Ludlow Motel is a simple and cozy place, ideal for travelers exploring the Mojave Desert or photographing and railfanning the BNSF Transcon on Ash Hill. The motel offers a comfortable stay with air conditioning that works well, even on very hot days, such as when temperatures reach 116 degrees. Guests appreciate the friendly staff who go out of their way to accommodate their needs, like moving rooms to ensure good air conditioning during extreme heat. The rooms are affordable, often under $100, and include thoughtful extras like free fountain drinks from the gas station, which guests find to be a nice bonus. The motel provides a quiet, laid-back atmosphere, perfect for those wanting to be in the center of it all without the fuss. Visitors also enjoy the old-fashioned charm and retro feel of the place, which adds to its unique character. While amenities like the cafe may close early and no alcohol is sold on-site, the staff’s helpful attitude and the motel’s peaceful setting make it a good stopover. It serves as a welcoming oasis in the middle of the desert, offering basic comforts, friendly service, and a chance to relax after a day of exploring or railfanning. Overall, Ludlow Motel is praised for its cleanliness, affordability, and the welcoming spirit of its staff, making it a memorable stop for travelers passing through the Mojave area.
Been through many times before but staying here completes the experience.

Loved the ambience . Funky and a memorable experience. The motel didn't have their lights on at night. Thought it was abandoned but it was open. Told them the lights were off and they turned them on. 🤣. One of the most memorable things on my Mojave trip.

After 5 days tent camping in the Mojave we were looking for a place to stay and get a warm shower. The Ludlow Hotel was very reasonable, clean and had comfortable beds. It will be my go to next time I’m in the area. Check-in is across the street at the Chevron.
