After a long day of drivingI was expecting a cute, vintage Route 66 room, and an Ice cold beer (NO ALCOHOL IN THIS PRIVATELY OWNED TOWN) what I got was beat down, sketch, Bates Motel. Sad I missed the lot lizard fight mentioned in the previous review. I have never rented a room from a gas station...at least we got free beverages. The high point was talking to all the ravens the next morning. Population of 20 people, I think they are all aliens ? Oh and the only cafe closes early so DQ was the only option. I feel it was over priced for no wifi, 3 tv channels, rusty sink, beat down furniture and a bar of soap that seemed to be from 1950. We decided not to shower and leave as soon as possible.

One big plus no one seems to mention is free fountain drink from the gas station with the price of the room; cycling in from Randsburg in September, I was really thirsty. There was no soap in the room, nor any that I could buy from the gas station; kudos to those in charge for going out of their way to make sure I got some.I wanted a meal at the cafe, but it was closed already at 6PM; I suppose it's really not the fault of the motel. One should know that no alcohol is sold in Ludlow and for many people, that can be a good thing.

Recent visit driving across country, it was 116 degrees on 7/15/23 and we felt blessed that they had a two bed room available that allowed our dogs. They did everything to accommodate us in the hot Mohave desert. We had dinner at the cafe and our room was cool overnight. So grateful for the friendly staff and the drinks and breakfast offered. This is a motel and we paid under $100 but it was an oasis in the middle of nowhere. Many thanks to the team running this fine motel!

This place is AWFUL! We blew the radiator in our suburban in 108 degree heat with the whole family on board. While waiting on our part and for the mechanic to fix our truck(6 hours)we decided to rent a motel room. This place was outrageously priced, (only motel in town), the rooms were outdated and there were stains on the sheets and curtains, the TV barely worked and only got 3 channels, and the bathroom sink wouldn't drain. The only good thing about this place was the air-conditioning. There is no room service because the lobby is across the street in the gas station. If you can make it to Needles or Barstow do it. Definitely NOT recommending this place.

THE LEAD SHIFT PERSON AT LUDLOW MOTEL TODAY STEPPED UP AND SHE MOVED BY FAMILY MEMBER TO A ROOM WITH GOOD WORKING AIR CONDITIONING (ON A DAY WITH 116 DEGREE TEMPERATURE)THANK YOU "LEAD SHIFT PERSON" MUCH ADMIREDSafety: NO AIR CONDITIONING ON A 116 DEGREE DAY IS NOT HEALTHY AND CAN CAUSE DEATH OR STROKE. THE LEAD SHIFT PERSON WAS PROMPT TO TAKE ACTION TO CORRECT THIS. THANK YOU

You have to go to gas station across the street to pay for your room. There was a bunch of male lot lizards fighting outside until the cops came and the room was worse than a crack motel. Would never stay in a place like this but I was far away from a decent hotel and my hrs were almost up. Never

Absolutely quaint. A wonderful retro experience. It made me smile that we checked in at the gas station and they gave us free fountain drinks for the entire time we were there. Old-fashioned comfort.

Do NOT stay here no matter how desperate you are! The room that cost $74 was filthy! The sheets were brown and we chose to sleep on top of the covers. The bathroom had dirt everywhere and there was a bunch of nasty hair and dirt in the bottom of the shower! As if this isn't enough there was old moldy food left in the small refrigerator that added a horrible odor to the already disgusting place. I repeat, do not stay here!Rooms: Filthy and stinky!Safety: A generic lock on the door does very little to calm your fears.

This place has seen better days but so have I. It was perfect. Looking for a place in the middle of nowhere and found this. Three days and two nights of complete disconnect from the madness of LA. I'll be back.

For being a small motel out of the way on the interstate in a dead zone between towns, they definitely took advantage of the fact that people don’t want to risk another 30-45 minutes to drive further with their pricing. The employee renting out the rooms was very nice and chatting with us which was appreciated. However, we were told that they had just gotten maintenance done, so assumed the room was up to shape altogether. We found trash in the room, shower was a little worn down, and the giant window to our room was unlocked the entire evening. It was pretty sketch, but I could see the effort being made with benefits with discounts for the Ludlow cafe, fountain drinks/coffees in the gas station across the street, and a loyalty program for their gas station with a free bag of chips.Warm greetings with service, but not so much in the upkeep of the actual hotel room. It does what you need it do at the end of the night though like any other hotel in the middle of nowhere.

I stayed here a few years ago while on a road trip to check out the local geology. After a 9 hour drive I checked in, got some food at the nearby fast food place, and slept like a baby in the comfy bed.Location is right off of Route 66 and if you drive a few miles you can see the Milky Way at night, it is so dark!It is a step back in time as far as the room and furnishings go, but I love that. Having travelled through Asia, and having grown up on a farm in an old house, I felt right at home here.Clean room and very quiet in spite of the Hells Angels sleeping in another room.I look forward to staying here again.

I arrived around 3:00 am the guy in the counter has told me if I check in after 5:00am I could stay until next day 11:00 am but motel stuff knocked my door around 2:00pm and asked me to leave or pay for two nights they were very unprofessional and rude so I got the receipt and went to the manager the manager was more rude and disrespectful than the staff 5 or 6 motel staff surrounded me when I was talking to the manager one of the staff members attempted to take off his shirt and start fighting with me while the manager was there and theatre me that he will drag me out of the room and then I realized he was just playing childish…lolThe manager told me you were supposed to be checked in after 6:00 am I responded the person in the counter said 5:00 am not 6:00am she said I don’t care I said that is not my mistake finally they did all that to get more money from me.Do not ask about room starting from bed bugs to …I do not recommend this motel it is wasting of money.
