“Just had my first appointment with this practice. The Vet, Dr Adam, was great. I got my pigs nails trimmed and all went well. He was kind, communicative, and their prices are very reasonable. “Today I finally felt like I left the office of a Veterinarian who actually cared about animals. I’ve gone to one clinic, where my rescue pup was just another number and they had zero communication skills. And a local Morro Bay Vet who just seemed to lack knowledge and the office staff couldn’t get their act together.
I took my pup with the same needs (vaccines), concerns and questions to LOPH and had a very thorough puppy visit. He looked at her teeth, ears and addressed what I asked, as he checked her over.
The other vet in MB either lacked experience or she didn’t understand what my needs were with a first time puppy check. She didn’t explain anything about bone growth and had the other vet in the office look at my dog, who promptly said “we can do X-rays”.
The puppy did not need X-rays. So, I threw almost $300 out the door for the first vet to do nothing. I feel I got the attention and advice I needed for the puppy and monies worth with Los Osos Vet.
Staff was friendly, knowledgable and timely also.

“I can't imagine how they could be a better large animal vet. I have primarily dealt with Dr Lyon, but I have worked with Dr Evans once during a late night emergency visit. Dr Lyon is easy to work with, he's pragmatic, and does good work. He shows up when he says he will, and his rates are reasonable (Farm visit + per hour charge). I wish my small animal vet were more like my large animal vet. 10/10 would Vet again.”
