I live nearly three hours away and made that very clear before my visit. Kien explicitly assured me that the truck I was interested in would be out front and ready when I arrived so I could view it and potentially drive it home. Based on that promise, I committed to the long drive.
After arriving following a three-hour trip, I discovered the truck was not on the lot at all. It was in the service department, up on a lift. Kien claimed it was just routine service and told me it would be ready in about 15 minutes, which was clearly not true. We then watched a service technician take the truck on a test drive, making it obvious this was not simple prep work.
Later, a mechanic informed us the truck required replacement of a tie rod, additional repairs, and an alignment. This means the vehicle was never ready, and Kien either knew that or failed to bother confirming before telling me to drive six hours round trip. We waited well over an hour beyond the promised time, only to learn the truck still wasn’t ready.
What made this experience especially poor was Kien’s response when confronted. Instead of taking responsibility for misleading me and wasting an entire day, he deflected blame onto the service department. The service department did their job. Kien failed at his. Clear communication and basic honesty would have avoided this entire situation.
When we finally left after over an hour of waiting, the only acknowledgment from Kien was a dismissive “have a nice ride back,” which summed up the lack of professionalism throughout the experience.
This was not a simple misunderstanding. It was avoidable, careless, and disrespectful. I would strongly caution anyone, especially buyers traveling from out of town, to verify everything independently before trusting assurances from Kien.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Madera Toyota’s service department today. I brought in my 2019 Toyota Avalon for an oil change and to diagnose an annoying E-brake error message, and from start to finish the service was top-tier.
Karen, my service advisor, was outstanding. She was professional, friendly, and incredibly thorough. She explained everything clearly and made sure I understood what was going on with the vehicle. She kept me updated throughout the appointment and genuinely made me feel taken care of. It’s rare these days to find someone who combines great customer service with real knowledge, and Karen nailed both.
The technicians were quick, efficient, and fixed the issue perfectly. My Avalon is running smooth and error-free, and the whole visit was far easier than I expected. The service area was clean, the wait time was reasonable, and everyone I interacted with was polite and helpful.
If you need work done on your Toyota, I highly recommend Madera Toyota’s service department (especially Karen.) I’m absolutely coming back for all future maintenance. Excellent team, excellent experience.

Wow! This dealership is so professional and easy to work with! My dealership in San Diego couldn’t get me the Toyota Sienna I was looking for and I got in touch with Elizabeth @Madera Toyota. She found the car that I wanted, set it aside for me, processed all of the paperwork online via email and had the car waiting for me when I arrived. Her boss, Alex, even picked me up at Fresno Airport. They made the buying process so easy. I highly recommend Madera Toyota and Elizabeth.

This dealership forced me to buy ALL the warranties when I bought the newly released Toyota Prius 2 years ago. They literally told me they wouldn’t be able to sell me the car unless I bought the warranties. Buyer beware. Never coming back here again.

I attempted to purchase a 4Runner online, but the experience was disappointing. Throughout our text conversation, I was repeatedly pressured to come into the dealership—asked roughly 20+ times—despite clearly wanting to complete the process remotely. The price listed online did not match what was later presented to me, and the online sales manager, Beto, attempted to add pre-installed accessories and services (such as paint protection) that were never disclosed on the website.
Ultimately, I decided to purchase from Clovis Toyota instead. When I informed him of my decision and explained the reason, his response was unprofessional and sarcastic, insisting that I “could have just said no” to the undisclosed add-ons. Overall, a very poor experience.
