declined the charge due to suspicious activity. Even though I cleared the issue with my bank, Zipcar will not allow me to re-apply for a membership to re-process the payment. I called and talked to Customer Service and it is their "policy" to never allow anyone to re-apply after an application is rejected, even if it's only for clerical payment issues, not driving history or other eligibility issues. No wonder they've fallen off the face of the earth... They used to be so popular...

Horrible. They emailed me the night before my trip that my car was going to be in a different location... a 15 minute drive from my campus. As a student without a car, I had to uber there. Imagine my surprise when I get there and the car isn't even there. Waste of time and money.

This company thieves money off you by charging me 3 times for a car that was not even available when I arrived to collect it, and when you complain or challenge them they cancel your account, after years of being a loyal customer that's how they treated me. Avoid at all costs. Not worth the drama and stress

This is a terrible company- AVOID! My college age daughter rented a zipcar which broke down on the side of the road at night. She called customer service and they said they would send out road side assistance. She waited for over two hours, in the dark, on the side of the road, and nobody came. I finally called them myself because her phone was about to die and I didn't want her to use up her battery. It was past 11:00 in the middle of nowhere, clearly an unsafe situation, and there was absolutely no concern or urgency on their part. All they gave me was excuses and one agent, Ernesto, actually hung up on me. They rented her a car that wasn't working and as I read through reviews, this seems to be a pattern with them. This company lacks integrity, is completely undependable and I hope they go out of business. Don't support them.

Customer service sucks they could never ever give your referendum right away they've canceled my trips they offer like $11 of driving credit I've had to clean the car they told me they could not reimburse me to clean the car I've had to fill up the tank because of gas the car has dits in it always stinking as dog hair they never clean them it's always dirty I'm always going to take it to the car wash to go get it cleaned and they don't want to reimburse you so you don't even tell them anymore it's pathetic and a customer service sucks absolutely sucks. It was my son's 13th birthday I reserved the car 2 days before 2 days before my son's birthday 48 hours they canceled the trip they made me wait 4 days for the reimbursement told me they couldn't find me a car and I wanted it could do is apologize I was living then I actually can you compassate me with something they gave me $11 are you kidding me no won't you go and give me a different car won't you cancel somebody else's trip dead and let me have a car it's my son's 13 birthday they didn't care they were like oh I'm sorry we can't do nothing about it I'm sorry you're just going to have to wait so I had to lyft my son up and back to his place for his birthday. I had to pay $49 25 up 24 back just so he could enjoy yourself and they had nothing to say was I'm sorry for your inconvenience what

I used to love Zipcar and it was one of the reasons I decided to give up my car. But over the past couple of years, the cars are not as clean as they used to be -- food trash left in car, cigarette ashes, musty smell and once, the car trunk was filled with someone else's clothes! They often cancel or move your reservation. Recently, the car broke down and I was not close to home. They said they'd cover my Uber home, but only covered $25. Bye, Zipcar. Membership canceled!

This occurred 7/5/22, Placed an order. Car location was moved, from 2 miles to where I live to 10 miles. - Okay I understand. Pick up the car. it has dents all over. Smells like Marijuana, and the AC doesn't work. During my trip. I call to extend as I'm running late (forgot the person's name). Person I spoke to advise, sure we can extend, to charge $10 more. End the trip. I still get slapped with a $50 late fee. I call customer service, spoke to Antonio. Advises he'll work on waiving the the fee. Sees notes, says person I spoke to advised me of the late fee still. Will not waive it at all. I mentioned all of the issues with the car.... offer's 5 free minutes of drive time. Antonio Advises he contacted supervisors, they agree with the fee. Clearly, they lack integrity of service. Update: 7/6. Leanna with Zipcar reviewed the situation, and responded via email correcting the issues all around. Billing was updated to remove the $50 late fee. Charged only the $10 for extension of drive time. Also, provided a $15 credit. This is what service is. Of course it took an upset phone call the day of the incident. However, monetarily, Zipcar succeeded and corrected the issue. 5 stars. Good Job Leanna.

When I arrived, the car had trash in it. The left/driver-side taillight was busted out, and there was a dent in the fender. Additionally, the car died in the middle of my trip, and I was forced to call AAA. My trip was also cut short electronically, for no reason, with my luggage locked in the back, and I didn't have access to the car for several hours. When I went to return the car (after having to call for emergency services since the customer support line didn't pick up) the return garage location was closed/locked, so I was forced to park the car less than a block away, and they are now claiming I owe them for "reclamation/retrieval." Worst experience ever. Stay away.

I booked a car on the app but there was no car on arrival. I called and they gave me a refund. They give you a window to get the car but if the other person doesn't bring it back, the car is canceled and you have to look for another car that is not available. Maybe this app works I would try it again but it seems like a scam

The coverage map has only decreased in my time since living here. There is a shocking lack of cars, and I have been switched to another car, miles away, several times. Plenty of former Zipcar spots, none of them are filled. The closest zipcar to me is a 45 minute walk. What is the point? I'm sure some of this is supply chain but meanwhile Boston, MA and Portland, OR continue to add cars to their fleet...

I have booked a lot of cars using zipcar and have not encountered any big problem. I had a fuel issue but customer service was nice and took care of it and refunded me the amount. Also the cars are in good condition and good price for 1-2 hours
