Love the clothing items but this Manhattan Beach location is so unhelpful!! 3 people standing behind the counter talking instead of helping. I was in the store for 20mins with items in my hands to try on and not one workers asked if I needed help. Too bad loft is closed at Manhattan Beach, they are at least helpful eventhough different demographics and clothing style.

I completely agree with the previous review. My sister and I love to shop at Ann Taylor online and decided to try out the store in person. We were immediately met with unwelcoming and skeptical vibes. There were other white women in the store who were attended to and welcomed with friendly smiles and conversation. My sister and I are not white and went through the store separately and neither of us were asked if we needed help and were followed at a distance with glares as if we were criminals. My sister was dressed in a lovey summer dress and I was in everyday clothes. I’m not too sure why we received hostility, but I wouldn’t go again and would not recommend anyone who isn’t white to go here.

The lady's working in this store suck,Me and my sister were not greeted walking in and the whole time we were followed in the store and They made comments about us not having money to shop there just because we were dressed in yoga clothing.Very racial against colored people Will never go back to this store again.

A bit of context: My mother is getting older--and she's shrinking ! The point is that none of her older clothes fit properly anymore. And while it's easy for me to find casual clothing for her, I have no idea what her current "size" is (beyond the generic small, medium and large).I took my mother into the "Ann Talyor" store inside the Manhattan Village shopping center. I explained my predicament to the salesperson. This store staff was very helpful in identifying my mother's clothing size (per the Ann Taylor brand) and ordering the items we wanted, with free shipping to the house.The bottom line is that I really needed help to make a purchase, and I feel I got a high level of customer centric service.

Nicely kept store. Maybe they have a hands-off approach to customer service that I just don't care for. Felt completely ignored. No other customers inside during my visit. Was not greeted with a "hello" or "welcome", from either of the ladies I saw "working" behind the counter and no one on the sales floor. They both stayed behind the counter the entire time I was in the store- never looking up to so much as give a smile. Only glance I was able to achieve was the one as I exited the store to see if I were empty handed (in my opinion). Will not return. Not the kind of shopping experience I enjoy. Don't want to be watched or followed around, but a simple hello, welcome or smile helps customers know you are available (and willing) to assist if they have any questions or needs.
